Thank for the info. I get a vacuum through the connected lines all the time through this valve. Is it suppose to be open or closed at engine start up?? Also, you mentioned there is a replacement part that needs modifying the to fit the car. Could you link me to the part please?? Thanks very much
The valve should be completely close when engine is not running or at startup. The replacement new part is Bosch 0280142486, search for it on Google. If yours is bad, try to find a used part with less mileage an hope it will last.
@@CorsaDForever I bought a second hand replacement , its on an Astra H . Both valves are open a tiny bit(hard to blow though) with no power applied. When 12v is applied both of the valves opening further, I tested that in the car and on the bench. !! They seem to open fully as soon as the engine is started . I cant figure out which way its supposed to function but makes sense to be closed on start up like you are saying .
Probably I am wrong about engine start and sometimes the ECU command the valve to open. Depends on ambient temperature, engine temperature, stuff like that. I didn't test that. Definitely when the engine is off the valve is close so you can't blow thru it and that means is ok. If something is really bad about it, you will get valve or fuel trim related error code. It appears your valve works ok.
Can something be done to prevent cats from entering under the car and then sitting on top of the engine ? Honestly, it is driving me nuts having to clean the dirt from the engine cover
I have corsa d 2014.not Vauxhall. I have some component FEPV bosh made. But it sounds tick tick when car is idle and low speed. I can hear it from cockpit and it annoys me. What can i do?
Hello...that valve sounds little like tick tick??if turn my engine off and turn on again the sound stop for little but coming back after while...its normally that???
I can't show you, I don't have any issues right now, so no reason to remove it. It is hold it in place by two screws. The valve is coming out one piece with the metal plate, don't try to separate it. You also have to follow the pipe and disconnect it. It is much easy to remove it if you take of the throttle body.
That valve model is no longer manufactured. The chances are low to find a new one. The new replacement for this engine is not a direct match, it takes some work to adapt it.
My corsa D 2010 smells gasoline in startup and if I run the engine it looses power for a while and sounds like a fire in exhaust.. can you give me tips how to fix it thanks again if u reply
This valve it usually causes P0171. What you get there could be caused by the O2 sensor or the map / maf sensor, depending on the engine code you have.
@@CorsaDForever on a corsa c forum they said the purge valve is screwd to the back of the inlet manifold if i follow the charcol canistor pipes from osf wing they said i should find it what values should i be looking at on op com its defently a lean mixture code
The map sensor should react when gas pedal is pressed or depressed. If it stays flat and shows a fixed number and no reaction no matter what you do with the pedal, is bad. You need to check it long time, there are periods when is working and suddenly just stuck, and so on.
It is ok to reach it. For the Z12/14XEP it is much easy if you remove the throttle body and the plastic covers from the bottom of the windscreen. For the A12/14XER it is much simple, no need to remove anything else.
@@CorsaDForever Cheers mate. Just checked and yes would be easier with the Throttle body off. If I remove the throttle body does it need re-programming ? I heard you should not remove them to clean always clean whilst on with someone pressing the accelerator.
If you have XEP engine it is ok to remove it. The only "programming" to do after put it back is to turn the ignition on and wait 30 seconds before actually start the engine. For XER engines you can acces the EVAP without messing with the throttle body, is not in your way.

Great VID! Your channel is full of knowledge!
Do you have a video of EVAP removal in that engine?
Not yet. My EVAP still working fine.

I have the same problem with the cats. Still looking for a solution.
A bit of mesh underneath?
Pigeon spikes? XD

If the car is running good without errors there is nothing to do. It is ok. Thats what it does when it works.

Can you show how to pull this Fuel Evaporation Purge Valve ??

Where can i buy a new Fuel Evaporation Purge Valve? for 1.2 XEP 2008

@@CorsaDForever can the new replacement valve be put on this engine or it will not work
It will work, but you have to find a way to fit it. It is slightly different from the old one. Mine still working, I didn't replace it yet.
Please show me how to replace the evap thanks

I didn't need to replace it, but it's not difficult, you figure out how things are there, remove the pipes at both ends and put a new one.
hi could this valve cause the p0170 code lean

Yea. That's what it does most of the time.
This is a load of crap. The same unit is advertised with different stories and inventors everywhere. They are practically useless.
