@@DRAKE_FORTUNATE You do realise it is very expensive to runs nd maintain a stadium, and you think United has the money to build a massive new stadium while also keeping the old one? And what use will they have with the old stadium?
@killbot86 United won't have to pay the full amount. That's why the mayor is involved. Old Trafford could be used for many events like womens matches, reserves, concerts rugby etc. Other big clubs have a smaller stadium nearby.

Yeah council money isn't going into it, doesn't mean they can't try and get some funding from the central government, this isn't just building a new stadium but the entire redevelopment of the surrounding areas with new housing, businesses, roads etc which if they get funding from government most would be going to the regeneration of the surrounding area and wouldn't be used directly in the construction of the stadium @@jcgaming908
Of course, Citytard wants to remain to be the club with the stadium in Manchester, their ego and selfishness wont allow it. Meanwhile governments are backing 115 FC against their allegations.

Building a new stadium would be a proper idea there then after relocation to it the old one can be refurbished for puclic use and also the youth League games

So many comments on here from people who obviously are missing the entire point about that model. Hint, it’s got nothing to do with what the stadium will look like.
Apart from the football pitch in the middle this model is very low on detail. It looks like it does not have a roof ! not a good idea for a city that gets as much rain as Manchester.
No we have to improve and we should have one of the best stadiums in the world, as long as we incorporate certain things like the tunnel and clock I’m right behind a NEW Trafford!
There’s virtually nothing left of the ‘old’ Old Trafford that I went to in the 1960’s apart from the tunnel opposite the centre circle. The rest only dates back to the 70’s. Re-vamping the ground is just madness, let’s have one of the best stadiums in the world.
People/fans need to understand SJR will only be backing this with his money only when he buys all of United and becomes a majority owner . He’s not doing anything as a minority stake owner .He may need to outlay anywhere between 10-14bn for full club ownership and this huge Old Trafford infrastructure project . The glazers are the only people standing in the way of this right now , so until SJR buys them out this is just talk .
Anyone saying we shouldn’t move haven’t been to Old Trafford in a while clearly 😂 leg room is awful, spacing is cramped and facilities and infrastructure are so outdated.
They might as well, they are going through Emirates Stadium Growing pains without the Emirates Stadium to match. Wasted their spending in regard to on field success, at least improve the grounds and throw in a cinema for the Fergie era highlight DVDs.
