Not really a person can walk can they not. A man or woman can easily walk across the Russian border. In eastern Russia theres the city of Blagoveshchensk Its 1 km across from heibe and when ur in heibe u take a bus to mongolia . Its easy .
@@ThePhantom712 you'd have to apply for a biometric passport first. then get to the border. have funds to stay afloat abroad for quite some time. all of it costs money & takes time and not everyone can afford it. in september, all plane & train ticket prices skyrocketed because most were sold out (idk about now). people had to travel by car for thousands of kms and stay in traffic for days before the opportunity to actually cross the border. so yeah, only the privileged and desperate ones could leave the country.
It's a matter of wishes. For example, 1-bedroom apartment in Moscow costs 150 000$, it's enough to buy an airplane ticket and book hotels. A poor man from small cities can take a credit to buy tickets.
@@laincoubert7236 Privilege this privilege that. Wealth comes from smart work, not "privilege" as poors like you seem to love to use to convince yourself because you haven't done anything in life.
That last look the woman gives the camera as she crosses the border is so subtly incredible. Getting a Russian to smile at all is difficult, but you can see the relief glowing from her.
Where she was I cross that same path almost everyday as I’m a local. Sadly, considering how Putin chased out well over a Half a Million and Counting(+) of its Best and Brightest because they can't bear to take part in his psychopathic murderous bent of their good & beautiful neighbor, unfortunately, the future looks bleak for the elder and incapacitated Russia in the near future - until at least one or two generations after Putin's end.
I am Russian born serving in the United States Army and I'm so proud of my fellow Russians taking the harrowing task of immigrating to the US just how I did many many years ago.
Sorry, but replacing one Imperialist military for another isn't anything to be proud of. We human beings of planet earth should stop fighting for any Imperialist force, and only fight for the liberation of the citizens of earth to free themselves from Imperialists and their yoke. Look at the pain and misery the US military has unleashed since its inception. It's not anything to be proud of any more than being part of the Russian Federation military apparatus.

@@iamhardwell2844 This is a misleading & FALSE statement that Russian-supporters in Ukraine will say. Russian was never banned in media & schools in Ukraine. Many Ukrainians (including myself) speak fluent Russian & indulge in Russian media. I also know plenty of eastern Ukrainians who do not associate themselves with Russia. This is Russian propaganda from within Ukrainian borders. If someone is unhappy with their way of life in Ukraine & want to join the Russian Federation (where they have no toilets, no plumbing, barely any money, communism, etc.) then they should move across the border to Russia & not support a bloody war. This is how Russian war supporters manipulate the media & spread false information.
Literally zero normal russians will ever get forcibly drafted, and even if they magically did they can go live visa-free 365 days in Georgia where the living standards are better than 90% of Europe anyways. These guys are economic migrants, nothing more.

I support them as long as they are truly anti Putin, and aren't just fleeing not to get drafted and still passively supporting the war. We've seen too many of those cases in Germany.
They're not anti-Putin. Putin won the last election with more than 77% of the vote on the promise of Restoring the glory of the old Russian Empire. They wanted this war and then ran like cowards when they found out they may be forced to serve. Send them all home where they belong.
The russian way of life and mentality enabled Putin's rule for decades and they have history of feeling as the superior slav nations, it's not just the leader, it's the nation. Now, they don't want to lose lives and want to leave. Most of them did nothing for years and now cry. People in the west still don't understand that vast majority of russians are not victims of Putin regime, he is a product of the russian nature.
Please do not put Ukrainians and russians in one sentence with the same connotation. russians affected by the war are not victims they are silent mules afraid to fight for their rights. Unlike Ukrainians.
My cousin was one of those people. Except from Belarus and not Russia. Even getting to the border is incredibly hard. Mexican police is everywhere along the route. She was apprehended by the US Border Patrol immediately after crossing the border. Soon she will be going to immigration court for a hearing on political asylum where the judge will determine if her case is valid or not.
Living in Mexico, and not the USA, is great, too. The Mexican people are warm and welcoming. There is plenty of opportunity here, so if the USA turns out be unattainable, don't hesitate to put down roots in Mexico.

One of the major Reasons is Money of course , but look how many different people are living in the US , the US is different in this matter an artificial construct , there will always be a Migrant group hierarchy , so there is also an atmosphere or thinking that you can change the regime into something that benefits you and your People , this is why there are so many Lobbyists . I mean what is America or being an American anyway , it's just the biggest company in the world , and the management can be replaced .
I don't think they are first choice, Americans just only report the news on themselves and ignore stories you can't see yourself as relevant to, cos some of you guys are kind of self obsessed and those are whom your news media pander to. Plenty of countries have Russian refugees, most of them are in bordering states. The USA has a lot more space and money than those countries so it is not feasible for them all to go next door. Next door is also a lot more likely to be next on Putin's hit list.

My heart goes out to the Russians who've had to flee their country and leave their whole way of life behind, all because they don't want to fight and die in a madman's war.
@@tanyaa8852 While this is true, this does not take away from their suffering. It is not easy having to leave your country and your language, your whole life behind. These folks are being painted as outlaws, and traitors by their nations people and government, because they don’t want to fight and die in what they know is an unjust, illegal, disgusting war. They can’t go back to their homes and families because they’ll more than likely be tossed into a prison and then be force fed into the meat grinder right after. It’s horrible and although Ukrainians suffer under bombs and missiles destroying their nation, we should not give in to blind nationalistic hate just because these folks are Russian. "Either they stay alive, or they go to the front line for no reason, where you'd be required to kill people who did nothing bad to you, and potentially return in a coffin." Pretty much sums up the whole of Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq 2003 invasions. The only thing different about this conflict is the aggressor actually the "bad" guy and not a supposed "good" guy.
We undertook this journey as a family a year ago. Now, more than ever, my family and I understand the feelings of these people. It's indescribable; it's a nightmare. It's difficult to convey the path one must now take to get from Russia to the USA. In terms of stress, it's comparable only to the death of a loved one. My wife and I, both medical professionals, lost everything: good jobs, a business, our standing. We had to leave everything behind for the sake of saving our child's life and our own. Since 2014, we haven't supported the current regime in Russia, but the opposition itself is weak and fragmented in this country. Before the war, remnants of the opposition were simply exterminated, and expressing one's opinion was dangerous. Now, you can end up in prison for several years for a drawing or a poster with a couple of words. I don't believe that anything will change in Russia, even when the bloodthirsty monster Putin dies. There won't be democracy in this country for a very long time, and it will never be safe here. I'm glad that everyone who can and wants to is fleeing. Usually, these people are capable, hardworking, and intelligent. They are incredibly resilient psychologically because going through this path now is already a feat. Russia doesn't need these people; let them contribute to civilized countries like the USA. Good luck to them!"
About a month ago I was in McAllen, TX, a small city just across the border from Reynosa, MX. As I was preparing to leave my motel, I encountered a group of Russians (about a dozen) who were staying in the same motel. About an hour later I saw them again at the Greyhound bus station. I talked to them a bit, but they didn't speak much English and I didn't want to appear nosy. I hope they are doing well.
Better than Russia. Russia is poorer than Mexico. Crime and drugs are about the same. Gracias a ustedes Mexicanos que respetan los migrantes mejor que mi Pais.
Great point. Sounds incredibly hypocritical, and you’d think that’d be untrue being that they are coming to Russia’s “rival” country but I believe it. Typical these days from people: “It’s okay as long as it’s not happening to me”
Precisely. They flood social media platforms with pro-Putler propaganda, and inflict stunningly cruel insults to Ukrainian victims of these horrific and barbaric crimes, and even fundraise to send support to the brutal Ruzzian aggressors, all from the comfort and safety of other countries... Those same other countries they openly berate, but who live freely precisely BECAUSE of the bravery and sacrifice of those who fought, suffered, and died for it.
"Give me your poor, your tired, your huddled masses, yearning to breathe free." Humbling to think that, in this time of cynicism, these words still ring true for so many. And that they were originally penned by a woman who advocated for refugees fleeing persecution by the Tsars. Best of luck to the Russians leaving behind everything they know to avoid serving in this unjust war.
Brave to flee like rats? If they were brave, they would’ve stayed behind and fought their regime that is killing the innocent. Ukrainian men are brave, russian are just opportunists

The amount of approving and rejoicing comments of ordinary Russians under videos of the atrocities done to civilians in Ukraine were no less a shock for Ukrainians than the war itself. Mexico needs to take advantage of this situation and not for selfish reasons. For one, many cultures and nationalities are "stranded" along the border. Look at what the Haitians are doing in Tijuana. They are setting up their Little Haiti's with prosperous small businesses, helping out the local economy, heck there's even Asian communities in Mexicali and by Monterrey. Not just that, but it would be a rich cultural hodgepodge of various nationalities just in Mexico. Little Haiti's, Chinatowns and Koreatowns next to Russian Orthodox churches in Mexico, not only would it be a economic and human capital enrichment, but a cultural one as well. Imagine the possibilities....🤔🤔🤔
Mexico has always been incredibly diverse throughout its existence. Most Americans think Mexico is homogenous, but nothing could be further from the truth.
Yea but the putin would claim Mexico is oppressing russians and try to annex that territory. This is literally why many countries ban russians from entering. Before the Baltic countries joined NATO, putin was shipping homeless and prostitutes to either Latvian or Lithuanian towns in order to then claim it as russia. They es done it in Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine (that’s why they kidnapped Ukrainian children)
People really be thinking Mexico is a super dangerous place to be, and that´s not true. We´ve always kept our borders opened to migrants from all over the world and we do our best to give them food, shelter and cover their basic needs. A lot of migrants wait here until they´re cleared to enter the USA but many others choose to start a new life here! Yes, we have our issues with insecurtiy mainly due to cartels supplying the huge demand of drugs from the USA but if your´re not involved with ilicit activities it´s rare you will get harmed in any way while being here.
I see what your getting at but no it is really dangerous to be in Mexico, the chance of something bad happening to you is exponentially higher if your not from mexico because you are more likely to be taken advantage of because you don’t know the terrain or culture. Poor Russians, they are running away from the war they themselves started. We do not currently see Russians protesting against the bloody regime, but we see many Russians in long queues at the border to leave the country. @@joselopez-kx3sm it's more to do with cultural differences actually, since what you mention is true but in any case makes it easier to navigate the system as they did back home. English is more easy for a Russian to speak (due to cultural influence and the effects of the Cold War) as well as there being a much larger Russian community already established in the US, giving them economic opportunities and a buffer in getting used to a different culture and speaking a different language. The same is much less prevalent in Mexico, but even then the number of Russian migrants to Mexico has increased significantly too. Grandpa came to the states from Germany. I wonder if he was escaping a war torn country. He passes before my 2nd birthday. Nobody told me how or why he left his old home. We're not Jewish or Nazis. I assume he just got the hell out of a messed up situation.
Thought I might put the offical numbers for which country has taken in the most Ukrainians. Poland: 1.6 million Canada: 1.2 million Germany 1.1 million Czechia: 500k America: 90k
Your number on Canada is way too high. Canada has taken around 130,000 Ukrainian refugees. This should not be surprising as Canada is far away. After all, 1.2 million is 5000 airplane loads, or about 13-14 airplanes full of Ukrainians every day since the beginning of the war. The other numbers look right.
Same. All these Russians, they get to skip the line and not have to deal with what brown and black migrants have to deal with. If they denounce Russia, then fine, I am a bit more accepting, but if not, we will have problems
I am an American citizen, disabled veteran, in the Philippines with a Filipina wife. It is a damn shame to watch people walk into my country while we wait for a visa, trying to do it legally.q
That sounds really dumb. If you're an American citizen, you don't need a Visa to get into the country. But you should already have a passport. Doesn't make sense what you're saying, or you just don't know what you're talking about.
It is hard to have a lot of sympathy for these people. They choose to flee instead of staying and fighting for the democracy they claim they want. If it is, indeed, "one man's war" the way to stop it seems pretty straightfoward.
Did they at least hide their "Z" shirts and stickers from the cameras this time?? These same people crawl through SM trolling for Putler against Americans, Europeans, Canadians, Japan, etc., and especially Ukrainians. They fundraise to support Putler's brutality. They only run to save their own skins, and they run to the very countries they've been bashing for their entire lives.

Canada is super full of asylum seekers. I have a Mexican friend who migration process get stopped since the beggining of the war, cause Ukrainians and Russians have priority.
(Born and raised US here, and fully support 🇺🇦.) I have mixed feelings about the Russians fleeing…I certainly don’t blame them from wanting out of their country, but I also have never understood why when given an opportunity, the Russian people never worked to change their government. I grew up during the Cold War and saw the Wall come down, Germany reunite, and multiple former Soviet bloc countries become democratic. (No country is perfect…so please, no “what about-ism”.) Every time Russia has a major political shift (WWI, 1930s, 1990s, 2022) what happens is simply a brain drain while the government becomes more and more dictatorial. The educated with enough determination leave for other countries. I understand not wanting to be in a war. However, I don’t understand how men are simply fleeing, leaving their wives and children behind to deal with the aftermath and the crisis in Russia. Do they think their wives and children will not have any repercussions? Do they think that the Russian borders wont close at any second? While I understand wanting to escape a totalitarian regime, I don’t understand simply fleeing and leaving those dependent on you behind to suffer the consequences. Additionally, I’m not seeing (or perhaps media is not showing) Russians who have left doing anything to change the situation in their country or to help Ukrainians. I only hear “I don’t want to fight in a war.” Ukrainians don’t want to fight either, but they are fighting and defending themselves, their family and their country. I only see Russians running (and the majority are males running alone, often with underage children left to who knows what fate at home.) To me, this says a lot. Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦
this is old news. theres thousands of russians and ukranians in southern california. they were given priority over others to come through our borders. Vice didnt touch on any of that how theyre given so much priviledge.
I can’t help but think of these people as cowards. I have thought the same about Central Americans coming to our border instead of fighting for their livelihood, their country. I’m not a pro-American person either, but there’s something to be said about the spirit of fighting for your liberties.
They tried a lot but nothing happend In Russia when the war just started there were quite a number of protests throughout the country, but again nothing... Also u can be jailed or tortured by participating in the rally, and it is not a joke you can goggle it Regular people has not got a right to vote and has not got a right to change anything I dont know anybody here who support it(not counting the old people who were brainwashed) We dont want this war
What liberties? In Russia they have very little freedom of speech compared to the west, and if they simply don't agree with dying for a country who oppressed their freedoms in the first place I can't blame them.
The way Putin speaks about his own people, calling them "assholes and flies that need to be spit out" if they're not 100% loyal to Russia is insane. Imagine a president calling his citizens flies because they don't agree with him. How anyone can look at this man and think he's anything but an insecure dictator is beyond me.

Exactly! They talk so badly about the USA and us Americans until it’s convenient for them to try take advantage and mooch off our resources.
Free money and a wide open border.
Movado. Exactly!!!

Long history of immigration to Mexico...Germans, Lebanese...
They could even sing songs and hold hands together? What’s stopping this ? Is it the wind ?
Let's have that here in the USA. Make America rich instead.
Im just going of pure statistics & statistically Mexico is a war zone crippled by corrupt officials. 95% of my family lives in Mexico & i remember when i was 11 we could no longer visit them because mexico had become way too dangerous even just to visit ( mind you my entire family is Mexican people & not foreigners ) im 21 for reference. Northern states is where most of the cartel violence you hear on the news comes from. Even Mexicans find out about it from the news.
@@Sam-mw1to I also get what you´re saying, I want to clarify I´m not saying you can just come to Mexico as a foreigner and have no worries. No whataboutism.
Poor Russians, they are running away from the war they themselves started. We do not currently see Russians protesting against the bloody regime, but we see many Russians in long queues at the border to leave the country. These adult men and women lived peacefully in Russia while their fellow citizens killed, tortured and raped people in Ukraine, and when the war touched them, they immediately fled the country and declared themselves refugees.
