Hi Jason , Sorry to hear of your father’s family being mostly lost in the War , but I’m glad to see that he was able to make here to the U.S. and have a family. Thanks for posting .

@@oldrover3007 Thanks for the reply. There is a entire story behind his journey. His brother ended up in Europe somewhere but he never had contact after the war. His sister , my Aunt was the only relative I got to know as she and him were brought to the US. Even then both of them crossed the ocean in two different ships but connected once they got here. I believe he and some other children escaped from a train. He ended up in an orphanage in Austria before America brought survivors over. It was hard to get info from him growing up as he pretty much tried to block out what he went through, and I could never find info on my grand parents from their names searching online. He did though enlist in the Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict when he was a little older. I always wished I could visit where he grew up, it's like a part of my heritage thats missing. Thanks again for your reply.

@@jasoneric6303 I figured there was more to the story . Although you weren’t able to find too much Imfo , what you did find is very interesting and stories like it are worth telling. They are part of the reason my father and many thousands volunteered to help free Europe . That story and Men like your father are what makes America great .

I can't watch these videos without feeling jealous. I live in Canada, and where I live the most major historical event that occurred was a battle in 1813. Someone in my area (Digging Canuck on YT), found a badge apparently. Musket balls aren't uncommon either. Even though I have family that had fought, I don't have any of their belongings other than a post-war pocket knife, or pictures from the 40s. Yet another great video, keep up the great work.

That little water reservoir sure held many valuable WW2 treasures, and you probably located only a few of them HH & EE. You definitely should utilize your certified diver status for one of your water adventures HH. What are you waiting for? 😅 The 3M neo magnet pull was a handy tool bringing up all those items. Gotta love those waders. Awesome finds EE on pulling up the MG Magazine, carrying case for the artillery shell, K98 Rifle bolt, cartridges, and MG belt. You rock!!!! You will have that German helmut and heel irons cleaned up in no time HH - great find. Continue to stay safe you two. Looking forward to your return with the Fi-fish.

My dad grew up in Ludinghausen. There was a pond behind his house. The house is now gone and a church parking lot sits there. He told me that alot of soldiers thru some of there stuff in the pond after the war and even during the war. Did you ever check up on those two tunnels that i told you about in Bad Reichenhall. Now they were there back in the early 80's. They went back pretty far. Never know what you might find in those tunnels.

Hunter: yay, cartridge! Later breaks the nice magazine, sinks into riverbed.
Eagle eyes: casually pulls out machine gun belt, recognizes the part of heel iron prior to dad (he said "it's from shoe"), pays attention to other side of the magnet (there was another cartridge), finds extremely cool stuff, not sinks in a riverbed.

Hi, just wanted to say that this is truly my favourite channel. My dad served in the British Merchant Marine and RN in the war, and both my brother and I have been keen amateur historians of that period. Your channel awakes the kid in me who loves exploring as you do, so I guess I kind of feel myself living vicariously through you hehe.
Just a question: Have you thought of snorkeling, or even scuba diving? I get the feeling you may have in previous videos, but I can't recall.
Following on from that - I was thinking you may want to make a bucket with a plexiglass bottom so you can see what lies beneath as you wade out. You could also take a cheap, plastic inflatable kiddie boat with you to put the finds in as you go, instead of having to wade back to shore every time you find a large item. Dang, I really am living vicariously here lol.
Can't wait for your next adventure - Cheers!

Some lovely results ! The bolt on its own .. standard procedure to disable a weapon when captured from being of use to the Other Side ... remove the bolt and throw it where it can't be found ... and along you guys come along 70 plus years later and recover it. Well done !

Great finds!!! I myself found an MG15 Magazine too, together with an MG15exchange-barrel. The remaining parts in the magazine are actually no rounds but were put there at the end of a magazineload in case the spring didn´t function as it should, like when it was overused and not as strong as it used to be, then still all the real bullets would be pushed to the MG.

Great finds again, you and Eagle Eyes get the Lucky Dog for finding that German helmet! That was a very cool video, going out and putting your hands on history has got to be the coolest thing ever! When I was a young Marine and stationed in Okinawa Japan I found a number of things just by accident, an old Marine Corps helmet and a rusty 45 cal. Pistol more than ounce, hand grenades. Love your work, you are one of my favorite U-TUBER. 👍👍👍👍👍❤🇺🇸

Incredible finds in the water. Is that the helmut that you restored back a while? EE is getting so big and mature. You can see he is really into finding things. Give him a few years and he will be making it a compitition on who finds the best stuff. Then the pressure is on. That's how it was with my dad and I shooting at the rifle range. By time I was 16 we were betting money. It's coming. I can't wait. Happy History Hunting my friend.
