    I myself love to magnet fish as well. The thing that worries me about the technique being used in this video is that you can't see what you're getting your magnet stuck on and you're basically right on top of your finds. What if as your fishing you accidentally snag the pin of the grenade that you're standing right on top of??? I know the ones found in this video were uncharged but they could've just as easily been charged. And if you set off one of those under feet you're dead for sure. Along with the fact that the one you accidentally detonate could detonate the others right around you and your friends. It's not exactly safe to do it with a room from a bridge either but at least you're not right on top of it. I love the history you guys find. It's awesome to see all the things you find. Keep up the good work. PLEASE be safe!

    its not surprising that you found that French Grenade, as the Germans used more French equipment in the war than the French did lol. here in Jersey, our German built bunkers were fitted with French 10.5 guns and had FT-17 turrets on them. even the Panzer-Abteilung 213 which was stationed here drove French Char B1's, which was renamed Panzerkampfwagen B-2.

    • @mdww2battlegrounds
      @mdww2battlegrounds  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very interesting. I think there is a good chance that the Germans indeed are responsible for this French material that we found. They probably took it in 1940 when they captured France. Thank you for your comment. Cheers!

      In Jersay (Anglo-Norman island) In 1941. The Wehrmacht, unaware that the islands had been demilitarized on the orders of Churchill, had a very cautious approach to its invasion. The Germans sent a squadron of bombers on missions over the islands and bombed the ports of Jersey and Guernsey. 44 islanders were killed during these air raids. but it was actually convoys loaded with tomatoes !

    I flinch every time I see you poking the water bed as hard as you do. Unexploded ordnance is notoriously unstable. I appreciate that the grenades were not charged, but that bullet most definitely was....and a single tap on the end of the casing could surely fire it? Fascinating....but worrying!
