  • To understand the current war in Gaza, you have learn about the founding of the state of Israel and what that meant for the Palestinians who had been living there. Before Benjamin Netanyahu or Hamas, there was Zionism, the Balfour Declaration and the Nakba. This is how Israel was created.

You weren't taught it because this video is made up propaganda. You've COMPLETELY ignored thousands of years of well documented history. If you want to ignore the bible and that God created the Jewish homeland thousands of years ago when He promised it to Abraham (2042 BC) and his descendants forever, fine. But quick history lesson for you, son. There is substantial evidence showing israelites in 1250 bc entered Canaan and began conquering it (just as the Bible says). Jump a head to King David who reigned over the JEWISH kingdom of ISRAEL from 1000 to 962 bce. Eventually, the kingdom split and the two halves were ultimately conquered by Assyria and Babylon. But Jews still lived in Isreal under occupation. After Babylon was the Medo-Persians then Alexander the great around 329bc. After them the Romans. Roman Emperor Hadrian changed the provincial administrative name of Judaea to Palestine to erase the Jewish presence in the land but the JEWS were still there. Then Eventually the Ottoman Empire conquered the Byzantine empire and the region fell under their control. Many jews were still their and after the defeat of the Ottoman empire Jews around the world were allowed to return to THEIR ancestral homeland. Your video is an embarrassment and very transparent. Anyone that studies history sees it for the BS propaganda it is. Anyone who has doubt, go research the "west bank" and why it's called that. It's real name going back THOUSANDS OF WELL DOCUMENTED YEARS is Judea and Samaria.

And for those in younger generations the availability of quality information far exceeds that that was available in say the 80s or 90s.
Take the war in Ukraine for example, the media coverage will have its way with bias just as it did in historic wars, but when have we ever had up-to-the-day accurate information streams from an ongoing major world event? Curated and distributed by the people living it.
I just think it is easy to write off younger generations as ignorant and blinkered as so many generations have before - but it’s not necessarily the reality. And those of us who have a natural interest in historic and political subjects are relatively spoilt with the number of sources with which we can balance their biases and form an opinion.

Watching a documentary that presents the formation of modern Israel in such a grim light is personally jarring for me. I had long held the view of Israel as a sanctuary for a people who had suffered immeasurable atrocities. To suddenly be confronted with the idea that its foundation is marred by acts of violence, terrorism, and potentially even genocide against Palestinians shakes the core of what I thought I knew. It's like experiencing a form of betrayal, where a narrative I held to be virtuous is revealed to have dark undertones. It's not just an intellectual exercise in reassessing history; it's a gut punch that makes me question the stories we're told and the stories we choose to believe. It's a painful reckoning with complexity in a world that's easier to navigate in black and white.

This "documentary" forgets to mention a lot of important facts though. Such as the arab pogroms that had been going on for 100s of years against jews in the middle east. They forget to mention that one million jews in the middle east were driven off in their own "al nakba" event. But somewhow that doesn't qualify. They also don't elaborate on "majority arab" - that's only if you count the whole mandatory palestine which is huge, in the areas where jews settled they were the majority. They also don't mention that arab leaders co operated with Hitler to set up their own "final solution" in the middle east. With this background it becomes very understandable that the 2 million jews (out of 1 million were middle eastern natives) wanted their own state and no to be a tiny minority in an arab state. Also, the video doesn't mention that all arab countries declared war on Israel on it's inception, instead it makes it out as if Israel just willy nilly attacked the poor arabs and drove them off.

Jewish people were certainly not doing well for thousands of years after being kicked out of their homeland by the Romans. Something needed to be done. The British just botched the way in which they helped Jews return home and gain self-determination. I personally don't know what I would have done myself, but saying nothing needed to be done is a rather ignorant take, no?

Not really, Ottoman's decided to join Germany in WW1 by attacking the Russians who were allies with the British. They failed in a conquest for land and as a result the Ottoman Empire (including modern day Israel & Palestine) became controlled by the British.
While the British did a poor job of separating the land, it was their land won through a war which they did not initiate.
While these facts don't justify what has happened since, war and conquest has occurred with every country on Earth. Every country today has borders which were formed and changed throughout history in the same way, and in the case of Israel the British were not the ones to initiate the conflicts that led to the exchange of land.

Millions of Germans were expelled from their homeland, when a part of Germany was annexed by Poland after the WWII. At the same time, millions of Poles were expelled from their homeland, when a part of Poland was annexed by the USSR. This was absolutely tragic. However, the descendants of those people don’t call themselves refugees, they are fully integrated members of the community where their ancestors were forced to relocate.
The Arab countries neighbouring Israel seem to spectacularly fail at it. No one should live in a refugee camp through generations. Syria had many decades to integrate those, who fled Palestine and their children. Yet it looks like it prefers to keep people in misery throughout generations, call “refugees” those, who were born in Syria to parents, who were also born there, and keep the generational trauma and hatred alive.

Sadly, it, like many others, ignores the second clause of the one-sentence-long Balfour Declaration, never uttering it, while going so far as to keep the lower half of the document (when shown) out of focus. It is the "understanding" of the British mentioned there that the Zionists trampled on at the cost of many thousands of Palestinian lives. It was after multiple Jewish uprisings that the Romans finally ousted them and sent the remaining population of fewer than 30,000 Jews dispersed throughout the Roman Empire. They re-named the region "Palestine" and the Arab population of the region (who had never given Rome much trouble) were allowed to stay. They became known as Palestinians. Most of them were Christians at the time and the rest practiced Judaism. So the people we call Palestinians never were settlers of the area. They were always there along with the Jews. One were descendants of Abraham through Isaac. The others were descendants of Abraham through Ishmael. The fact is that it's the ancestral home of BOTH Israelis and Palestinians and for this crap to ever reconcile they BOTH are going to have to accept that truth.

In their eyes obviously it's a big NO, but regardless of everything that maybe against them in terms of military hardware technology and so forth, the Palestinian muslims will always defend their families their homeland their right and their honour against a zionist apartheid Israeli state which is the most cowardly bunch of so called men and women in the world, it's gotten so bad lately that even Christians are also targeted nowadays, if your a Palestinian whether your muslim or Christian regardless it don't matter to them, they will target you, just take a moment and think deeply about if the shoe was on the other foot, OMG, if the muslims we're doing this to the Israelis/Jews, storming in their homes in the middle of the nights, killing their loved ones, arresting little little children with guns rifles in your faces, bombing and killing civilians with drones and rockets, bulldozing your homes, thieving your homes and your land, the list goes on and on and on, I could go on all night but I'm most certainly sure and understand where you know I'm coming from with the list of endless atrocities and crimes committed against the Palestinians, now as I said, if this was the Palestinian muslims doing this to the Israelis/Jews, we would have the whole world and I mean the enire world coming on top of our head's, and this has been going on for 75 year's against the Palestinian people, and then the west calls the likes of hamas and fatah terrorists, the double standards and the hypocrisy is beyond anything I've ever witnessed, may Allah the almighty destroy the oppressers and give glad tidings and victory to the believers

In this case, no doubt the Hamas are doing what fanatical men with weapons and hate in their hearts do best - butcher and kill for any reason. If that can be justified by a warped ideology and supported by an evil overlord, then all the better. Iran certainly has a lot to answer for as the driver and financial base of much of this fanatical violence against Israel.
It must be said, however, that the Israelis are not exactly squeaky clean, though in no way do their actions justify the atrocities that are unfolding right now. The Palestinian situation is nothing more than a weak excuse for these "Jihadi butchers", who doubtless got their sanction from Tehran for other reasons (deep hatred of Israel; to undermine a nuclear agreement between the Saudis, the US and Israel etc.). Who pays the price? The innocents just trying to go about their lives - particularly women, children and the elderly.

Palestine was "owned" by the Ottoman Empire, not the Palestinians (Muslims, Jews, or Christians). After that it was "owned" by the British Empire. By 1948 the inhabitants were fighting among themselves to the extent that the British just wanted to get rid of the problem. In accordance with UN instructions the Brits granted independence to both the Jews and the Arabs in designated areas and basically washed their hands of the whole affair. After that, who "owned" what was decided by military power (so what else is new?).
Incidentally, Jordan took the opportunity to "own" some of Palestine for itself (the West Bank) and Egypt took the Gaza Strip. The Arab inhabitants of Palestine were pretty much double screwed.

Theres been some interesting findings over the last decade about Khrushchev seeing the massive spending as a “future problem” for the country as a whole and it’s been speculated this was what started fellow Soviet leaders to oust him because “it was a sign of weakness they didn’t want ANYONE to see.” While Brezhnev kept up the “appearances” the staunch communist wanted, his people secretly knew they were spending way more than what they would be about to recoup long term (hence they gave up on going to the moon). China has the benefit of this Soviet hindsight. What’s interesting is how China has gone “hybrid-communistic” and how well they will be able to “rein it in” when needed. This is the Palestine perspective, not necessarily the "right perspective". The ancient Romans pinned the name on what was then the Land of Israel. In 135 CE, after stamping out the province of Judea’s second insurrection, the Romans renamed the province Syria Palaestina-that is, “Palestinian Syria.” They did so as a punishment, to obliterate the link between the Jews and Israel with their hated monotheism. “Palaestina” referred to the Philistines, whose home base had been on the Mediterranean coast. This is recorded, factual history. While interesting, this video would have one believe that Hertzl dreamed up a Jewish homeland fifty years before the reality, when in fact the Jews have been trying to return to the land they believe was granted to them by Moses for more than 3,000 years:( Read the prayer offered on Passover-it ends with; "Next year in Jerusalem." The situation is horrid for all involved and there are enough bad guys to go around, but there is also real, documented, unbiased, recorded history to be had. A 15 minute very biased video does no one any good.

Unfortunately, you came across to people that are hard enough and won't let you occupy it easily. So, stop making origions and rootings. If it was from long ago why you wait for British under 20th century, was that written in your holy book? It is just randomly so stop selling cheats.

A link to the version of this video without any background music would be rewarded with a subscription.
    Thank you very much.
Just as thousands of other people, who suffer from enhanced hearing as a result of Covid, any background music is very irritating.
But, it looks like your documentary is of a very high quality and the subject is riveting, therefore not requiring anything to make the suffering of watching this easier.
We don't suffer, we're very interested in this, and some of us need to concentrate in peace to properly absorb information, and to remember it.
This music might not be also everyone else's choice, although the subject is.
Background music was added when we weren't able to synchronise the audio and video , therefore live music was played along films in the theatres.
Then, we figured out how to record sound and video, but we kept the music!!
My best regards and appreciation of your knowledge of the subject.
    Best wishes for the future.
Thank you again and sorry for complaining.
I hope, you'll find the need for background music strange after reading my observations.
    My best wishes again. 😊

Thank you for the history lesson. I have never really understood the series of events that led to all of the conflict. I suspect however, that its genesis pre-dates 1917 by a thousand years or so. That's why it's so impossible to choose a villain and a victim. I think we need to find a win-win solution for the current reality rather than try to right the wrongs of the past. Because how far back do you go? But I am completely ignorant of the history and have much to learn. Thanks for getting me on the path to understanding. 🙏🏻

I think the more you try to isolate yourself as ‘the chosen people’ based on your religious believes, the more you will always want to fight to stay separated from other nations. As long as that’s the belief, the war will never end. No one is too special or more equal than another, we are all mere human beings just passing by, just live in harmony with others.

The British government said in public they were doing things to calm the violence, but behind the scenes, everything was done to promote conflict between Jews and Muslims. Britain had promised Arabia was now for the Arabs after Britain had used the Arabs to defeat the German/Ottoman empire during WW1. So how does Britain go back on its word and defeat Arabia? Left unchecked, Arabia, with all its vast wealth from colossal oil reserves, could grow to eclipse Western powers someday. Especially when one-quarter of the world's population was Muslim. Muslims and Christians had been at war for over a thousand years. From the start (1918), Britain went into Palestine by force until war finally broke out in 1936, and hundreds of Muslim towns were massacred, and Jews took their homes.
At this time (1936), the population of Palestine was only 1 million, 70% Muslims. Most of Palestine was empty land. Taking other people's homes and land was not necessary. I submit the violence was led, inspired, and organized by Britain and the US for a reason, knowing it would create a perpetual war in the middle of Arabia. A perpetual war between Jews and Muslims. Nothing is more destabilizing to a nation (and thus weakening) than a war within or near its borders. War in the middle of the Middle East would destabilize and weaken all of Arabia, thus retarding their development so as to never one day challenge the Christian white empire of the US and UK. However, to those arab nations that bow down to US interests, a few at the top of those nations would be allowed to benefit profoundly. A perpetual war keeps Israel dependent on the US and the UK for its survival. In return, the US gets a military base in the middle of the Middle East and a proxy to do all its fighting for them -- namely Israel.

This video leaves out a massive part of early history. Jewish heritage stretches back over 3,000 years. Historians and archeologists point to artifacts and historical writings that prove the connection between the land of Israel and the Jewish people. Hebrew inscriptions have been found on thousands of artifacts dating as far back as the 6th century BC. In addition to Jewish sources, an Egyptian document dating to approximately 1200 BC mentions a campaign in which an Egyptian ruler says he has defeated Israel.
“Israel is no more,” the document reads, probably the worst prophecy ever made about the Jews, since you know, the Jews are still here.
The Hebrew Bible is of course much more than a book of history, but there’s a lot of verified history in it. The fact that Jerusalem is mentioned 669 times in its pages confirms that the city is central to the Jewish identity.
