    I’m an hvac worker, and i love and hate diy home owners. i’m a diy person myself so home owners trying to do things themselves to save a buck I understand.
    The thing i have a beef with is diy-ers who don’t know when to call it a day, by the time they realize it themselves it’s too late and when plumbers or hvac or electricians go in it’s generally too late to save what’s existing.
    i walked into a similar situation, customer changed out board, inducer, flame rod, rollout, what was really needed when i was there was a heat exchanger, but the wiring and overall shape of the furnace and positioning didn’t have 12 inches of clearance in front of furnace it would have been a nightmare to replace. Found out he installed the furnace.
    Told him what needed replacing and given the lack of space to put it in i smiled and said good luck. i knew it was going to be a problem for him acquiring the parts and even more of a problem installing it. i almost wish i could see him trying to install it.

    I wonder it that tight mesh screen might have been getting ice crystals freezing on it at times & blocking the vent? The best thing you did was take that vent cover off of there. Somebody should have done that a long time ago. 👍

    You may want to check the manifold pressure. Lots of times on propane the pressures are not set correctly. Maybe she’s over firing or under firing. The fix on the exhaust is a good start though. I would have snorkeled the exhaust up a foot or so and turned it out with a 90.🇨🇦👍

    Maybe next time instead of damaging the customer’s case coil, just take the panel off the case coil then pull the cover off the front of the coil. You could probably see the whole heat exchanger with your camera.

  • @zack9912000

    Those owners are a nightmare, they throw parts at it and call a pro out when they can't figured it out. We find the issue and never call us back, they order their own parts to try and fix it. After they screw that up they call and lie. Those people I never feel bad about a large bill

    Worst looking burners I've ever seen

  • @Grrrnthumb
    @Grrrnthumb 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Sorry, this is really misdiagnosed. It just needed a new filter, that's it. When you cram an entire Merv 8 rating into 1" instead of the 5" of deep pleats it's supposed to have, then let it cake fully dirty, it causes almost complete blockage and causes all the symptoms described including heating up too hot, cycling off, etc. Dirty & wrong filter was the only thing wrong. The burners weren't fantastic, but you didn't need to touch them at all. To say that it "probably" had bad flame sense before you tickled them is just wrong. You didn't test it first and you can see in the intro the flame jets are fine. Also not cool to claim "those burners are rusted out" when that's just not true at all. Surface rust is not "rusted out". They'll work fine for years. I don't like seeing elderly people taken advantage of like that. Seems like you're the type who always comes back with a 'need a new furnace' diagnosis. :/
