I do think it is less of a luxury than some of the standard features on vehicles. It is crazy that some higher packages do not come with cruise. I think when I was looking at the 3 lowest(out of 6) packages on the colorado and it did not come with cruise, which I feel like it should. I can understand base package not having it but higher packages should.

The trail boss is "supposed " to be the cheaper version on the Colorado truck line . It's like saying that you want the filet mignon for the chuck steak price. It's a "trail boss" not a street boss. Don't need cruise control on the trail.

Seems like a solid truck to me. Then again, I drive a Ram Classic Tradesman- hard plastic everywhere, no telescoping wheel, halogen lights, no power seats, wish it had a rear locker but it does have cruise control. And a naturally aspirated V6 thats puts out 305 HP for about the same money as the Colorado. These budget trucks are exactly what I want.

Why couldn’t they just offer the trail boss with a few more features that the z71 has. Especially the bose sound system. I’m stuck between models. I’m probably going with the z71 and will give it a 2in lift myself with some bigger tires.
Love the front on the truck, the plastic means less paint chips. Halogen lights are easy enough to replace with led. I love the cloth seats, hate leather seats, hate that they always have heated seats...it doesn't get cold enough for that. Don't need a heated steering wheel either...same reason. Do with the steering wheel was leather wrapped, and I wish that it has a telescoping steering wheel, and I wish the massive foot rest wasn't there.
The trail boss should have been an add on package instead of a trim level. I’d rather have the z71 interior, with the trail boss exterior. That would also give you the option to get the factory led headlights.

Disappointed that the “rear locker” is really more of a limited slip than a true locking differential. I would’ve loved to see that as an option as the trail boss price point.
The biggest thing for me is no extended or single cab options, im a huge sucker for single cab short beds with a fat motor under the hood. This thing would look beautiful as a single cab but nope! Everybody wants the 4 doors and lift kits nowadays.

If you're buying a truck for looks, go for the z71. If your actual buy this off-road trim to actually use it for what it can do.... off-road, that front end will be much better than getting chips. If you do any off road, you'll understand.

The 4 cylinder is an absolute unit of an engine - it moves like a bat out of hell when you brake boost it in 4wd
