This looks to be a production-related issue. Hopefully the next iterations will improve dramatically after what they've learned with this launch. The potential to be #1 in the hobby is there.
i find tightening the screws of the metal bolt release does the job on a brand new promax. too much freeplay of the metal bolt release causes lateral movement of the plunger/pusher catch which makes it hard for you to release it,
Yes sir that is correct, I've also noticed some of the Pro Max bolt "stick" thingy is not screwed in all the way to the plunger tube, causing some issues such as wobbly charging handle, and at times sticky bolt. Tightening it all the way in properly will solve all that and make the bolt travel much smoother.
Do you recommend this metal plunger tube/pusher over the nylon one you sell? I heard mentions of this metal one eventually cracking the gear box over time bc of the metal to metal slamming on the return cycle
The one you mentioned is the composite plunger tube/pusher breech, which is the latest revision design from QWK. So yes lol I will recommend that small upgrade. The metal one however is not likely to crack the gearbox especially on the Pro Max because there is 2 rubber padding right in front of the gearbox that prevent metal on metal contact in the return cycle. If anything the alu plunger tube is the one that will get destroyed first, not the 6061 CNC alu gearbox xD
