The fact that this 15 inch laptop does NOT have a numeric pad is by far the BEST design choice of this laptop! Bravo! We need more of these. I still hate the fact that the touchpad is not perfectly centered as it should.
I'd like to see a direct comparison between the Omen 15 2020 and RP15 to check things like which one has the best keyboard and deck temperature, directly comparing the fan noise(I've seen in your videos that you can set both at around 45dbs in office mode but other than the numbers it would be super helpful to hear the "tone" of the sound itself to know if it is high pitched or annoying in anyway), same with keyboard sound and an opinion on their kb switches' feedbacks one next to the other. You covered already screen and battery life but it would be helpful as well to see how big is the difference in everyday use. Anyway great job reviewing this laptops I subscribed, keep it up
This laptop arrived for me yesterday in the UK. 16GB with I7-10750H and RTX2070 Max Q. The right exhaust air will be felt on your mouse hand if you use your mouse in very close proximity to the vent. However, its not enough to bother me and its cool rather than hot air. He is right about the thermals, they are insane.
@@sebastianp4023 the laptop has some heft to it. The fans are 12v, so they sound like a high pitched jet engine at full blast if you so choose. It has a really nice HSF design with 3 i takes and 3 exhausts.

This laptop is too expensive for the specs but the eluktronics is not shipping until at least august so if this drops in price i may jump the gun. The quick review format is interesting but it seems you're rushing thru the review and I'm not sure why? Thanks for this
This is my second attempt at condensing information into about 5 minutes. Maybe I’ll get better. After four years and a few thousand hours of TH-cam work, I’ve got to make some changes because the previous format was barely treading water.
The G14 runs hotter, & has soldered RAM. If you're considering this, it is as he said, the HP Omen (Ok 4.6, as per Bob, doesn't match HP's site) vs the Eluktronics RP 15 (4.2 pounds, maybe a little more with the larger battery, but under 5 pounds). I generally avoid HP, but they slayed the thermals and the bench, so good on them.
Just a heads up, this Omen is 4.6lbs weighed several times along with a few other laptops on hand because it was much lighter than what was posted online. Perhaps they’re using their previous Omen as a weight reference. It felt about as heavy as the MAG 15 and weighed only slightly more.

I am still going with RP 15. It has 16gb memory and a boosted RTX 2060 which performs similar to 2070 max q. It's lighter with similar thermals too. The only thing this HP is better at is webcam placement and a little better battery.

Hey Bob, I got this laptop and applied the g14 trick you mentioned in that video. While the internal temps have shot down so have my fan speeds and it seems the actual chassis of the laptop is getting warmer. Should I be worried? what would you recommend? So I picked up one JUST before you posted this. This laptop is AWESOME for being $1350 (4800H, 1660 ti, 1TB nvme, 144hz display). You are RIGHT on the money about the cooling system. This is now my mobile lab (living out of a trailer for the next year or so). I can play all of my games on max or near max settings and it hums along comfortably. The ONLY worry I have with this thing is that the power supply gets insanely hot while gaming on it. Owners should certainly be sure to keep the power supply on a hard surface and not surrounded by cloth or something that will retain the heat.
the funny thing is, that im watching this on my Omen 15, the last gen one. Still runs good, i hope Omen continues on this Ryzen processor train, either way, all the Omen laptops and desktops i've seen are beastly in performance and they look good too.
Me same, though battery life is basically crap, though I like everything else about it. I think I even prefer the 2020 model for amd + dedicated arrow keys / pgup pgdn.

60C for gpu and 80 C for cpu. Really good thermal performance with keyboard only 31C. 200 watt power supply is interesting when the RP-15 only has a 180 watt power supply and 110W 2060
I picked one of these up earlier today to try it out for 14 days from best buy. It's build is the best around imo. It handles all titles I've thrown at it just fine despite only having a 1660 TI. The speakers are really nice for laptop speakers and the fan noise is not that loud at all to me even without headphones- it's a very soft fan noise. The webcam quality SUCKS though lol but that's honestly just fine with me- Most phones have a better camera than laptops nowadays. Yeah the cooling is really amazing. average 80 cpu and 60 gpu temperatures in battle royales and other intensive games, right out of the box! The keyboard never feels hot but underneath while on my lap the right side you can really start to feel it flame up which is where the cpu is I'm guessing. In July they will have a 16gb with rtx 2060 and ryzen 7 available. I think I'm going to try this one out with everything I do and then go for that model since eluktronics pushed their RP release date to August- If only they could eluktroboost an omen laptop ha. The design also won me over here when comparing eluktronics and hp. Sorry eluk. I'm still a fan of you though. Just purchased and returned this laptop. Nothing necessarily wrong with it. Screen was decent, speakers were ok, temps were good, gaming was great. But..... unfortunately, the weight and omen logo wasn’t for me. It’s weird that that’s my reasoning for returning the product, but if I’m spending $1500 I need to love it. Played around with the zephyrus g14 at Best Buy and decided to order the 2060 variant as my replacement.

Is the AC adaptor running off the standard power cord we use on desktops instead of the ones with mickey mouse shape header ? That is different to most HP notebooks I have seen. A serious thumbs up though for this design.
Absolute monster of a laptop, just picked it up this past Thursday. I was strongly considering the Eluktronics, but the 1660TI is plenty power for my needs and the thermals and cooling design had me sold. Really my only complaints are that you can't adjust the all core boost as well as the fan speeds, hopefully some updates can remedy that.
What about Lenovo Legion 5?! I know it has 1650ti for now but according to Lenovo UK website 1660ti and 2060 will be available in the second half of 2020 presumably in July!
I think there's a lot of promise in these shorter reviews, but I think extending them out a little bit to 7 minutes or so would strike a good balance between your previous and newer styles, and ease the transition a bit. I do appreciate the density of information though, especially with how quickly you move from point to point.
Finally someone has uploaded a review about the laptop and daaamn the pictures didn't do justice, it looks much much better on video 😍 one question though, this laptop with an i7 and rtx 2070maxQ or the 2019 model with the rtx 2070 super maxQ? This laptop arrived for me yesterday in the UK. 16GB of RAM, i7-10750H and RTX 2070 MAXQ. I would get this model. There are benchmarking videos on TH-cam comparing the 2070 MAXQ vs the 2070 supermax Q. The difference is very little. The thermals on this are 'savage' as described but they are audible at max settings (just wear headphones).
I got this laptop on sale for $1199 (Ryzen 7 4800H, GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB RAM, and 1TB ssd) and it is a beast for the money. I can't believe the power for the price you get nowadays. The thermals are amazing.
Runs cool under pressure. No soldered RAM. Monsterous APU. Good battery life. Good looking. Games just fine. Good screen. Besides the sub-optimal RAM and pricing, it's perfectly balanced as all things should be! Kind of the spiritual successor to the 2019 Helios 300 that Acer missed out on making.
this 5 min review is good because it felt like a 12 minute review with the amount of information packed in it. I like the conclusion too. If anyone is curious I have the EN-0023DX, and im still deciding if the build quality is worth the MSRP premium vs the other options. I definately like the cooling solution this laptop has. The only problems I get are probably nivida optimus related.

Hey Bob, I got this laptop and applied the g14 trick you mentioned in that video. While the internal temps have shot down so have my fan speeds and it seems the actual chassis of the laptop is getting warmer. Should I be worried? what would you recommend? Thanks for the in depth looks at all of these laptops!

So I picked up one JUST before you posted this. This laptop is AWESOME for being $1350 (4800H, 1660 ti, 1TB nvme, 144hz display). You are RIGHT on the money about the cooling system. This is now my mobile lab (living out of a trailer for the next year or so). I can play all of my games on max or near max settings and it hums along comfortably. The ONLY worry I have with this thing is that the power supply gets insanely hot while gaming on it. Owners should certainly be sure to keep the power supply on a hard surface and not surrounded by cloth or something that will retain the heat.

the funny thing is, that im watching this on my Omen 15, the last gen one. Still runs good, i hope Omen continues on this Ryzen processor train, either way, all the Omen laptops and desktops i've seen are beastly in performance and they look good too.
Me same, though battery life is basically crap, though I like everything else about it. I think I even prefer the 2020 model for amd + dedicated arrow keys / pgup pgdn.
Some of the previous Omens lacked Switchable Graphics and that impacted battery life

HP and other OEM's never list that info. I am about ready to upgrade my aging and now faulty Dell Inspiron 5577 and the upcoming RTX 2060 version of this laptop is looking to be the one.

60C for gpu and 80 C for cpu. Really good thermal performance with keyboard only 31C. 200 watt power supply is interesting when the RP-15 only has a 180 watt power supply and 110W 2060
I picked one of these up earlier today to try it out for 14 days from best buy. It's build is the best around imo. It handles all titles I've thrown at it just fine despite only having a 1660 TI. The speakers are really nice for laptop speakers and the fan noise is not that loud at all to me even without headphones- it's a very soft fan noise. The webcam quality SUCKS though lol but that's honestly just fine with me- Most phones have a better camera than laptops nowadays. Yeah the cooling is really amazing. average 80 cpu and 60 gpu temperatures in battle royales and other intensive games, right out of the box! The keyboard never feels hot but underneath while on my lap the right side you can really start to feel it flame up which is where the cpu is I'm guessing.
In July they will have a 16gb with rtx 2060 and ryzen 7 available. I think I'm going to try this one out with everything I do and then go for that model since eluktronics pushed their RP release date to August- If only they could eluktroboost an omen laptop ha. The design also won me over here when comparing eluktronics and hp. Sorry eluk. I'm still a fan of you though.

Just purchased and returned this laptop. Nothing necessarily wrong with it. Screen was decent, speakers were ok, temps were good, gaming was great. But..... unfortunately, the weight and omen logo wasn’t for me. It’s weird that that’s my reasoning for returning the product, but if I’m spending $1500 I need to love it. Played around with the zephyrus g14 at Best Buy and decided to order the 2060 variant as my replacement.

Is the AC adaptor running off the standard power cord we use on desktops instead of the ones with mickey mouse shape header ? That is different to most HP notebooks I have seen. A serious thumbs up though for this design.

Absolute monster of a laptop, just picked it up this past Thursday. I was strongly considering the Eluktronics, but the 1660TI is plenty power for my needs and the thermals and cooling design had me sold. Really my only complaints are that you can't adjust the all core boost as well as the fan speeds, hopefully some updates can remedy that.

What about Lenovo Legion 5?! I know it has 1650ti for now but according to Lenovo UK website 1660ti and 2060 will be available in the second half of 2020 presumably in July!

I think there's a lot of promise in these shorter reviews, but I think extending them out a little bit to 7 minutes or so would strike a good balance between your previous and newer styles, and ease the transition a bit. I do appreciate the density of information though, especially with how quickly you move from point to point.

They're both the same price so idk if I should sacrifice a little bit of power for this amazing design? Also the thermals on this laptop are probably better than on the old design. Thoughts?
This laptop arrived for me yesterday in the UK. 16GB of RAM, i7-10750H and RTX 2070 MAXQ. I would get this model. There are benchmarking videos on TH-cam comparing the 2070 MAXQ vs the 2070 supermax Q. The difference is very little. The thermals on this are 'savage' as described but they are audible at max settings (just wear headphones).

I got this laptop on sale for $1199 (Ryzen 7 4800H, GTX 1660 Ti, 16GB RAM, and 1TB ssd) and it is a beast for the money. I can't believe the power for the price you get nowadays. The thermals are amazing.

Besides the sub-optimal RAM and pricing, it's perfectly balanced as all things should be! Kind of the spiritual successor to the 2019 Helios 300 that Acer missed out on making.
