    Thanks for your rsv4 videos Shaun. I don't know how I would have gotten through my first tuono valve check and adjustment without them.

      Glad I could help. Hope your bike serves you well. Make sure you keep a close eye on those tolerances - especially if you ride it hard.

    raced my superleggera an entire season in two classes in expert WERA and valve clearance was perfect after the season. I think the current Ducati chain driven engines are exceptionally reliable changed the oil every other race weekend as well. shes got 10k miles on it now and just did new valve cover gaskets and still perfect.

      Thanks for the info. Do you run the SL V2 or V4? Glad to hear its so much more reliable than the aprilia.

    On my panigale V4R the dry clutch only lasted 5500km, not because of the disks wearing, it was the slipper system slides that were completely gone due to mechanical friction and of course no oil lubricating. Basically every time you brake hard and shift down the clutch slipper system engages and wears a little bit, it works great but it is not made to last long.
    The problem starts to show when you decelerate, you see the rpms going to idle with the gear selected and without pressing the clutch, then you apply throttle and as soon as the rpm increase everything goes back to normal and there is no slipping during acceleration.
    I also own a speciale which has 10500km and was driven the same way but no issues at all.

    I believe the MV F3 675 has a counter rotating crankshaft to the wheels

      Hi Comfy. I still have the RSV4, i love that thing. But it needs new cylinder heads so I wont ride it again until the rebuild is complete.

      Shaun Nielsen it was about mitigating torque lift. The design brief was that it had to be the biggest (hence 1.1), the fastest (which it was in ‘78) run at any elevation (first inline four cylinder to use CV carbs) be shaft drive but without the BMW type torque lift and have an engine life cycle of 60 years. Plenty still running at 42 years now, including mine, so I guess we’ll have to wait a while yet 😂

    Hi! I've got a streetfighter v4 sp, it comes with stm dry clutch from factory. Do you have an idea of what's the average mileage the clutch lasts? And which are the parts that usually need to be changed?

    • @ShaunNielsen
      @ShaunNielsen  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thats completely dependant upon riding style. It could last 100 miles in race conditions or 10,000 miles if ridden gently. Pull the plates out and check them on a regular basis.

    Is there any damping between the drive gear and the clutch basket? I did not notice any in this video.
