I love both bands, and they are absolutely amazing! They are 2 of the most “fun” bands in metal. Electric Callboy combines techno metal and a dash of “n sync”, and doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Babymetal does all sorts of genres mixed and rooted in metal, and are a live performance group at their core. Suggestions: Electric Callboy - We Got The Moves: similar vibes to Ratatata Electric Callboy - HURIKKAN: “They had us in the first half, not gonna lie” Babymetal - Road of Resistance (Pia Arena MM, 2023): For a more metal side. Babymetal - Tales of the Destinies (Tokyo Dome 2016): Mike Portnoy gave this his personal thumbs up. 🤘🦊
as someone once said those bands "don't make fun of metal, they make metal fun", if you want more EC you should definitely check out the likes of Everytime we Touch, Hypa Hypa (probably the song that gave them the biggest bang in prominence), We got the Moves, Pump it, Tekkno Train basically everything they have a video to in recent years
Babymetal is phenomenal. You absolutely need to check out their discography. Maybe start with Distortion, Megitsune, Maya, Divine Attack, Babymetal Death. They actually go hard af.
They just finished the first day of FOX_FEST in Japan a couple of hours ago and they did the live premiere of this song along with Electric Callboy and everyone went bonkers with this awesome collab, pretty sure it's gonna be the hit of this 2024 summer. See you next time 🦊🤘🐭
You guys are in for a ride with both BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy. I will say that BABYMETAL has never been content to stick with one type of sound so you may enjoy some of their songs more than others. I would recommend always checking out the live version of their stuff because it's almost always better than the studio version. If you want something that is more upbeat and fun like this song then I would check out DA DA DANCE, Shanti Shanti Shanti, Night Night Burn!, and PA PA YA!! from their Metal Galaxy album. It's probably their most comparable stuff to this collab. If you want to hear their more metal side then I would recommend Rondo Of Nightmare, Road Of Resistance, Kagerou, Starlight, MAYA, and Mirror Mirror.
Yes Su is now capable to do things with her voice she couldn't so as a girl. In fact Koba tried to establsh a younger Version of Babymetal with more dancers but as he now learned this might be better to integrate new dancers but it also means thst these dancers are not really a partbof the group. From 4 dNcers and one singer they are now down to2 dancers and ine singer.
Electric Callboy are going to make you having a good time... if you want to or not! Founded in 2010 (as Eskimo Callboy, name changed in March of 2022) they were a more or less standard metalcore band, with a mostly humorous attempt though and never shy of experimenting with styles & genres. Early in 2020, original lead singer Sushi left to found a new project (Ghostkid). They casted Nico as the new clean singer and decided to introduce him to the fans with a no holds barred - all in - over the top song and video, which was Hypa Hypa (mission accomplished I guess). The majority of their material since is uplifting electronicore like Ratatata (usually a bit more metal and a bit less dance) but they do have more serious songs too (Hate/Love, Mindreader, Parasite) and sometimes deviate into other genres (Fckboi feat. Conquer Divide). Besides the singer, there was only one line-up change: back in 2012, original drummer Micha left out of private reasons and current drummer David joined. In March of 2022 Micha filled in for a live performance on a German TV show (they played Pump It) as David was on a humanitary mission at the Polish-Ukranian border. The other members are: Kevin, harsh vocals, sometimes keyboards or piano, Daniel H., guitar, he does the majority of their programming and production, Daniel K., bass, Pascal, guitar, he and his brother Oliver run a videography company (Schillo Bros.) which produces the vast majority of EC's videos.
My dudes if you thought this was fun you should check out literally any ECB songs, my personal recommendation is Everytime We Touch as it's their most recent release (other than this) but honestly their music and videos are a delight. As a massive fan of both ECB and Babymetal this was the collab I didn't know I needed
RATATATA a match made in heaven Fun Metal x Kawaii Metal I didn't expect you guys to react to my recommendation so soon. hypa hypa, tekkno train, pump it (gym song), spaceman, everytime we touch my recommendations. Babymetal did grow up, and they rock.
Oh man, don’t let the cute Japanese girl look fool you into thinking this thing was ever just a gimmick. I would argue it never was due to the culture they came out of, but that aside. Babymetal is a pretty “serious” artist with some damn good innovative music. Their executive producer, Kobayashi Ken (Kobametal) who originally formed the group as a passion project of his is a huge metal head and he knows the world of metal more than most metal heads. Probably most metal music producers. Babymetal’s discography covers just about every major sub genre of metal and beyond. One of the songs off of their first album, called Iine, was inspired by Electric (“Eskimo”) Callboy back in 2012. So this guy knew about this band sense back then and probably been friends with them for a good while. If you want prog? Check out their song Tales of The Destinies. It’s inspired by Dream Theater. They came out with that shit way back in 2016. They have some other pretty damn good solid metal songs like Road of Resistance which is power metal/Dragon Force inspired. They have both new and old performances of the song that are pretty good.
Iine was most obviously inspired by "Love at First Sight" from Fear, and Loathing in Las Vegas. But I am willing to change my mind if you provide proof.
@@traylor2502There's no proof about Iine! being inspired by an Electric Callboy song. Both bands were created in the same year and both were inspired by bands such Attack Attack! there's even a BM interview with one of the composers saying it so most likely that song got that influence from songs such Sticky Sticky and probably some Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas inspiration too, but regardless none of them got that ludicrous hip hop section followed by that brutal breakdown.
@@jakemuller8626 I don't know those songs but if you check the music video of love at first sight then you see that the Iine! music video was basically a copy of it.
Electric Callboy are perfect for reacts. There's always a play with expectations. And they found their own really unique niche. It's always fun in the center

Great reaction. The whole song has more or less the structure of Electric Callboy songs, however I think it was a great collaboration where both band get their parts to shine equally. Thanks for this reaction. As you can imagine from the name already Electric Callboy mostly have fun metal party songs. Which is great and they do have great cleans as well, as you can hear in the start of the video, he's a good singer. Great reaction! You two definitely have to react to some Electric Callboy. I highly recommend starting at Hypa Hypa then Pump It. We Got The Moves is another great song by Electric Callboy. Enjoy the ride. Have a great weekend.
Great reaction guys! I'll send it directly to my favourite reactions playlist.😊 I second the opinion if you react to EC do "Hypa Hypa" first. It was the introduction of their new clean (plus now supporting harsh) singer in 2020. They were known as TransCore/ MetalCore and wanted to surprise their fans. Worked very well and most reaction channels love them since 😅

No, this were their normal costumes at that time. They just switched it at FoxFest. These costumes were designed to confuse the AGCUnits of Smartphones. They get confusing results and can't determine a clean greypoint and can't determine the basic colors. Don't talk about screaming before both bands started their growling.
Hi guys, loved your reaction and analysis of the song and the two bands. Hope you react to more Electric Callboy. These guys are the most fun energetic but also talented and humble guys in metall edm core. They dont take themselves serious but defently their music. I would recomment "hyper hyper", "we got the moves", "pump it", "everytime we touch", "Spaceman" or "Tekkno Train" for the funny side of EC and "Paraside", "Mindreader" or "Crystals" (with their former clean singer Sushi) for the more heavy side. Also do a live recording of them once, because they are live as awesome as with their studio stuff. Greets from Germany 🤘🙋🏼♀️
A Gimmick, Well most metal bands triedvto start with a gimmick, to be remembered by. They had nothing against Kobayashis idea to give Su special singing lessons, but they were not attracted from his idea to waste idols for the doomed metal industry. But atvleast after a rough start they had enough support Amuse wanted to be a part of this. Butvwhen they had their first concert with british Metalfans, these 55.000 wanted more and so they became the international most successful japanese Band.
No, Sus Voice aged extremly Well. She is now reaching the Prime of her voice, which should grant her another 10 years atvthevtop of her industry. While idols are normally bad payed, Kobacreally tried to assure them descent wages in a World that dramatically underpays female Stars. And since they are now in theircsecond contract they should now br able to earn a decent living. Especially if the Collab idea seems to be working as well as they hoped.
A very close listen will hear a lot of mixing of the two bands' vocalists. - In the 'Ratatata' segments, the GM vocalists are mixed in under the harsh vocals... - in the 'I, will take it the limit' section, the voice of Nico (primary cleans for EC) is mixed in with SuMetal - in the 'Are you ready' drop, the second area you ready is clearly MomoMetal harsh vocal. - and in the pre-outro, the first two 'Everybody' is Momo again (Kevin echoes back the 'out of control' harsh line) And you're right, this is not the song if one must search for polyrhythms (I played Mahavishu songs in the mid 70's, and taught Goodman's lines to my daughter when she was 14. I'm still not sure why poly/math content is held up like a magic token, and I'm a science/math nerd.) So anyway. This is a song for a summer. It's a song to get yourself primed for a hard day of work, or a fun-night-out pump up. It doesn't have to be more to be great. If a person has to feel proud of their guilty pleasures, then let this be one of them. We need an infusion like this in the American Metal scene... Have fun once in a while. Reach outside 'my genre' and let yer butt get kicked by a Kawaii metal trio or a handful of guys from Germany . Life's too short to argue 'whose the harshest, who has the dirtiest riffs, who is most-death-lilke, who has the best bat's-head recipe. Metal needs fun, and these folks supply. Enjoy
Nice reaction, you actually gave some insights instead of just watching the video! I‘m a huge BABYMETAL fan and didn’t know anything about Electric Callboy, but this really caught me in its spell. I‘m usually not into screaming or electronic dance music, but this works so well here. I have seen it dozens of times over the last two days, and it still makes me smile like an idiot. Maybe give BABYMETAL another chance as well? There’s a wide variety in their music, they are much more than just Gimme Chocolate (which is probably the song you know).
Damn I’m happy yall agree it makes u wanna dance! And yall can use my name I don’t care I’m the one that posted this on currently listening too I’m shocked u guys reacted to it! Can’t wait to see more!
If you want a track to pump in the gym than 'Pump it' by Electric Callboy may be the way to go. 😂 Saying you like metal with polyrhythms then I'd suggest Meshuggah but the screaming will probably put you off. Unless you can listen to it as just another distorted polyrhythmic layer and not a 'melody line', which it isn't. If you go there don't do Bleed, that's for drummers, but try Dancers to a Discordant System.
I was watching some videos on your channel and if you like idol groups I recommend reacting to babymetal, since they are an idol group in themselves, they combine jpop with many metal subgenres and their live shows are incredible.
Can you react to 2024 Eurovison songs? The grand final stages: 1. Nemo - The Code (Switzerland) winner 2. Baby Lasagna - Rim Tim Tagi Dim (Croatia) 3. Bambie Thug - Doomsday (Ireland) 4. Joost Klein - Europapa (Netherlands) 5. alyona alyona & Jerry Heil - Teresa & Maria (Ukraine) 6. Angelina Mango - La noia (Italy) 7. LADANIVA - Jako (Armenia)
This is more complex than you first think. Babymetal cannot sing in clean Eurodance female vocals. They have a Japanese accent. Which you can hear in many places in this video. So, in the Eurodance chorus it is actually one of the guys in Electric Callboy (Nico) that has the main high female vocal together with the main Babymetal singer Su. Sounds super. You can see that in several places in the video. Nico is singing high notes, which can be seen by his face expression. Also, it is actually one of Babymetal that screams "everybody" (Momoko) maybe with Kevin. Some Babymetal history: Babymetal is an idol group that was formed in 2010, when they were 13 and 11 years old. It was Su (main singer) and Moa and Yui, dance and shouts. They had a heavy metal backing band that eventually stabilized to Kami Band. They hade a fantastic success. In 2018 one of the members (Yui) left. They tried with two and then settled for having an extra dancer that did not sing and was rotating between several girls. The girls was, of course, growing up. They started to do different things, that I had mixed feelings about. Some liked it though and the group did continue. In 2023 they made one of the extra dancers a permanent member and gave her a microphone. That is Momoko. I would say they are in for a revival. They hade a success with Metali together with Tom Morello. Still, in my heart, the old stuff 2010-2018, is their best era. But sure, Papaya, BxMxC, Metali and Ratatata are very good. They also have some more soft ones, many like Monochrome. Not my thing, but it is good.
Oh, be careful. The moment you react to EC you comment section will be occupied by 90% Germans, but you will have much more subscribers too :-) There are a dozen content creators LIVING basically from the EC (and also BM) audience. To the song: I miss longer riffs too. You can hear a guitar whenever Su starts "I ..." but it must be louder!!! Kevins screaming in my oppinion in this song doesnt fit always. But you will definitely find EC songs where Kevin screams much better.

Great reaction guys, would be fun to see your reaction to Babymetal Tales of the Destinies live Tokyo Dome 🤘🦊🤘
Ginger was trying real hard to be too cool for school here. Grats Atom for giving it a chance.
The guy on the left looks like he wants to like it but he’s forcing himself to be serious
😄 but you can't escape the fun of this two bands 🤘😉
- in the 'I, will take it the limit' section, the voice of Nico (primary cleans for EC) is mixed in with SuMetal
- in the 'Are you ready' drop, the second area you ready is clearly MomoMetal harsh vocal.
- and in the pre-outro, the first two 'Everybody' is Momo again (Kevin echoes back the 'out of control' harsh line)
And you're right, this is not the song if one must search for polyrhythms (I played Mahavishu songs in the mid 70's, and taught Goodman's lines to my daughter when she was 14. I'm still not sure why poly/math content is held up like a magic token, and I'm a science/math nerd.)
So anyway.
BABYMETA〜a〜a〜a〜L〜❤ 🦊🤘 🇯🇵🇩🇪😍
I recommend "Pump it" by Electric Callboy for the gym. 😂

07:40 feel free to react electric callboy, they love watching video reaction
\m/ 🔥 -> EC - Hypa Hypa is a good place to start 😃 Peace and Love 🤘💜
If you want a track to pump in the gym than 'Pump it' by Electric Callboy may be the way to go. 😂
Saying you like metal with polyrhythms then I'd suggest Meshuggah but the screaming will probably put you off. Unless you can listen to it as just another distorted polyrhythmic layer and not a 'melody line', which it isn't.
If you go there don't do Bleed, that's for drummers, but try Dancers to a Discordant System.
THE LAST ALBUM OF BABYMETAL IS THE BEST THEY EVER DONE
OH SHIT LETS GOOOO
I was watching some videos on your channel and if you like idol groups I recommend reacting to babymetal, since they are an idol group in themselves, they combine jpop with many metal subgenres and their live shows are incredible.

The moment you react to EC you comment section will be occupied by 90% Germans, but you will have much more subscribers too :-)
There are a dozen content creators LIVING basically from the EC (and also BM) audience.
To the song: I miss longer riffs too. You can hear a guitar whenever Su starts "I ..." but it must be louder!!! Kevins screaming in my oppinion in this song doesnt fit always.
But you will definitely find EC songs where Kevin screams much better.
Do exo reaction
