    I have always wondered why the big TH-camrs seem to skip over Botswana when it seems to be the most stable African country with good governance, good HDI, good GDP per capita, etc. I look forward to learning more about this country, especially as a Sierra Leonean, as we have diamonds as well but were not able to leverage it in the same way as Botswana to develop our country for numerous reasons(our diamonds were easy to find and retrieve so it was a mad rush, Liberian civil war which effected us, corruption, etc)

    You know what it weird, handing over diamonds for fake printed money? Money fake, diamonds real. Where there is assets to exploit in Africa you will find a white or Indian man.

    The Industry is currently being threatened by synthetic diamonds though, all best on the language course😊

    • @321girlwantstohavefun
      @321girlwantstohavefun ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You mean synthetic? This is why Botswana needs to diversify the country's income away from diamonds so this isn't a threat. Just look at Russia and Arabia, they're not just diamonds and oil anymore even though we know them for that but they have used their money from these things to become even bigger and better and shining in tne global stage.

    Tayo Aina - Good job and thank you for visiting Botswana. The hope is that the rest of Sub Saharan Africa realize they can live in harmony with their mineral wealth and allow those minerals to help their economies. Yes it took Botswana a long time to do this and that, but that also serves as education for the rest of Africa. Yes the man running this factory is of Indian origin, again another lesson, probably the person who saw the skill in him is of Indian origin too. It’s there it happens.

      There is No Sub Sahara it's a degrading Colonial term (nobody is sub or less). It's South of the Sahara!!!!!

      What an unintelligent comment! Even the Middle East oil production is not done 100% by the Arabs.
      With time and further education, young Botswanans will no doubt take more charge of the production of their diamond. One thing that can’t be denied is that they are on the right path.
