A building guide. Often times not sure what to build
an irk in smite is when im support and people be blaming saying your 0-6 while disregarding i have 10 assists and dps be like having 4-7 record and 0 assist. what do you expect a support to do? get 10 kills a game
support mains are saints 😅 always takin flak from carry roles
To any supports out there i have an anti-tunnelvisioning tip: make it a habit to turn around while front lining once about every 3 (or less) seconds to look at your team, you could also use your map but nothing beats actually seeing whats going on behind you. Knowing whats going on is always going to be better than hitting the full hp carry with an auto attack.

Small note I want to make with damage on support, it is also god dependent. For example in that game you were playing Kuzenbo, a lot of his value as a god comes from his reflect, the damage of which is effected by penetration. Therefore a Divine Ruin on him to help get more value from the reflect and still help the team with anti-heal would be really nice. I would've gotten it second most likely that game since Guan 1 and Cthulu ult can both provide a lot of healing.
I would also like to mention two other "damage" items useful for supports.
Gem of Iso: if your team has low lockdown (maybe you have an assassin solo and backliners with low CC) and/or just a god with limited CC or an ability that doesn't have an CC (Ganesha 1 for example) rounding out the build with it might be a good idea since it still gives HP and Crowd Control reduction along with the enhanced lockdown potential. Be careful if the enemy has slow immunity in the kit or has winged blade however.
Ethereal Staff: HP and Mana steal, makes you tankier while also reducing the hp from anyone diving your backline. Can also be used as a sudo-DR tool against the enemy if they build Book of Thoth or Tablet by stealing the mana they are getting increased damage from. That 100% depends on the enemies builds however so just another reason to watch what your enemy is doing as a support before you buy an item. If you aren't sure what to get, upgrade relics early. I almost always have one relic at T3 before a starter upgrade.
Upgrading relics early-mid game as support is super strong for sure 👍

Love the guide. We support mains appreciate this. Also love how you threw the dos and donts in there and analyze the mistakes you made. Alot of people don't do that and love pointing the finger at support or the jungle for them losing a 1v1.
Another reason why going 1 damage item on certain supports can be a helpful is some supps have actually pretty ok scaling or perform better in fights with that damage.
Yemoja with Chronos and/or Soul Reaver makes it really hard for anyone to get close to her backline, as well as you being able to out trade in 1v1s to zone enemies out of fights.
Another example is Terra since her ultimate can literally hit the 5 enemies with 300-400 DMG.
Going in-depth about which supports can do what is crucial to a Support Guide as they all have unique strengths etc. (obviously going over every support would probably take too long but regardless mentioning a few wouldn't hurt).

This was excellent! It's great to hear you analyzing your mistakes so that you can improve yourself, while also providing advice for the viewer. We can all play better, and learning from mistakes is vitally important to improving. Fun to have explicit examples of do's and don'ts! I'd love to see more of this type of condensed analysis of mistakes/misplays on any role.

I basically only play support, still have lots to learn about the role. Though the most difficult to do, and also the things I need to work on most are both itemization and map control. I build way too much similar or the same builds with one or two items that are situational; And in map control, my rotations are usually very bad, partly due to improper pathing and not having a good sense where I need to be on the map. Late game is usually manageable but I'm early to mid game I have the tendency to be at the wrong place at the wrong time

I just discovered you, but I love your work great TH-cam and guiding
in short, roaming roles get a lot of flack for being the role that they are. but it does help a lot if you show up for your team’s buffs especially if those buffs have been invaded. fight for farm on your own side of the map. when people say don’t fight, I don’t think they realize that sometimes there isn’t a choice. you gotta pick a fight somewhere, might as well be on your own side of the map over farm your team NEEDS in order to stay in the game.
on the flip side, if you’re stomping, then you get to walk up to enemy buffs and tell teammates to follow you so that way you can take a fight with your lead and invade the buffs and snowball the game in your favor
yea some people dont realize you cant just play pve the entire match you gotta fight at some point, its just about choosing when and where 😅Supports are great at defending ally buffs and also facilitating invades on the enemy. thanks for the comment :D
I appreciate this, I noticed some things I’m already doing wrong just from watching your endgame replay. My struggle is coming from overwatch support to smite support where you have more freedom to prioritize picks and get kills. In smite I often feel like I’m doing bad if I’m not getting kills so I tend to tunnel vision as well. But I have to remind myself that having assists is equally as advantageous in smite. Thank you!

While I'm generally a positive player, I've noticed I'm the MOST positive when playing support. My brain just acclimates to the role I'm playing lol.
Like you pointed out, support is the backbone of the team. The entire role is there to keep the team moving towards victory.
Also I just hate when the support among all roles is a toxic player. I'd day 4 out of 5 games where we got totally steamrolled involved a toxic or afk support.
Great guide. One thing I will say is it's good to see what state certain items are in before building even if they may be a good item in theory right now it may just be a trash item and not worth picking up. I would say midguardian is terrible right now good in theory but just not worth building it even into counter matchups imo
yea there are much better options than midgard for sure, was just an example but I agree :D

Deep knowledge of your abilities.
For example, Kuzenbo's 2 reduces your cooldowns, so you can throw almost instantly 2 turtles(with bouncing) so you can burst buff faster than a jungler. If you decide to do the buff, put your everything to do it, not to waste time. If you waste it, its getting pointless, in this time you could share xp on the lane.
Ofc, don't miss position yourself when you use everything to do the buff.
I love these kinds of guides where they just say the most vague things and never elaborate. "Tip 3: Learn how to rotate" "Tip 4: Learn how to build"

Support life is a nigthmare people think that you are there personal protector and that you should die for them , but i Will no figth a 2 VS 4 with my mid .
Also you get flame because ganking a lane and end Up killing the enemy and 4 people rotate to mid and kill your mate .
For conclud you dosnt Matter what you do is allí fault of support and you Will never get reward of carring the game with the rotations .
But then youll have those games where your teammates are so lovable and appreciate you tremendosly and it suddenly feels worth it. Not the most common but it still happens.
@@sofiabruiz17 the think is that i love playing support with people that know what are we doing , so i duo queu rank with my friend as a jungle and hard carring the game giving peel to the people that really do something
Problem I have with Midgard is it’s ok but it needs more atk speed reduction on it

Hard to support when your team hides behind you like your a guardian. My teams rarely play teamwork.
another mistake is going for 4th+ items without having your relics fully upgraded, also if you want damage, relics are your best bet
especially in ranked, scorch blink, sunder consider ankh too
positioning varies a lot depending on your build, be specially aware of this if you're building full auras
yeah supports get a lot of value from upgrading their relics earlier than other roles
