The girl playing Kim (Eva N.) goes to my school and i have the privilege of knowing her for about 4 yrs and being in class with her...she deserves it :) Pure talent.
Could everyone please stop hating that the actors aren't Vietnamese? This is a show, not a documentary. These people are acting and they all look like they will be amazing.
@@themusicalspeakeasy2439 Take it from a Vietnamese person: this is a show, not a documentary. Not many of us speak English fluently enough to be considered for the role of Kim-or the ensemble, for that matter-and those who are are unlikely to have also received vocal training. If you want more *Vietnamese-Americans* to be involved in this production, that's fine, but that wouldn't make the characters any more authentic than they are now (save for the non-speaking role of Tam).
Three Filipino talents in the revival of Miss Saigon?! Wow! I am so happy to see you right there Rachelle Ann! So proud of you! You have gone so far! God bless you more and the whole cast as well! This is a must watch musical!
Way to go for 2014 Miss Saigon cast! Congrats to the 3 very important roles filled by Filipinos artists--Eva, Jon-Jon and Rachelle Ann. Splendid! You make the Philippines proud!👏🎼😘🇵🇭
Eva has been one of my best friends for years. I cannot wait to see her play Kim. A real "dream come true" moment for her - just as it was for Lea 25 years ago, I'm sure. I always told Eva she would be a star, I just didn't know it would be so soon. Love you Eve. I'm going to miss you so much! Here's to hoping we share the stage again soon ;)
Rachelle Ann Go will rock this Miss Saigon. Can't wait for her on May 2014. She will go far! She can do anything and her charm is just beyond. Love her talent, very talented artist!
My husband and I went to see this production on Monday night (first night of our honeymoon - eek!) and were completely blown away by it. Everything from the singing to the costumes to the acting to the lighting to the sets was absolutely perfect. I just hope they decide to do a soundtrack for this cast because I want to listen to that show again and again and again. X
There is a live double album that was recorded earlier this year,i saw it on sale in the theatre but i expect that you can find on Amazon.....and much cheaper.
On Saturday 10th January...2015...I had the pleasure of being at The Prince Edward Theatre In London to see Miss Saigon.Tickets were a xmas present from my wife..because of work commitments we've never been able to make it...and we've waited over 10 years to see this production. What a show....the location....the music....the cast ...all superb...i'd reccommend this to anyone.
Rachelle Ann Go(Gigi) was part of the concert "Do You Hear The People Sing" in Manila with Lea Salonga and other foreign singers. Rachelle sang "maybe" a new song for the role of Ellen in Miss saigon. So far Rachelle can sing the songs of Kim, Gigi and Ellen. I hope she will be given a chance to portray Kim with her age at 27.She really has a great voice. Bravo! im so excited for her.
+MaryAnn Kincaid I am glad to hear that Miss Saigon will be doing a new production and it will be on Broadway next spring in 2017 that is really great news
I have literally been replaying Eva's audition segment in this video over and over since I discovered this video a few weeks ago. She seems like she'll be absolutely fabulous in the role!!
What about Thuy....who is playing him, this is a main role too. Jon-Jon's story on itself is inspirational, from theater runner to a pivotal lead role in a huge international theater production is absoutely amazing.
+Mary Ann Wittkowske I am glad to hear that the 25th anniversary gala filmed performance of Miss Saigon will be released in Cinemas and then on DVD and Blu-ray in the autumn this year that is really great news
amazing cast. For some people commenting, the creative team for this musical is the best in the world. They know what they are doing. Its not only about the voice. Its the totality of the character or role. And i can see that every artist there fits their role perfectly.
Even with this Grand reproduction of Miss Saigon, just listening and watching these new actors in their auditions, I have to say, NOTHING compares to the Original production. That was and always be the MISS SAUGON. The acting and singing was phenomenal. The were all The Best cast ever. The voices were so original and their roles were so brilliantly and passionately played. You can build new props, bring in modern day music scores; new castings of new actors etc 25 - 100 years later but you will never take that originality and rawness from the original production. You will only have to sit back relax and run those reels and you transported back to Saigon. Heard the original Kim and Chris even after 25 years, singing together they sang in the original production, and you were immediately transported back into Miss Saigon.
I managed to see this a few days ago in London and I was blown away (after being a fan of the soundtrack for a long time). I can't believe it's going to finish- I hope they do a 25th anniversary live DVD
+Philippa Rose I am glad to hear that the 25th anniversary gala filmed performance of Miss Saigon will be released in Cinemas and then on DVD and Blu-ray in the autumn this year that is really great news
+William Fairchild Yes I heard! A friend went to the closing night and Cameron Mackintosh announced it on stage at the end. It's going to be fab. They're doing a UK tour before it goes to Broadway so definitely going again
+Philippa Rose Thank you for that comment and also at the final performance of Miss Saigon, Cameron Mackintosh told us that he hinted about doing the movie and it may happen very soon that is really great news
+Philippa Rose Thank you for that comment and I am looking forward to the 25th anniversary gala filmed performance of Miss Saigon in Cinemas and then on DVD and Blu-ray in the autumn this year
+Philippa Rose Thank you for that comment and I head that Miss Saigon will be doing a new production and it will open on Broadway next spring in 2017 and it will tour the UK next summer in 2017
Congratulations Eva!!! I love the glowing accolades by Claude-Michel Schonberg, Alain Boublil, and THE Cameron Mackintosh! ~ Can hardly wait to hear the reviews! Best wishes!
I adore and love this 3 men: Cameron Mackintosh, Claude-Michel Schonberg, and Alain Boublil since I set eyes on them during their search of Kim (in the Philippines) they found in Lea Salonga whom I greatly admire !!!! I pray tht they live a long, healthy and happy life in this lifetime!!!!
Lea will always be the best kim in the history of miss saigon. And wow for the cast. I really hope they'll be able to give justice to their designated roles... esp. Kims.
I dont care if Lea Salonga is 42, 62 or 82...for me she'll forever be the only Kim. Miss Saigon will never be the same without Lea...i simply cant move on to other Kims. Kim is Lea & Lea is Kim.
I saw Ma-anne Dionisio, ovitatirac, as Kim. She was outstanding. I adore Lea Salonga to the max but am happy to know the Toronto's MS Kim was great. Don't close your door (and mind as well :)) to seeing other actresses/singers to play Kim, my friend! I remembered going to watch Les Miz thinking Colm Wilkinson was the best Valjean. Was I wrong! I saw two great actors play Valjean soo much better and one of them happened to play beside Lea's Fantine at the Broadhurst Theater... Lea was sooo good! I thought Patti LuPone was the best Fantine. Lea was perfect as Fantine. Just wanted to share that. Take care :P
I agree that she has a great voice. But Eva Noblezada would fit better for the role of Kim. I think Rachelle Ann Go is fit for the role of Gigi. I can see her resemblance with Isay Alvarez.
MrBigboss0815 Rachelle Ann Go can give justice for the KIM role, because she has an amazing voice and baby face..but it was the age issue, that's why they gave it to Eva so that it would be more authentic coz she's 17 and wonderful voice, she deserves it...but i am still thankful they give GIGI to Rachelle, knowing she ddnt really audition for the role gigi, means 2 say,she gave a good impression for the panel not to let her go..yeah!

+deliza hermano I'm pretty sure every country has it's talent... Also, as a filipino, I think that the other pinoys are way too harsh on other people saying that Miss Saigon has way too many Filipino actors (not that I'm complaining though). Like, it would be nice to see a Vietnamese play Kim..
Oh my gosh I'm so excited about this! I think I must be the only person who is excited about Alistair Brammer, he doesn't have the strongest voice but that's not why he's so good, I saw him in War horse not long ago and he just has this natural depth and believability to his acting. His voice and his acting are both incredibly sympathetic and I think that will bring a whole new side to Chris, I've found that the actors who've played Chris in the past have had really incredible voices but they've been a bit one dimensional, a bit typical even. I actually love when they go for another take on the character. Honestly if they'd wanted a strong voice/ typical good looking guy there are plenty of them on the west end! They've clearly gone for something new and I love it! The only one I'm not sure about is Ellen, she seems a bit old to me? But they've hit the nail on the head with everything else so I won't come to any conclusions about that yet... GAhh I'm just so excited! I hope they do some sort of filming like in War Horse so they can show it around the world. It being the 25th anniversary and all I think they might do something special like that :)
Lea's voice is still superior..but Eva seems so raw .. she can be a really good Kim.. There will be alot of Kims in the future..but only one has been chosen to be the mold of the character of Kim... and that's LEA... big shoes to fill in.. goodluck to EVA! She will definitely be brilliant in it...
Cannot wait to buy our tickets...but we still miss the original cast of the 1990s Miss Saigon with the emotional voices and performances of Ms Lea Salonga and Jonathan Price.....but glad to know that you have selected 3 Filipinos for major roles.....Bravo
oH I want to see this so badly! I love Miss Saigon!!!! Ever since I heard Les Mis and Miss Saigon were coming back I've been bugging my mum to take me to see them! I saw Les Mis last month...please bring Miss Saigon to Toronto!
The girl playing Kim (Eva N.) goes to my school and i have the privilege of knowing her for about 4 yrs and being in class with her...she deserves it :) Pure talent.
OMG you met Eva 😍😍😍😍😍
JON-JON BRIONES! Now there's an Engineer who really looks, acts and sings the part...
He's amazing.
Could everyone please stop hating that the actors aren't Vietnamese? This is a show, not a documentary. These people are acting and they all look like they will be amazing.
I mean Lea Salonga wasn't Vietnamese either but everyone's okay with that
Don't care didn't ask plus you're white
Georgia Griffiths Agree. Id like to tell them to learn how sing well and act first so they could get casted. Stupid comments from these people. Gawd!

***** I'll buy it and for sure!
3...I have a feeling there are more in the ensemble. Excited for Ms. Saigon, my 2nd favorite musical after Les Mis.
There are more filipinos that were not part of the main cast.

Eva's alternate as Kim is also a filipina ☺️
OMG the woman playing Kim sounds fantastic on this, what a brilliant find. Nice to see them cast an unknown star

Still..... nothing beats Lea's innocent face and angelic voice ..
kyle raizen yeah.. that innocent face.. spot on!
WOW! Amazing talents come together. Proud fan of Rachelle Ann Go! Congratulations and good luck.
Seriously, Eva, I'm so stoked for you! Proud to call her one of my very good friends:)
After Lea Salonga, Filipino again? That is AWESOME!
I wish they would put this play on film like they did Phantom of the Opera
Mary Ann Wittkowske Yes, I agree with you T-T
I should have specified they should put the original version on film with the original songs not the revival version.

it was in Singapore in 2001 I think

Congrats Rachelle Ann Go!! Mabuhay ang Pilipinas!!!
My uncle watched the original London cast. Why wasn't I born that year?
indeed =-= ("girl")
i feel the same way...
Lea Salonga is the legend of Miss Saigon she has played it so well that no one can bit her!
Rachell ann go of the Philippines ....best vocal....
It's always great to see pinoys perform in big screens and threaters… Mabuhay Kababayans! Let's invade the world with our world-class talents!
Eva’s voice now has improved significantly since her audition reel. WOW.
I'm still waiting for the sequel, MR. HANOI!!
Goosebumps! What a great cast!

Excellent choice of cast. Anticipating Miss Saigon 2014!
Might have to travel to London so that I can see this epic of a musical….One of my favorites!!
Excited to see this revival! Will be hard to top Ms Solanga's performance and Mr Price= Perfection♥
I look forward to seeing it again after all these years.
rachelle ann go's voice is spectacular. I wonder if she will be the the KIm role... maybe it will be a spectacular play.

Wow, this looks like it's going to be AMAZING!

I guess it only makes sense, i mean the none of the performers for the Les Miserables 25th annivarsary were french..They might as well call this Miss Manila...
good suggestion! let us spread the word to mackintosh for that brilliant idea! Miss Manila! WOW!
Sera Fica coz Filipnos are talented.. and Cameron Mackintosh brilliantly knows that... i don't know whats your problem with filipinos/ or asian artists for that matter?

After 25 years since the first run, it's landing back in London! Aboard the new and even greater cast, the new MISS SAIGON is...
It's so wonderful to see where Eva really got her big break, she's such a star now!!! Love this show!
I hope that the tour comes to Toronto...I have wanted to see this musical for a long long time.

Please make a movie!!!!
I'm so excited right now!

Is the person playing KIM was a FILIPINA? Great job Ms. Rachel Ann Go!!! ;)
Cannot wait to buy our tickets...but we still miss the original cast of the 1990s Miss Saigon with the emotional voices and performances of Ms Lea Salonga and Jonathan Price.....but glad to know that you have selected 3 Filipinos for major roles.....Bravo
They made a stunning movie out of Les Mis. I hope we get to see Miss Saigon on the big screen as well. #2018
Oh my god, Eva's singing gives me chills!
what if Miss Saigon turned into a movie?
I would love that!! I'm sure it'd work well.
