People I am a professional. What Joe is teaching will set you on a great path. On one install for a customer who watched me doing the install. He said Bob you used tape at first then you did the rest off a piece of scrap. As he scratched his head. That scrap was the cheater board people. I don't care how squirrely your walls are the cheater will make the last cut along the walls perfect to the squirrely wall and so much more. Joe truly is a gift to installing flooring. I thought I knew how then I started doing exactly how Joe teaches. I was paid handsomely for learning Joe's way.
Just spent 3 days helping my friend lay laminate flooring and quarter round moldings with transition pieces between tile and laminate. Neither one of us have ever done anything like that before - we are both retired ladies - but watched TH-cam videos to learn how. WHY oh why didn’t your videos show up when we searched for information??? This is the best tutorial of them all, and would have saved us so much frustration.
You and the Home RenoVison guy have been provided a wealth of information that has kept me sane and saved my wife and I a lot of money while remodeling our house. Thank you sir!
My husband and I could not have floored our son's room without this. It was the most helpful video on flooring that I found. Thank you so much, God bless you abundantly for your kindness to the rest of us!
Joe……thanks so much for your videos. I have installed plank flooring in the past in my house, my sons, and brother in laws. But watching your videos made this install so much easier. The screwing down scrap pieces instead of trying to use spacers was phenomenal. The cheater board works like a charm. Never had such good tight cuts. And installing in the bathroom around the toilet hole and the tub,was a breeze. It came out better than I would have hoped for. As a man of faith, I also appreciate you be vocal and expressing your belief in prayer and Christ. Bless you and thank you!.
Great to see someone in today’s do it fast for the money world, that is willing to do it right and share what they know. Oh, that means I just learned from a true craftsman! The fact you are not ashamed of your Lord and openly pray is just icing on the cake. God Bless you and yours sir!
Dang, Joe!! Awesome instruction vid! People like you, with "a teacher's heart", are the Gems of TH-cam. You are what TH-cam is (or should be) all about. Great info for the novice like me. Thanks, so much!! Learning should never come to an end.
I am getting ready to install my LVP, which has been stacked in my living room for over 6 months. I had linoleum/rug through out the house and needed a change. I am a DIYer and have watched many video's to help get educated before I begin. This was absolutely, without a doubt, the best most informative of any I watched before. Amazing amount of info from a true professional and I thank you for posting this. I need to say this again...what an AMAZING amount of SPECTACULAR info on installing flooring!!! I am speechless. I am looking forward to watching your other video's now that I have found your channel. Thank you.
Thank you, Joe, not only for the floor install info, but for your stand for the Lord Jesus, after I watched your first video, I was going to watch a different installer's video, but when I heard you pray, and profess Christ, I said, I'm going to keep watching his video's, so, keep being a witness brother!
I wrote a coment, on how greatful I was with his videos and I said may God bless you and then I figure out he is a brother in Christ! God works in mysterious ways.
I'm glad I watched until the end because I not only attended this free class(and it is a class), but received a message of blessing as well. GOD bless you and your family as well!
Thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos. I'm a 55 yo woman with a rebuilt shoulder, but I've now installed LVP in my foyer, 2 halls, coat closet, kitchen, breakfast nook with bay window, & powder room. Thanks to you, I had very little trouble getting doorways done, making a pattern & cutting out for the toilet flange! Thanks, you are awesome & appreciated!! 😊
Watched almost all of your videos over last few months. Most of them multiple times. Just installed LVP seamless throughout 6 rooms in my house and it turned out great!! My buddy and I have done multiple floors before. When I showed him your “cheater” method for notching around obstacles he was speechless!! It saved us so much time!! Thank you so much!!
I watched so many of your videos while researching LVP install tips. Your were the most helpful and we used so many of your tricks to make sure everything lined up just perfect with rooms extending into a hall. My husband looked at me like I was crazy when I told him to cut the scrap to screw down. I told him to trust me, I watched videos… And the little prayer over our project at the end of videos made my heart smile. Thank you for sharing your experience!
This is the Best video on laminate flooring because of your discussion on Layout planning and how to center on the hall and move into the rooms without a transition. Awesome. thank you. just what i needed to know.
Thank you Joe! Just stumbled across your site!! I've been pulling up carpeted stairs and installing laminate to the upstairs (L shaped) hallway floors and 3 bedrooms over the past 2+ years. Huge job in just spare time....Got 1 bedroom done and almost done with the hallway. We got stuck at the top step cuz it is a builders grade bullnose. Thank you so much for showing how to deal the the top step and the many door jams we have!!!! Wish I had found your channel earlier while renovating our house!! I've learned a lot and love that you are not ashamed about your love for Jesus! Now on to binge watching more of your videos!! Thanks!
I just finished my first vinyl plank floor for my kitchen, I had to deal with tons of corners and dificult areas, this video and some of the other he has were instrumental in the sucessful installation. I thank you so much.
Thank you! Your instructions removed my fear of beginning the floor. I do know how to install tile floors but became very intimidated with plank flooring. You’re so kind and patient with instructions and removed any self doubt by repeated “it’s one plank, if you messed up, grab another plank”. I wish I knew you as a friend. It would be nice to send you a gift for helping us and removing the “plank floor installation fear”. It’s amazing that you knew so many people do in fact doubt themself’s with this one project. God bless and my utmost respect to you and your family! 🙌🏼🙏🏼🤍
This is spot on - all the 'tricks of the trade' that Joe and the rest of us learned through trial and error, and looking at a situation thinking about how to put down the best floor. Some (many) installers just rack & smack, they don't give alot of thought about placement of butt joints, same patterned boards next to or near each other, or not having small end cuts. This is why Joe stands out in his work. Very good explainations of the "why", not just "how to". Keep up the good work and keep all your digits!
“ so that’s how you do that “ ..... what a straight up awesome video ! From start to finish, packed with common sense trade techniques and time saving tips . Many thanks to you for taking the time to share your knowledge and know how , as well as the recommendations on tools and supplies to do the job right the first time ! God Bless You and Your Family 😍
I been installing carpet vinyl hardwood lamanite floors for over 40 years I must say you now your stuff Joe. Helping people install their floor is great ,reminds of training all my new helpers .God Bless you and your family. Brother bill's flooring.
We cannot thank you enough!!! We undertook a renovation of our family room in the lower level of a tri-level house. It has felt like two steps forward, five backwards the whole way. That is, until we discovered your posts on flooring install. We aren't done yet, but after binge watching your content we feel like we might actually finish well! Many blessing to you and your family, Merry Christmas!
I must have watched 3 dozen videos on laminate floor installation. Your videos Joe are second to none. So easy to understand and a pleasure to watch. Thanks so much for all your tips!!
Great info. I have 2100 sq ft to install. Here’s another hint for old guys like myself. Do some stretches before you get started and take ibuprofen before you start. Trust me.
Finally! A guy that takes the time to explain EXTREMELY useful information and exactly how to replicate the results! These the videos that have me feeling crazy confident at the homeowners!
One of the best DIY videos I have watched in years. Very well done and no BS gimmicks, just real stuff that works. Great refresher for me getting ready to tackle a whole house floor. Thank you!!!
I am installing my own lvt planks. I stopped because I was not happy how it looked. After watching your video I pulled up and started over and it looks fabulous so far. You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge! I have watched many others and until this Cordero I was not confident. Hoping you are blessed greatly!
I watched your videos multiple times a few years ago "coach Joe" is my name for you. I can't count how many jobs I've done now. Just did 600sq feet yesterday. Thank you so much coach, God bless you!❤
Phenomenal video, thank you. Getting ready to do a 2200 sf manufactured home, thank you so much. I had a lot of questions after watching several other videos, this is truly a gem of an instruction video. Thank you for the good work you are doing.
Thanks! I’m a single mom DIY-er. Bought life proof for a sunken living room with an uneven perimeter. Had no idea whether/how to even them out. “Should I raise everything to that level or flatten the peaks?” The entire video was full of useful info, but the cup grinder is what will Finally get my project started.
You have done a great job teaching me how to tackle tough transitions and irregularly-shaped spaces. Thank you for all you do! I've subscribed, too! God's Blessings to you and your family
This video has saved my sanity. I'm putting vinyl planks down in our hallway and living room and i have been having the worst time getting the second row in. I couldn't figure out how to get the butt end in without damaging the little edge. I was putting the long side in first and after following your guidance it's finally coming along. Even my 6 yr loved this video and has been loving to help with the tapping block and planks. Gonna have to find him an apprenticeship one day. Thank you for this video! Best teacher ever!
I can’t thank you enough for recommending the tap block and pull bar. I have been so frustrated trying to get these pieces to stay together up until I bought these tools and it made all the difference in the world.
Highly intelligent and well-presented. Lots of great tips in here. I’ve been watching multiple tutorials, and they were helpful - but yours was the first to make me feel empowered to tackle this project myself.
People because I took notes. I studied what Joe is teaching. I now install flooring as one of the trades my company offers. Joe is the real deal. Do exactly as he instructs. Yesterday I laid flooring in a bathroom. the only time the tape came out is to figure out how to place planks so I did not end up with a sliver at any wall. Doing that is the hardest part in my opinion. Once I got that straight it was cheater board and skill. No sweat. Customers were very pleased when I was done. Do what Joe is teaching. Don't try to do it your way. Save yourself the sorrow of oops. Namaste.
It took me a month of watching your videos before I started my first project. Everytime I got to use on of your tips and tricks it felt amazing! You are an amazing man for helping us DIY'ers. By no means is laying down floor properly easy, but once you catch up on the learning curve and gain some confidence it isn't so bad. My tip is to have all the proper tools ahead of time. Table saw, sliding compound miter saw, portable workbench, and a scrolling jigsaw, all saved the day! Cheers!
You are an amazing encouraging teacher, thank you. You should be teaching young people who want to learn to construction skills, some people know how to do but, aren’t good teachers.
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, especially your message at the end! I've been installing floors for years, and you've just put me on to some new awesome time saving tips. Stay blessed.
Joe, would like to sincerely thank you for this video. We just finished our first room and are really happy with the results. Could not have done this without your freely given knowledge. I must have watched this video at least 6 times to make sure that I fully understood all the aspects - especially the measuring as we wish to floor the whole house without transitions. So room by room with transitions until we extend beyond that room when the time permits. Best on TH-cam without doubt.
Thank you so much for making this video! I know it took a lot of work. I'm about to do a whole house LVP installation and this answered a bunch of questions that other videos didn't. They mostly focus on one room, but there are some important differences.
Last year I put down 400 square feet of Coretec in my living room and hall. I watched every one of your videos and I can't thank you enough for the hints and tips.
Your videos made installing my laminate flooring so much easier and the end results look so good. Your tips and tricks are invaluable I'm so happy I found your videos. Thanks so much.
@@sothatshowyoudothat Update: Finally started. I get to work on it in my spare time after after i get home so I've only finished the living room and have started down the main hall. The chalk line down the main hall had been a great reference for maintaining straight runs. Using anchor pieces screwed to the floor instead of spacers is game changing! I'm going to go back and re-watch the cheater board video to get more comfortable with that as I start with the doorways. Thanks again! I'll update again layer.
I absolutely loved the blessing at the end! Thank you so much for your videos; it really has been very helpful as a single woman just learning how to use tools after a devastating house fire, terrible contractors, and becoming single for basically the 1st time in my life! ❤💪🔨🗜
Excellent video I spent my whole life in construction and have trained so many people in life I forgot how many I built my first house from ground up when I was 27 years old I’m 71 years old now and had to start over again as I lost my wife 2 and a half years ago So I had to sell my house that was once paid off to satisfy deft take the money I had left over and buy what I could afford A house that I call “the house that should of went to the dump “ So I took what god have me 50 years plus knowledge and began to rebuild my house and my life I’m getting closer to installing the floor and many of what you did I know and many things I learned especially in your layout Simple and easy too understand Your are an excellent teacher I have laid down floors before but always excited to learn new things Congratulations on your video and keep making them there is a lot of us out here that need help
Wow! God bless you Joe!! This video described my upcoming job to a tee! Your tips make it much easier. I wish I could have seen it before I did my first flooring job 2 years ago; it would have gone sooooo much easier. Yes, I subscribed! 🤠 Cheers. Pete
Thank you Joe for this awesome video! I just learned another skill from this video and you just gained another subscriber. God bless you and your family.
I just bought a contour ruller. It was so easy to cut around the door frame. You are truly a professional at ehat you are doing. Thank you so much for the teaching
Joe, really enjoyed the video, the instructions were clear and expertly presented. I've remodeled a few houses including the one my wife and I are living in now. This video shows your craftsmanship and skill, AND your heart. Grace and Peace to you and your family... and your business! New subscriber as well.
Joe, thank you for your excellent videos. I've spent hours watching them trying to build up the courage to do my own vinyl plank floors on a new build. I will need to make some angle cuts around a hearth for a wood stove. Do you have any videos or tips to make the angle cuts accurate? I appreciate your bold faith. God bless you and your family.
Joe, thank you for this educational installation video jammed packed with tips. We bought a house last year and want to replace the upstairs carpet with some type of plank/laminate/SPC floors option but we need to save $. I feel as if we can actually be successful. I love the part where you showed how to fill an unleveled subfloor, as I have these in a few areas that we feel as we walk in the carpet. Question: What is the best way to secure loose plywood on subfloors? We have ALOT of areas that when you step on them, you hear and feel the boards move and squeak. I know we will have to address this issue in addition to some unleveled areas. Thank you and I definitely became a new subscriber!
Thanks John! You will be a good installer! An installer who searches for new ways and then combines all the things they learned into their own way, will do well!!
Joe, I love your simplistic methods of creating a perfect floor. It started out a little on the corny side, but I am so glad I hung in there because your content is second to none. New subscriber. I can not wait to view more of your videos so I can grow in my trade.
You are the real deal brother. I worked for a very reputable by the book carpet and vinyl company and no longer work for them as I have switched to learning tile now. The methods you use are the same methods pass down from the old timers and the things that you say always match up with what I've heard at trade shows and things like that. Truly appreciate your craftsmanship we're losing people like you everyday
If you ever want to remove hot glue from the surface that you bonded to, or , to separate parts that you glued together, just apply some rubbing alcohol to the hot melt glue and it will just release in 60 seconds or less.... just keep the glue joint wet with alcohol and it works like magic.
I just commented on another video of yours, but I want to thank you again for your insight, instruction, & hacks. I will definitely keep the vids handy if I need to reference anything as I'm doing Mom's vinyl plank flooring in her new home's basement next week.
I grew up working finish carpentry for my father in 60's and 70' prior to joining the Army. Old school oak flooring with 7d cut nails.... have handyman business after retirement and this was excellent video and I've gleaned some excellent ideas from it. Appreciate what you're doing.
Thank you so very much. Today was my first time at vinyl plank floor and I could not figure out some things to keep it down. You showed me all the tricks to fix my mistakes, well not really mistakes as much as not being able to see my way through. I did not have enough time to make mistakes because I saw your vid before I proceeded. Thanks again. I will try to do some service for someone else and pass it on in your honor. Thank you.
I was just starting laying some planks down and was just muddling along, saw your video and now I'm kinda semi expert and actually enjoying my new hobby, thanks Joe and may god continue to bless you too. Pete
Thanks! Buying a house in FL, on slab, so hopefully all old flooring comes up easily. Lifeproof will be our product, and your videos will be our guide. Thanks again!!
Couldn't have stumbled across this video at a better time. We just got our planks delivered yesterday. I have been searching youtube for months to find installation videos and only found a couple helpful videos. This is the most thorough I've found. And it just so happened to show up in my suggested feed while I wasn't looking.
Just finished around an island and the cheater board and spacers were a LIFESAVER! Took a little extra time to setup and visualize but it made marking and cutting SO MUCH EASIER.
Flooret is not sold in stores but is the best. Do the research...40 mil wear layer and superior locking system! Love your channel and the Glory to Jesus!@@ Well done sir!!!
Excellent video! I’ve done plank flooring before, but still enjoyed every minute of your video. Zack Williams would be proud of your analogy of how fear is a liar. Love it!
It’s videos like this that deserve a ‘love’ button. Your channel is exactly how to do it. Thank you! Now I will attempt my LVP installation with confidence.
Wow. Just want to say iI m really appreciating your videos. Thank you for reviewing all the different types of flooring and sharing all your expertise on installation, etc. You are helping me in my decision for a floor, as it can be overwhelming. I also plan to do it myself, as I previously have put in a pre-finished solid hardwood as well as an engineered floating hardwood, so now feel more confident purchasing a floor that will be easier for me to DIY. Thank you thank you!
I wish I had found this tutorial BEFORE I started! I could have saved an entire day of trial and error. You have given hope that I CAN do this! Thank you! You are an answer to prayer! I asked God to send me help and I found your coaching. Thank you, again!
Hello Joe, just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for the video. Just installed 900 sqf in my basement following your video. Specifically the “first line is the last line trick and screwing (to concrete) pieces so it doesn’t move. Thanks again.
People I am a professional. What Joe is teaching will set you on a great path. On one install for a customer who watched me doing the install. He said Bob you used tape at first then you did the rest off a piece of scrap. As he scratched his head. That scrap was the cheater board people. You are truly removing a lot of the fear my husband and I have in doing our hallway and two bedrooms as retirees. So far so good. Thank you so much.

Great stuff. I’m about to do my first rental property. Thanks for the detailed advice 👍🏾👍🏾Thanks for the prayer as well. God be with you.

This was the best, and most concise, flooring video I have encountered; of which, I have watched hours.
Such an excellent video. It deserves everyone of the 1.2 million views. Fantastic job, I can only imagine the number of hours involved to produce it.
Thank you!! Many, many hours of editing!!!

Thank you so much!!
Joe is one of the Best TH-cam University Professors for flooring! THANKS!

Cheers!
That is awesome!
You are an amazing encouraging teacher, thank you. You should be teaching young people who want to learn to construction skills, some people know how to do but, aren’t good teachers.
Thank you!
I thoroughly enjoyed this video, especially your message at the end! I've been installing floors for years, and you've just put me on to some new awesome time saving tips. Stay blessed.
Glad it was helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Last year I put down 400 square feet of Coretec in my living room and hall. I watched every one of your videos and I can't thank you enough for the hints and tips.
That is awesome!
Your videos made installing my laminate flooring so much easier and the end results look so good. Your tips and tricks are invaluable I'm so happy I found your videos. Thanks so much.
This has to be the best installation video on the net. Thx for taking the time to make it. You’ve saved my sanity.
Glad it helped
I'm about to floor my new house myself. This is my 4th time watching this video and I haven't even started yet. It's about to get western. 😁
You got this!
Just take your time and you will be fine. It is lime putting a giant jigsaw puzzle together and yo I get to make the pieces.
Excellent video I spent my whole life in construction and have trained so many people in life I forgot how many
I built my first house from ground up when I was 27 years old I’m 71 years old now and had to start over again as I lost my wife 2 and a half years ago
So I had to sell my house that was once paid off to satisfy deft take the money I had left over and buy what I could afford
A house that I call “the house that should of went to the dump “
So I took what god have me
50 years plus knowledge and began to rebuild my house and my life
I’m getting closer to installing the floor and many of what you did I know and many things I learned especially in your layout
Simple and easy too understand
Your are an excellent teacher
I have laid down floors before but always excited to learn new things
Congratulations on your video and keep making them there is a lot of us out here that need help
Thanks for sharing!
Wow! God bless you Joe!! This video described my upcoming job to a tee! Your tips make it much easier. I wish I could have seen it before I did my first flooring job 2 years ago; it would have gone sooooo much easier. Yes, I subscribed! 🤠 Cheers. Pete
Thanks
You the best and nice gentleman I've seen in TH-cam thank u and god bless u and ur family 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Joe for this awesome video! I just learned another skill from this video and you just gained another subscriber. God bless you and your family.
Thanks for the sub!
Carpet and Vinyl guy for 20 years, Your videos have really helped me understand the prosses, Also from MN, Thank you Joe.
Great to hear!
You can do it! nYes, watch this video - th-cam.com/video/N_76A_QIoxw/w-d-xo.html
Me too! Thanks!!!
You are very professional.
I also like the fact that you are a God fearing man.
God bless you your family.
I appreciate that
Joe, thank you for this educational installation video jammed packed with tips.
I would need to know if you have a two layer subfloor or a one layer. Find a vent, remove it and measure the subfloor for me.
I too really appreciate you taking time to share your experiences and making this video to help people like myself learning to lay flooring
Thank you for the kind words!
If you ever want to remove hot glue from the surface that you bonded to, or , to separate parts that you glued together, just apply some rubbing alcohol to the hot melt glue and it will just release in 60 seconds or less.... just keep the glue joint wet with alcohol and it works like magic.
Probably by far the most informative and useful plank flooring install resource I have found.
Great to hear!
I just commented on another video of yours, but I want to thank you again for your insight, instruction, & hacks. I will definitely keep the vids handy if I need to reference anything as I'm doing Mom's vinyl plank flooring in her new home's basement next week.
Hey buddy I've watched a whole bunch of videos on a whole bunch of things but I got to tell you you are a excellent teacher thank you
Thank you for that!
Thank you Joe. God Bless you and your family. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, you too!
I grew up working finish carpentry for my father in 60's and 70' prior to joining the Army. Old school oak flooring with 7d cut nails....
have handyman business after retirement and this was excellent video and I've gleaned some excellent ideas from it.
Appreciate what you're doing.
Thank you!
Joe, you do sooo good in front of the camera!!👌👍👏👏
Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
God bless you & family!
Thank you.
You are welcome and thanks for posting that!
Best instructions, very informative, good family man, and good work ethics
Thanks for all your instructional videos Joe. I am starting a Vinyl Plank floor job in my den today.
I was just starting laying some planks down and was just muddling along, saw your video and now I'm kinda semi expert and actually enjoying my new hobby, thanks Joe and may god continue to bless you too. Pete
Thank you!
Joe, I love to watch your video.
Needed a refresher video as the last floor DIY installation was 5 years ago. Nicely done Joe ... keep on flooring!
Thanks, will do!
I don't know who taught you, or if you are self taught, but you have a great way of showing/explaining what you do. Great job!
Thanks my friend!
Thank You Joe! You have great skills of transferring knowledge.
Thanks! Buying a house in FL, on slab, so hopefully all old flooring comes up easily. Lifeproof will be our product, and your videos will be our guide. Thanks again!!
You can do it!
Couldn't have stumbled across this video at a better time. We just got our planks delivered yesterday. I have been searching youtube for months to find installation videos and only found a couple helpful videos. This is the most thorough I've found. And it just so happened to show up in my suggested feed while I wasn't looking.
Well that is good to hear!
Just finished around an island and the cheater board and spacers were a LIFESAVER! Took a little extra time to setup and visualize but it made marking and cutting SO MUCH EASIER.
Thanks for sharing!
Flooret is not sold in stores but is the best. Do the research...40 mil wear layer and superior locking system! Love your channel and the Glory to Jesus!@@ Well done sir!!!
Thanks for the tip! Flooret is my Favorite Plank and there is a link for them in the description of ALL my videos!
God bless you!
Thank you for taking the time to make these educational videos.
Your information sure did come in handy. Thanks for the way you show us the right way to do it.
Very plain and common sense approach with no B.S. Thanks!
Thanks
Thank you Joe!!
Such great information presented in a great way.
God Bless you as well brother!
Excellent video! I’ve done plank flooring before, but still enjoyed every minute of your video. Zack Williams would be proud of your analogy of how fear is a liar. Love it!
Thank you brother!
It’s videos like this that deserve a ‘love’ button. Your channel is exactly how to do it. Thank you! Now I will attempt my LVP installation with confidence.
You go this!
My back would not survive this video alone. Thank you for your video and great work sir!
Hello Joe, just wanted to drop you a note and thank you for the video. Just installed 900 sqf in my basement following your video. Specifically the “first line is the last line trick and screwing (to concrete) pieces so it doesn’t move. Thanks again.
This is one of the best (and most descriptive) videos that I have ever seen. I appreciate the work you do in helping others.
