This guy is a great teacher and did a fantastic job. He won me over at using the painters tape to not get any dust under the already laid planks, what a clean freak perfectionist. ❤❤❤… I mean professional
I know I’m late to the game, but still wanted to say you did great. I’m a retired general contractor. I wish my own guys and especially flooring subs did work as well as you, and took the time to catch all the little details and actually fix them. I have to say, you the squarest walls of any house I’ve ever seen. I hope you made nice money flipping this house. Oh, and the folks who complain about not saving the old wood floors don’t understand how much time, skill, and money that all takes. If you’re a flipper you have to weight all of that against your budget and skill level. Good job.
About to do this on top of 112 year old original wood floors. Had someone come out and decline to refinish them. Said they were too far gone! Feels like a sin but going over top has to be done!
What the fuck is a "retired general contractor"? How does one retire from being a general contractor when all you donis run a business from a chair and hire everyone else to do all the work.
This is exactly the way I visualized having the flooring seamlessly laid out in my house. Thank you so much for this video tutorial. I’m almost gaining confidence that I can do this myself…. gulp. Other videos have thoroughly convinced me I could NOT do this myself but yours is helping change my mind!
Lots of good information here. I didn’t bother reading ignorant comments because this was an awesome job. I’ve never seen the painters tape, hot glue and wood trick to move the floor. I like that and will have to remember that going forward. Very cool trick. Hope you’re enjoying your new home.
I’m sooo glad I found you!! I love your vibe. You don’t talk too fast yet loads of energy. Very thorough. It’s great when you show your mistakes too. Helps me learn.
Your video quality has substantially gotten better i really like the way you call out your mistskes and are truly trying to learn !!!! This work is not easy
The first 2 minutes of this video solved a mystery for me about how to go about setting up the lvp install. The chalk line from the hallway to the living room was priceless info. I've been wondering about how to figure this out for months lol Thank u!
You did a great job. I see some comments that talk about restoring the woodfloor. They probably don't konw that you need a good skill, spend a lot of time in there. I helped my grandpa to restore 8m2 harwood floor while i was young. That took my whole summer holiday away, a lot of sanding, measuring, leveling, polishing to get those hardwood planks a nice finish. I wouldn't do that again😅
thank you!!!! I was worried I wouldn't be able to install in the opposite direction going into other rooms. I just went and grabbed two scrap pieces... works just fine lol. worrying for nothing. seriously thank you soooo much dude.
Awesome job Buddy! I quit the flooring business 25 years ago due to failing knees and now at the ripe old age of 57 my wife decided we have to install 1,000 sf of LVP on our entire 1st floor lol. I got a laugh seeing the Henry floor patch, I must have gone through 500 lbs of that in my 10 years on the job.
The attention to detail is great. Some ppl would have left the uneveness of the old wood flooring instead of leveling it out like you did. Great video.
havn't watched to the end yet, but so far your video is the best one of the hundreds i have watched.... no one really talks about how to hide the gap around the kitchen, bathroom cabinets, or up against a tub or shower
I am leery to install my flooring backwards but I think watching this a few more times will help me. Any other tips you have I’d really appreciate. Doing the same from hallway to all bedrooms except kitchen and bathrooms those will b tiled to be safer from water.
I love these floors on my rentals. I have installed it them for many other clients too, and I think they are (overall) a great floor. For some reason, I can't seem to want them in my own home.🤷 By the way, thar vinyl floor cutter is worth it. Especially you have many square ft to install-get it.
Awesome video! The best I have seen. Curious as to how much more you would charge to do a home with NO transitions compared to using them. I know this is extra work (and time).
awesome video about to do bathroom next weekend and sometime this century my kitchen lol i assume you finished that ;bathroom with trim to hide the gaps and hold down the flooring?
excellent video. i have watched many flooring videos and confused about underlayment. Some say you need an underlayment with LVP and some say no? I did my upstairs in LVP and i did not use a foam or any type of underlayment. Is underlayment needed or no?
Great video, but I have an honest noob question: I have seen other videos where the ends of the boards have a positive lock (i.e. you don’t have to tap the boards together lengthwise). Wouldn’t that be a better type of board to get?
Looks great. I just wonder, down the road, should you need to replace a section of flooring, just how impossible is that without having to rip up the whole house? I have bad planks of laminate and someone did this whole house seamless thing to before we bought it. There's no easy way to just pull one out of the middle of a floor, is there?
Man I love how thorough you are woth these all the flooring vids have been amazing, going seamless makes a huge difference wow. but i think flooring around the bathroom vanity was one shortcut I'd avoid as now you won't be able to replace it ever.
Ignore the rude comments. This is the best tutorial I’ve seen and exactly what I needed. Thanks!
this man is in no way rude nor made any rude comments so what are you talking about?
@@pebelleeb5422wow how daft lol. He meant rude comments from viewers ROFL
@@XanderBeckett1😂😂😂😂😂
As a former floor guy your tips are perfect. Amazing job👏👏
@@TheRealPhenri and that's what it's for, the diyer
@@TheRealPhenri
Then why did you sit and watch the entire video genius?
@@TheRealPhenri This guy really thought he was doing something with that comment
Rookie DIYer here. This was is very much appreciated. Thank you.
I really enjoy watching you because you do not come off being snobbish and know it all.
This guy is a great teacher and did a fantastic job. He won me over at using the painters tape to not get any dust under the already laid planks, what a clean freak perfectionist. ❤❤❤… I mean professional
This is how my significant other wants our LVP. Thanks for this - I think it will make our install easier.

I’m in the same boat
Mike got the worlds most square house!
and I was waiting for the bathroom to be shown
Nice! Straight to the point. Great job.
Can you please do a video reinstalling baseboards and trim around doors?
Lots of good information here. I didn’t bother reading ignorant comments because this was an awesome job. I’ve never seen the painters tape, hot glue and wood trick to move the floor. I like that and will have to remember that going forward. Very cool trick. Hope you’re enjoying your new home.
I’m glad you at least did underneath the oven. I don’t know how many times I’ve done some repairs to find the floor underneath the oven unfinished.
I really need to thank you for introducing me to Henrys. It saved me when I was tiling my bathroom.
The Best thing of this video is that he goes straight to the point. Brilliant work as well.
Thanks to you, I was able to lay the floor in my daughters without issue AND fix the error in my own! THANK YOU!!!!!!!
Man, those floors came out awesome! Nice job and appreciate you explaining everything!!
This video was perfect! Covered just about everything I wanted to know before tackling my LvP install
I guess 3D printing and flooring meet somewhere bc I have a bell on your channel and here you are lol
10:35 it does not need to be perfect! ... Perfect!
Looks very good, excellent upgrade, modern, clean n value added
the house looks so dang clean now! Great job!
I’m sooo glad I found you!! I love your vibe. You don’t talk too fast yet loads of energy. Very thorough. It’s great when you show your mistakes too. Helps me learn.
The lines running the length of the house are so satisfying.
Your video quality has substantially gotten better i really like the way you call out your mistskes and are truly trying to learn !!!!
This work is not easy
Awesome job! Nothing like a good blank canvas to move into. Your renters will appreciate it.
Gorgeous. I was surprised how you did everything and made it seem possible for me to lay LVP in my own home. Thank you.
You’re doing an incredible job. Learning tons from your videos.
That's amazing, i can't believe you did all that work by yourself!! Great job!
The first 2 minutes of this video solved a mystery for me about how to go about setting up the lvp install. The chalk line from the hallway to the living room was priceless info. I've been wondering about how to figure this out for months lol Thank u!
best tutorial in the internet hands down!!
Amazing video! this is a perfect example of a job well done, and also passion for trade and flooring! thank you.
Wow! Ton of work but what a nice job man!! Not to mention the work of filming of all this while you do the job!
You did a great job. I see some comments that talk about restoring the woodfloor. They probably don't konw that you need a good skill, spend a lot of time in there. That was one of your best videos. The floors turned out great.
Your presentation and delivery are excellent. I’m about to start a ground floor install, including backwards, and this video has set my mind at ease!
thank you!!!! I was worried I wouldn't be able to install in the opposite direction going into other rooms. I just went and grabbed two scrap pieces... works just fine lol. worrying for nothing. seriously thank you soooo much dude.
By far the bst LVP install video I've seen. Great Job my friend and greetings from Bossier City,La
that satisfying feeling when you see it all coming together 🥰🥰

Loved the indepth video, very informative and right to it. Thanks for the info and I'm subscribed. Great job and good video shots.
Great job Mike 👌
Its good that you filled those grout lines. Grout lines can create a hollow sound when walking on it
you always do a great job and love your energy.
This was the best LVP video ive seen. Thanks!!
The attention to detail is great. Some ppl would have left the uneveness of the old wood flooring instead of leveling it out like you did. Great video.
Seems seamless enough for me. Good job!
This is an awesome tutorial!! It gives me the confidence to tackle reflooring our kitchen.
Looks fantastic!
This is insanely amazing! What a job! Congrats!
thank you for the pro tips on transitioning into rooms. We are putting LVP over a concrete slap home. Thanks
Outstanding!! This video will help take me to the next level. Well appreciated!!
Best lvp project i have ever seen, great job🎉
Great work, Mike!

Thanks so much for doing this video, it's exactly what I was looking for in order to tackle my home!!
This video is great; everything I need as I begin to plan my basement flooring project.
the leveling help was A1!

BTW, this is GENIUS work you've done here.
Gorgeous end product! Thanks for the info/video.
Fantastic video. You’ve come a long way.
Wow. Amazing.
Beautiful work.
Great job! Congrats from Argentina
Mike, you steal my carpenter's heart❣️
Amazing job! I got a huge project that we want no transitions. It’ll be my 1st time.

Wow, great job !
This is an amazing tutorial!
Love this series! What knee pads are you using? I can’t find quality ones. Thanks!
Great video, Mike. I am curious if you have a preference of tongue or groove side of boards for the first row against a wall.
Turned out great... Nice work!!
Hello! like the work you do🔨 greetings carpenter from Norway🇳🇴👍
Amazing job Mike
You’re doing an amazing job anything better than I ever could. Liked the long video.
Job well done.
AFTER INSTALLING THIS RECENTLY, I CAN TELL YOU, AN ELECTRIC PLANER IS INVALUBLE!!!!
Super Pro!!!! Nice job!!!
great tutorial, thank you!
Great job 👍🏴
Awesome video! The best I have seen. Curious as to how much more you would charge to do a home with NO transitions compared to using them. I know this is extra work (and time).
It looks so much better. I would love to see what the arv is, how much you totally spend on this, and how many months was the rehab.
Great work!
awesome video about to do bathroom next weekend and sometime this century my kitchen lol i assume you finished that ;bathroom with trim to hide the gaps and hold down the flooring?

I have used double sided tape + 2x4 for those situations I can't get a pull bar in as well.
A lot of work, but it pays! It's very fine and beautiful! 👍
Great job!
Great video, but I have an honest noob question: I have seen other videos where the ends of the boards have a positive lock (i.e. you don’t have to tap the boards together lengthwise). Wouldn’t that be a better type of board to get?
You did so damn good this made me so excited to watch

Nice 🎉🎉🎉 brother am watching from Kenya
I am a perfectionist about to lay vinyl... again. I appreciate your attention to detail.
We used the Tilden LVP from Flooret for our home too! They’re amazing! :)
