You don't necessarily need an old C64 with the old components. I offer a variety of components and also a component set: uni64.com/shop/index.php?m=3 . The old special Commodore chips are also now exists as replica chips, including the VIC-II chip. So it is possible to build a new C64 again. From February/March 2023 I also offer completely soldered boards, so that only the special Commodore chips must be plugged in. Then, In a few minutes you will have a new C64. So you have a unique new C64, with many new possibilities.
I have build an older version, back when it was named ATX64. And I like it.
Are the expansion cards low profile or standard height? I'm thinking about buying a board, so i'm looking for a nice case.
These are in standard height, but I can imagine to create also low profile.
i wonder if there are kits to populate it or if your expected to depopulate a c64?
