Its been years since Ive fished. We are back in the states now and situated so im able to start up fishing again. Your website and youtube vids gave me a great guide in order to start up again. I appreciate your work.
I have a question about the in centrifugal braking system on Abu Garcia ambassadors. I have two brand new c3s that come with the six block brake system. But I also have an older 6601 CB that comes with two blocks? The extra blocks on the C3 seem to help with eliminating backlash when it hits the water. But I find myself having to cast much harder with more effort to get the same casting distance as my 6601 CB. I'm casting so hard that my bait is flying off the hook during the cast. How many brake blocks do these reels actually need for a successful casting distance. For fishing in heavy current I typically use anywhere from 2 to 4 oz sinkers. With the newer c3s I cannot get the same distance with the six brake block system as I can with the older two blocks system. What would be a good compromise between the two? Three blocks or four blocks?
Great Video.I've always been intimidated by bait caster reels. After watching your Video I picked one up at a yard sale and am doing well . Cant hit the bucket yet but I'm close. Oh by the way Great Pod-cast.
Do you have a video on setting drag and braking systems? I've looked but I can't find them. I use abu garcia 6500 c3's if that makes a difference. Thanks!
Been a spinning guy for years and recently got into catfishing on the MS here in St Louis. Feel like once I get past the nesting and some practice I'll love my baitcaster but it sure can be frustrating at first. This is common with all Newby's I'm guessin? :) Thank you for the video and tips.
Getting into muskie fishing and can't exactly do all that well with a spinning reel. I'm used to the low profile baitcasters but have an old Penn 209 that is in really good shape and gonna be using that for muskie. Are there any big differences between the low profile ones eg. Abu Garcia black max or the conventional style? Or is it all casted in a similar fashion
I have a old 50s to ups abu ambassador 5000c bait cast my late grandfather left me I use it to troll in the boat but would like to cast with it too hopefully this will help me get better with no birds neasts
wish i had a place like that without having to walk or drive so far. i dont have a back yard so i can do that, and my front yard is 2 small but has a lot of windows, and trees.
Americas best fisihng spot 100% is Lake Barkley Kentucky. I'm almost possitive the maker of this video does not even know why that simple, American, fact is so

All similar but many of the old reels like the 209 don’t have level winds.
Is it the same a regular bait caster adjusting wise ? And breaks ?
Very helpful,
Thanks....
Love the show.

always used zebco 404. you are right, intimidated. i will give it a shot but do you suggest start with a cheap brand?
This really helped!! Thanks!!
My first time today, I had it backlash about 5 times and lost my tackle each time. Idk if the line broke or my knots slipped or what.
Thank you!

How do you cast overhand?
i got a baitcaster as a gift. could i use it for bass?
Yes
Absolutely
when i cast my line gets tangled do you know wy
Spool tensioner. Covered in this video.
Didn’t learn anything from this?!!!
Watch it again. Maybe it will stick the second time.
Thanks I got the hang of it now!!!
My line keeps stopping when I cast too hard, and my line feeds out really slow, even without my brakeknob. I lost It.
Sounds like you need to service the reel
Thx
Thank you!
Best anglers are from Texas.
I use these for bass
Nice
is the parking lot fish edible?
