  • I built a custom DIY chassis, body and auto body cart from pallet racking. The best part is that it’s collapsible for easy storage when not in use. Please like and subscribe!! Thanks!!!

    I really like the idea of making a rolling table out of the leftovers. I've seen where people will make a desk under a pallet rack.
    Your idea is a really good one. tHanks for the video

    I was going to use pallet rack to build a body cart for my 1955 Chevy but ended up finding a heavy duty, 13’ long (workbench height) welding fixture (?) that was permanently welded together. I cut it apart and added mounting plates so now it bolts together, but more importantly, comes apart so I can store it. I paid $50 for the original welding fixture which had $200 worth of casters.

      Thanks!! A bit of an update: I will say the caster wheel choice I made could have been better. With the weight of the van body on it, it developed flat spots on the rubber wheel. The van body is pretty heavy though. But if you’re planning to build one maybe consider a solid metal wheel if you plan on heavy heavy load.

      @@GillansGarage How wide did you make it and what length beams did you use?

    • @GillansGarage
      @GillansGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jaa02130 42” wide uprights and 9’ beams. I assume you could shorter beams or even the longer 10’ beams.

    Why did you do 2 layers of shelving?

    • @GillansGarage
      @GillansGarage  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Extra support to insure the legs don’t kick out with a load on it, though I’m sure it’s overkill.

    Great idea!! What is the length of the rails?

    • @GillansGarage
      @GillansGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! I used what I had left over which were 9 footers. If I could also make a suggestion, try to find a harder wheels. My wheels have flat spots from sitting loaded for too long.

      Where did you purchase the rails from?

    • @GillansGarage
      @GillansGarage  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @williamguillIII I found a guy selling whole sets of shelving on Facebook. I bought 24’ uprights and cut them in down and made this cart with the leftover pieces. I bought extra rails for this cart build.
