It’s an overrated movie... script not loyal to the novel, silly plot and miscasting... this movie would have been forgotten if not for Audrey Hepburn dressed n Givenchy couture and score by Mancini
This scene was so funny and still makes me laugh, who can ever forget it, it is still timeless and priceless, miss Audrey Hepburn's expressions and the innocence of Mr George Peppard watching her are just BRILLIANT, can we ever imagine the classy Miss Audrey Hepburn and George Peppard stealing in real life, NO, but if they had done I am absolutely sure they would have got away with it as both icons were so endearing they could both charm their way out. Both these icon Hollywood performers must have loved filming this scene as we are enjoying watching their performances.
omg omg omg omg. i've always wanted to watch this movie but never had the time to. But i was reading a book about it where i put two and two together and realized that i've seen this scene on tv before when i was younger. So all along i've seen parts of this movie without knowing!!!!!!! I feel like a detective. You know the way i was able to figure that out.
Audrey was 31 here and could still pass for 24! She had that eternal Peter Pan syndrome where age lags far behind! And few know George Peppard was a WW2 Marine veteran!
I remember seeing this as a kid, and I thought the music during the scene was being played over the speakers in the store, which seemed like odd music for a store to be playing.
The stroll in the 5&10 is delightful! I just love looking at all those things in the store! They were Made in China and Made in Hong Kong. Today, we have Dollar Tree and The Dollar Store! Why pay more when you can pay less? 🤖
My first job ….at 14 …Saturday job …. in Woolworths….l had to pass an exam to get it ….😅…. l used to help myself to the sweets ….. naughty 👿…. l worked on the electrical counter….. it was so boring…. but l met lots of people….. and they paid me ….❤
I got my first lipstick at Woolworth I downtown Boston across where Filings basement when I was 13 almost 14 years old. (1985) I remember because I was not allowed to wear makeup ...
This movie will hold up 100 years from now. It gets better with age.
IT is already 58 years so I have to agree!!
This film somehow always looks so modern. Never dated!
Wouldn't think that if you were japanese
@@StonerWithACamera The Japanese didn't exactly show a lot of care or concern for others not like them in the past, as well...

The scene in which Holly and Paul ran with the masks on along the footpath is so beautiful and romantic!!!!
My favorite scene in one of my favorite films! The music is perfect for the "adventure" of petty shoplifting!
Simply adorable.

Yeah that's so terrible
Just cats that is the way it should be idiot
LOL so true
Esp if you’re not white. But that hasn’t changed. Hopefully, it’s about to.
FORGIVE MY CLICHE...BUT THEY DON'T MAKE MOVIES LIKE THIS ANYMORE....SAD BUT TRUE

That kid at 1:15 is probably the only person from this movie that’s still alive. 😅
@Omarr Phillips what
@@luma2172 what 2
There are alot more people in their 80s and 90s than you think...
this scene is soooo beautiful 🙌
Her accent turned American when she said, “your turn!” So weird to listen to.
One of my favorite line deliveries 😅
Yeah lol. She still sounds exciting when she says it 😂

She got her youthfulness from her yin face, a definite feature of a flamboyant gamine
😂😂😂 look at his face, he is not naughty but Audrey is😂😂😂
Shadow 00 1:34! Ha!
Song name: THE BIG HEIST by HENRY MANCINI
The best movie of the actress. Audrey forever!!.
This is objet d'art.... absolute classic ✨👍
I miss this America. It was perfect. The early part of the 60s was the end point of America's golden age. It's downhill from then.
Uhhhhhhhhhh...........
Like seeing another world...
The red scare. The great race to space. It’s got me like whoa.
fashion style in this movie is awesome, look at the women´s fashion at the street. !!
Classic, beautiful times .
Come on, don't be a chicken! 😂
She's like a teen
I love you this movie ❤❤❤❤❤😂😂
So nice red coat😍
1:07 I never stop laughing at this scene for no mater what many times i watch this scene but still laughing like hell 🤣🤣🤣
1:08 was so endearing!
They've got some pretty nice stuff in a 5&10 cent store!😁
They were ahead of the game when it came to putting masks on in a store. 🤣 #COVID
Who played the sales clerk at 1:09? I'm sure I've seen her in other movies.
Love them ❤

Was this a dry run for robbing Tiffany's, in a 'Thomas Crown Affair' sort of caper?
:23 "...and it's your turn!" I still can't decide if that was a voice over.
the fishbowl is inspired, and she could pull it off, fish and all, and Cat would be so happy!
So effin beautiful Audrey is omg 😍❤😚👑
"I do every now and then to keep my hand in"
Lol
I like this scene is very excitment
Imagine walking into a dollar store nowadays and seeing everybody dress like that
Should have spent ten bucks at the five and dime and robbed Tiffinys!

1961, every item in there will have been USA made and created I'll wager.

We need stores like this ….. we have Five below…. But no 50 cents lower than $5
3:10 CAT! CAT! CAT!
Woolworth's
Actually, we have Dollar Tree's. No single item is more than a dollar (excepting the sales tax, of course!!) Great place.

I was hoping they'd get caught.
Read: Roman, no 'Homan'.
2:21 Just fore-teasing Eyes Wide Shut . . . .

Mid-century's version of a Dollar General
What is this song called?
Do you know, employee theft is a far greater problem than shoplifting? Silly scene.😆
what good esempio!!How to suggest to steal
Most beautyfull woman of all time
Lol they actually bumped into the officer 😂 Lots of suspense on what the would steal lol
Wow look at those prices are definitely a “steal”.
Unfortunately nowadays you can no longer engage in this 'pasttime' since most stores are equipped with CCTV and facial recognition tech 😒
Holly's melt down
The great romantic moment!
🙂💙
😁
Winona Ryder disliked this.
I enjoy a lot of scenes but I just think it's still wrong to steal and that shouldn't be made to look romantic or fun.
oh God!
Маски
Only Audrey Hepburn could make stealing from a five and ten so classy.
Cat!
It's not just the year of the Rabbit, it's also the Year of the Cat come on depending on which country you live.
