People should never forget that Miku created Band Maid. When she contacted Kanami about the band she had an agreement in hand from her agency for the Band Maid concept. Her lyrics are highly respected in Japan. She has done so much to ensure their success. She is one smart tough lady, you would not want be up against her in any negotiations.
The guitar picking that Kanami does while Miku is sitting down is short, but so beautiful, sounds like something Pete Townshend would have done. Miku has a sweet voice, a crazy infectious energy, and her singing lead is a great change up to what they normally do. However, hearing them without Saiki always reminds me of how right Miku was to recruit her. Saiki's voice brings the power and edge, and Miku is a humble little genius! Miku's vision and the hard work & commitment all five have put into it is what sets this band apart. 🎶🎸🥁🎸🎶🔥🙂
Like all of their songs this one puts a smile on my face and I forget about all the stress in my life for a bit. Miku is so freaking adorable and encourages the fan interaction so well. It can't be understated how much humility it took for her to realize that she didn't have a strong enough voice to lead a hard rock band and take a step back. She fills so many roles between rhythm guitarist, secondary vocals, founder, lyricist and spokespigeon. Look forward to you reacting to "Time" an absolutely beautiful song that still rocks and has an enduring message.
Yes, that's right. Miku has dreamed of becoming a singer since she was a child. Then she passed and began attending a local public university, but she could not give up her dream of becoming a singer, so she dropped out of college and recklessly came to Tokyo alone. It's impressive to think of her heart that gave up such an important dream in order to make the band better. I think Miku, who usually acts like a clown, is actually the most sensitive and attentive person.
In their concerts, they never take a full break, but Saiki takes a break at the halfway mark. During that break, Miku does a crazy little comedy routine"Miku's Magic Time" They used to play this song after the routine; In more recent concerts they played "Onset", their instrumental tour-de-force.
When I'm having a shitty day, i love listening to this song. Miku's sweet little voice cheers me right up. She's so cute. Just think though, this is what the band first sounded like before they got Saiki. While she's not as strong as Saiki she's good. But even Miku knew they needed a new, stronger voice.
Perfect song for Miku. I love that main guitar riff. Like many 1000s of fans, I can't help but adore Miku. This is such a fun song and perfect showcase for her.
In addition to all their individual talents they can really work the crowd - no mean feat in Europe and the USA with the huge language barrier. The more I hear the more I am astounded by them.
Miku rates an 11 on the adorableness scale. I haven't seen this track in many months, how can anyone not love her? I never tire of watching and listening to these women.
Miku was born for the stage...a natural entertainer. The real fun thing about Miku interacting with MISA is that MISA is nearly 8" taller than Miku. Kanami on harmony vocals.
Miku's voice is very bright in it timbre which is perfect for this and the other lighter songs! This is (as always) brilliantly written and composed by the band.
Miku's songs are typically very light and poppy. I think she and the rest of them understand that's the kind of music where her voice does particularly well as the lead. She seems like a very happy and jovial individual, which is in a fair contrast to the often dark lyrics she writes for Band-Maid's songs. Her song on the last album "Unseen World" titled "Sayonakidori" is a great song as well. It shows how even now her vocal talents continue to improve. Everyone in the band can say the same with this last album. It's a pretty big step up for all of them.
My favorite of Saiki's pee breaks, even better live where we can see the small (flappy) pigeon's unlimited energy the whole song. And yeah, Kanamincho is a riff dispenser on every song. She doesn't hit twice with the same rock 🤘
Great song on a great album, but going from H-G-K to the intro of Sayonakidori is one of the most jarring tone shifts I’ve ever heard. But then again, jarring tone shifts are part of what makes this band great.
Lots of personality in this band! hahaha...Akane eats all the time; MISA loves to drink; Miku has "a screw loose" (have you seen her "Magic Time show"?); Kanami is infatuated with Saiki's hands; and Saiki is aloof, the Ice Queen. The combo spells all kinds of volatile!
Not an opening. "Rock In Me" aka Saiki's Bathroom Break usually comes in the middle right after Miku's Magic Time. It gives you a good glimpse into haw they might have sounded if they hadn't found another lead singer. Saiki and MISA give BAND-MAID their darker edge, and keep them from sounding all sweetness & light.
Just to let you know Miku Kobato knew she didn't have that great of a voice for lead vocals. That is why she asked management to find a lead vocalist. So Miku and management found Saiki. What rock group has a founder of the band step back and give the lead vocals to someone else. Miku knew what she was doing to make the band better sounding, the rest is history. I think in my opinion Miku Kobato is a Genius, with her founding of the band her being a great lyricist and 24/7 365 days a year promoter. IMHO. Great reaction, I liked the way you picked up on all of the instruments and what they were doing. 👍👍. Again great reaction, Keep Rocking 🤘🤘
I believe this is part of what is called "Miku's Magic Time". In an interview, Miku says it is called that because this is where she casts a spell on the audience.
Miku was taking singing lesson while working in a Maid Cafe. Like the singing style of her grandmother Miku was inspired by traditional Japanese Enka singing. Female Enka singers usually perform wearing an evening dress or a kimono; therefore (opinion) Miku could have came up with the Band-Maiko.
Sayonakidori is the Miku lead song from Unseen World. It shows Miku's guitar progress since it requires Miku to play her guitar during a live performance (which they did on 2/11). There is also kind of a rhythm guitar solo where you might expect a lead solo to keep Miku the focus of the song.
Did you catch Akane trolling Miku with funny faces. Actually, both Kanami and Akane are singing backup. Remember, Kanami started out as a singer/songwriter.
They are great at fan participation, I do believe another track with a similar vibe is Fate live. If you do decide to check out Fate I would go with version from this same show.
About the most openly sexy number they have written. And of course the words are Miku's own. To elaborate: It's the title, yes, and the FEELING of the music. They shove the title in your face and open with a raffish FEEL. At that point, Miku could sing the freaking phone book and come off sexy, with only a smirk. But there's more. Girls, or at least intelligent young women, do not typically flirt by dropping a string of double entendres (unless they've given up trying to be subtle). That, you would expect from a crass male pickup artist. No. They flirt with a look, a movement, a subtle hint. They expect the guy to "get it" and move forward with the more overt stuff. If he doesn't, she probably won't spell it out. "Rock in Me" is overtly about Miku's philosophy of always moving forward into one's dreams. But also, that phrase is in the refrain, repeated three times, and the rest of the refrain COULD be strictly about a generalized dream, or it COULD be more personal. What if one's immediate dream is a desirous relationship with a certain lady? Several elements in the refrain support that possibility. "Hey! Hey! Tell you (a) wonder How exciting this feeling Just go now! As one likes! To win over something just advance Hey! Hey! Tell you (a) wonder In the world that we don't know yet Just go now! As one likes! Shake for some excitement! Rock in Me!" I see a strongly layered meaning there: it's about advancing your dreams, and about Rock as music. And if you only look at one element or another, that might be all. But with the title phrase repeated, in the context of the rest of the song, as especially with the sound and feel of the music, all while fairly skipping across the stage in her usual gear with the short dress and white tights, I assert that it is sexy as hell, angelically innocent, and brilliantly subtle all at the same time. With the whole kawaii childlike cuteness thing traditionally expected to be the way adult women express their femininity in Japanese society, and the way it is used to express sexiness in modern Japan, this is about as obvious as she can be, IMHO. Context is everything. I believe she is saying a lot sexually, but playfully and sweetly, as art. "Is that another riff there?" Um yeah, it's Band-Maid with Riff Machine Tono!
I hate when people tritely refer to these periods as Saiki's pee breaks. She can't belt out vocals for two solid hours. She needs to preserve her voice. She already had vocal cord polyps removed once.
I think Miku made the pee break reference in an interview, can’t be sure I remember it right, I try to view everything I can find and then lose it again.

on a good I listen to lots of Band Maid on a bad day I listen to more Band Maid to turn it into a good day!

This song doesn't get reacted to enough, it one of my favourites
That was great. Even the fun breaks are so musically sound. What a band!!!
🤘🤘❤🤘🤘 MISA MISA MISA!!!!! 🤘🤘
This is so fun!!!!! 😁✌
MOE! MOE! KYUN! KYUN!
Miku deserves her time in the spotlight. . So much energy but Saiki need not worry too much.
Miku's voice is very bright in it timbre which is perfect for this and the other lighter songs!

This song has a cool swing/jazz feel to it, similar to "Miss Murder" by AFI and "Tainted Love" by Soft Cel.
We love our little pigeon so 🕊️❤️ - po!
Clap comes from a backing track, the audience and my first hookup. 😩
😆
I am a big Miku fan. The energy she adds to the band should not be underestimated, despite the virtuoso trio behind her here.
My favorite of Saiki's pee breaks, even better live where we can see the small (flappy) pigeon's unlimited energy the whole song. And yeah, Kanamincho is a riff dispenser on every song. She doesn't hit twice with the same rock 🤘
Great reaction bro. Not one of these women can be replaced! That would be the end of a era! Who can't love them

Sayonakidori is the latest Miku track off Unseen World if you want to check it out.

...and, a guest appearance by Little Hat-san! All Hail, Little Hat-san.

Yay Miku song! 🤗 Now you have to do my favorite Miku song, Time! ⏰
Miku "magic time" is something you get in Maid Cafe's. This song is set to hype up crowd and make Saiki voice resting a little longer.
Hey, this one SWINGS! In the old style...too cool...they do like to flirt with jazz, don't they...
MISA!!!! MISA!!!! MISA!!! 🥃🥃🥃
i luv Rock In Me. This is Miku's song right after Omaginai Time
Miku is just too adorable, Akane goes Jazz drumming and the bass&guitar lick at 5:22 is brutal
This song has much more of a rock feel on the album version (rather than the poppier feel here). I have the album.
one of my other 5 top favs. i love me some Pigeon!!!!

This was performed while Saiki was powdering her pretty nose.....
...and the energizer bunny...err pigeon just got the crowd going.
That was unexpected 🤣
Did you catch Akane trolling Miku with funny faces. Actually, both Kanami and Akane are singing backup. Remember, Kanami started out as a singer/songwriter.
good choice! i fun it!
You also need to checkout their song time
They are great at fan participation, I do believe another track with a similar vibe is Fate live. If you do decide to check out Fate I would go with version from this same show.
This is on the Domination album.
Kanami is also doing all of the backing vocals

Somewhere is a copy of this video clip with subtitles, so you can understand what Miku says in her speeches.
if you likethis then listen to time by mikuand bandmaid

Try Why Why Why off the new album. No video just Spotify.
How possible? The two best vocalists of the worlds are in same band.
too nuanced playing for a pop-leaning track.
