    You need to get Band-Maid Prime which has the entire show. This was the end of her magic time. She started the song without the band with a backing track. The music gave out and Miku started getting frustrated. It was all an act and Miku was acting. She said "buck up Kobato, you can do this." Then the band came on and the song started.

    It's a wonder that Miku could sing the song at all. She spent the ten minutes before this song talking to the audience and then doing Omajinai Time, including screaming call-and-response with the audience.

    Here is a rough translation you asked for:
    Miku: I'm sure members will come out this time...I hope😓
    (Miku repeated the word "kitto" which means "surely")
    (to the audience) I need bigger claps so that members will come out.
    Please collaborate with me! Kruppo, start!!
    (claps)
    (Mincho came out, and Miku tried to hug her, but Mincho avoided Miku😂)
    (Ah-chan walked in eating a banana🦍🍌🥁)
    (MISA came out, prepared to perform, and started to drink)
    Miku: Is your drink good? MISA is drinking her whiskey straight as usual.
    MISA: I emptied the bottle😥
    Miku: (to the audience) I solicit alcohol!
    Let' have fun! Rock in me!

    I have seen a translated version somewhere. But this gives you a glimpse of what BAND-MAID would have been if they hadn't found Saiki. All Sweetness & Light. It's basically Kulppo. And it's fun, but it's The Darkness Sisters Saiki & MISA that give BAND-MAID their edginess.

  • @bandmaidfanATL
    @bandmaidfanATL ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Yes, they generally have 3 MCs as they call them. One is MISA's opening ceremony and Miku's Omaginaitime, and one is Saiki-Sensei's Japanese lesson time and Akane's banana time.

    • @armynurseboy
      @armynurseboy ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Miku possesses an inexhaustible energy. We could notice it in the US tour where she ends it with an almost intact physical health unlike the other Maids. His vocal power has increased tenfold. She screams and can hold the note longer than Saiki. You will really enjoy the Annaheim concert especially if you are positioned in front of Miku, I guarantee it, LBS. 9.7 isn't bad. THANKS.

    Just before this clip Miku is on stage finishing up her talk and the opening music for Rock In Me starts playing on the PA. She starts singing and then apparently realizes no band members are there. That's when this clip starts and she is saying to herself, and the audience, if we try real hard we can get the members to join her on stage.

  • @phaeron
    @phaeron ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I totally agree that Miku certainly didn't give her best vocal performance here, but who really cares? This part of the show is pure entertainment, and like you said, this is where she pushed the level from 10/10 to 11/10. I can't imagine a situation where I don't prefer to see and hear her like this, rather than restrained to sound better vocally. Not only would she give up her personality, for which I like her so much, but Band-Maid would also lose an important trait that somehow just belongs to the name (imo).

  • @interstellardave
    @interstellardave ปีที่แล้ว +3

    This is just a tremendously fun song where she can really move around and work the crowd without worrying about playing guitar. They didn’t play it much during the tour last year. When it comes to a song where she can really show off musically and vocally, that’s Sayonakidori. That song was played at every venue last year in the US and it really seemed to be a highlight for many people, myself included.

  • @armynurseboy
    @armynurseboy ปีที่แล้ว +6

    This song has such a cool rocking swing vibe to it. Kinda like "Tainted Love" meets "Hey Miss Murder".
    And yes, they do a spot in the middle of the show where they do an instrumental or two, with a Miku led song or two sandwiching Omajinai Time. This gives Saiki a good 15-20 minute break to rest her voice. During the other MC times, the band members usually get 5-10 minutes. The only person who gets the least amount of break is Miku, she's literally "on" the entire show. I'll see you in Anaheim!

  • @Valenvenge
    @Valenvenge ปีที่แล้ว +4

    they played a few song during saiki break... if they play this song she would put down the guitar, others song she sing and play the guitar at the same time...
    Miku is just a natural on stage and without the guitar to strap her in place she just bounce around the stahge

    Not going to jump on ya BG, You heard what you heard. Her voice was a little down, but this was over an hour an twenty minutes in their concert and Miku had spent most of her time on stage. I think I read that she only left the stage once and for less than 3 minutes, maybe just enough time to go to the bathroom, then she was back on stage. So this far into the concert, when you add in the yelling she had done just prior to this, her voice is going to be a little off from normal.

    Miku absolutely still does the parts where she interacts with the audience during the show, other members will too, though Miku seems the most involved. Her charisma is absolutely off the charts and I always say this.
    Mincho is a guitar virtuoso
    Misa is an unbelievable bassist
    Akane is a gorilla that wales on the drums
    Saiki has sultry vocals and can control an audience with the flick of a wrist
    But Miku… Miku is a fscking rockstar. She is the definition of a rockstar. She feeds endless energy into the audience and we echo it right back to her. She makes this band work live… it’s hard to explain until you see it, then you’ll absolutely understand her force of will to put on a show.

    Yeah during their last US tour Miku would switch between Rock in Me and Sayanakadori. In chicago when I saw them she did Rock in Me. If you see live cams from that show her voice is a lot better bc she didn't spend as much time running around and chanting before the song.

    Miku's current vocal performances are better, but the same is true of Saiki. Miku really owns the stage here, so that elevates the performance for me.

  • @MaartenT
    @MaartenT ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I love watching Miku perform Rock In Me. I really didn't like this track that much the first couple of times I heard it, but it became a close second to Sayonakidori for me as far as Miku songs go. But by watching both songs through the fancams of the US shows last year I have noticed that Miku seems by far the most in her element during Rock In Me. She doesn't need to think about her guitar and can just sing and walk around (including going off stage during one of the US shows). You can clearly see that she enjoys performing all of her solo songs a lot, but it seems to me that she loves performing Rock In Me just a tiny bit more than the others, which makes it my favourite Miku track to see them perform even though I prefer Sayonakidori just a tiny bit more to listen to.

      @@Kissthetoad321
      I know most people like "Time" a lot.
      For me it's my least favourite Miku song with "Summer Drive". I don't like that song and I really don't like the chorus. But it's just a taste thing, it's a well made song. It was ok on the acoustic set, but even there I would have happily switch it out for most other songs.
      It's one of the fan favourites that I still don't really like too much, together with Daydreaming and Smile (for the same reasons, they sound "whiny" to me). But I know you are not alone, there are plenty of people that have "Time" as their favourite Miku song.

    • @Kissthetoad321
      @Kissthetoad321 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MaartenT I understand what you mean. Daydreaming is also one of my favorite songs that I call an emotional song. Summer Drive is not a song that I have often listened to, I admit. The least interesting of MIJ. But everyone has their own tastes.

    • @MaartenT
      @MaartenT ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Kissthetoad321
      I completely agree with that. It's just a style of song I have never gotten into. I know the sound of Daydreaming has been compared with U2 before and I don't really like their sound either. Emotional songs depend for me on what emotion they convey and how they do it, if it's the vocals it's probably not for me, but there is plenty of music that make me emotional because of the instruments.

    • @Kissthetoad321
      @Kissthetoad321 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MaartenT Good point. Mincho's guitar solo in Daydreaming's case delivers just as much emotion, IMO, as Saki and Miku's vocals. Also in Anemone.
