Chess Tournaments suck. They check opponents history and spend endless time to study an opening he doesnt know to take the game tree to some trap they didnt even think of themselves. BOOOOOOORING and LAME
While they are both super sweet and friendly I'd say the difference is that Anna just grinds you to a nub until you can't do anything but lose. Pia is all innocent and non-threatening until she suddenly smashes your face into a pole.
What I like about Pia is that she mentions Anna in every single interview of her. Even when Anna was still a child. I wish my mother loved me that much. Pia’s soothing voice also makes me calm. She’s one of the stars of ‘unintentional ASMR’, and rightfully so. Good luck, Anna. You have made vast improvements over the last year.
@@samuellinn yeah, no duh. The point was more, this isn't about improving her play so not really an instance of dedication. It's a dedication to her content, but not an improvement in chess as she has already studied this game.
@@samuellinn It was not a negative comment, every chess streamer here is monetizing their profession. Win or Lose. She and Eric were very dedicated in both posting their games yesterday.
Well played Anna, I was able to catch some of it live and I loved how you just kept on fighting! I’m playing in a tournament in 3 days so these recaps are super insightful. Best of luck tomorrow!😊
Love your positivity. I tried to guess from your presentation and demeanor whether you had won or lost but realized I had no idea until late in the video.
One thing I love about you is your love for the game, win or lose. That, and how you show what you learned even if you did lose. Of course I also like how you celebrate winning! Your videos are valuable for learning AND entertainment!
Anna - don't worry about us! Get sleep, rest and play as best as you can - Don't do what Levy Rozman has done, he tried to play well and report on every game (That's insanely stressful!) I want you to win! Your rest, health and winning at chess should be your number one priority. Good luck!
Good luck! I *nearly* understood your explanation of the game until near the end (when the pace picked up!). You have single-handedly got me back playing Chess (after lots of Go) - I'm enjoying losing for the first time, so thanks, Anna! X
13:49 - p e3 - white takes - q f1 takes rook checkmate or p e3 - white dont take - p f2 takes pawn and check - king moves h1 or g2 - q h3 check if king g2 , takes rook checkmate or if king go h1 something else will happen maybe im just mambling but it looks good
seeing you play over the board so calmly and professionally is strange, so used to the near constant smiles/laughter and general emotional reaction when you play😄😄you have bundles of support keep smashing it♥️
It was pretty interesting to follow the whole stream of this match. That guy is amazing. He was not even looking at the board, he had it all in his mind, that's so mind blowing to me.
Thank you for not just abandoning us, chess illiterates, while you venture in the world of Chess. Your very illustrated explanations are a bliss in the slow Chess learning process. My modest tip of advice. Stay away from those typical Icelandic delicacies, like fermented shark or sheep's head, until you finish the Chess tournament. Nothing against going Vikinger, just to keep on the safe side, mark me. Best luck and cheers!
8:57 I feel like " capturing towards the center" don't apply as much if your opponent has castled cause if you have the option to capture towards the king, you might exchange your doubled pawn to weaken the opponents king at one point. At least that's a plan i like to do ^^'
To be fair, your mom didn't see that King move either until she noticed the evaluation bar jump in black's favor. At least, that's what it seemed like when watching it live. Good game, and I'm rooting for you!
I wish you the best of luck tomorrow! Everythime you bring up your mom I just think of how proud she is. How her daughter is an incredible chess player and person in general, like mother like daughter.

somebody, please tell me why here at 9:56, why isn't Be7 trapping the queen not the best move?? like she said it's supposed to Qe7, and I just don't understand why.. (for some context about me, im 1500)
Anna Thank you! for the content, Please make some videos about what do you consider in a X position to calculate lines Calculation, Visualization (How do you practice ?)
Best of luck! Love your videos! 9:19 if you attack the white queen with the dark square bishop, it is almost trapped. I think the only good response for white would be Queen c7 to offer a queen trade. 10:07 why not bishop e7? Doesn't bishop e7 guarantee that you can take their queen without losing yours?
Excellent analysis and commentary. I'm a bit surprised that they allow a camera to be running during the actual playing of the game. Seems to be a bit of a security issue.
Eric, in his post, mentioned it's a little cold there in Iceland. Is that seasonal weather? I thought the Spring there usually is pleasant. Well, i hope you're enjoying your stay, and as I said earlier: I really like that sweater. Good luck.
Great video Anna! I will be watching all your videos because I want to know what happens with all the games you play in this tournament! Love you Anna!

I am sad for your loss but in the other hand I am happy for Petros because he is a greek guy like me and I want greek players to go well
I love this recap! Awesome setting and so well explained. Very well fought against a tough opponent for the first game.

anna you definitely gave him a strong game so props 👍
This post game analysis was great. I love the drive to improve. 👍
9:21 doesnt bishop e7 trap the queen or am I missing smth?
The white queen can go to c7, where it is attacked by the black queen, but defended by the rook. So the queen wouldn't be lost, but traded
Good luck Anna!!!💪🏼💪🏼❤

At 6:36 what about Bf6. If bishop takes, then I take back with the queen. It seems like a solid position and I got rid of white's annoying bishop, no?

@9:17. Did the queen not hang for White? if you pulled back the bishop on F6 to E7?

I must be missing something. A 10:40, wouldn't Bishop to e7 trap the white Queen?...
White responds Rook takes C8.
Then bishop takes rook and a queen trade follows.
