Wise words by Ramana Maharishi. But, I have always been conflcted by two opposing or contradictory thoughts / sayings - one which says we should treat others the way we want to be treated by others, while the other saying is about treating others the way we are treated by others. In life, I have often found that treating others with respect and kindness doesn't always get reciprocated. People treat you the way THEY are not the way YOU are. Hence, in this modern era, I too would advise, from my own lived experiences, that one must treat others with caution. Neither be too kind nor be too rude. But then to each his own 🙏

This is true indeed. In fact, even our scriptures have always recommended being thoughtful in the way we treat others. Even Swami Vivekananda said man must no go gushing into friendships. He must consider the character and values of the other, and only then decide whether one should befriend them. And when someone is repeatedly trying to hurt you, shut them down-hard.

@@DailySattvik Yes. In fact, I recently came across another fine statement (attributed to Gautama Buddha) that kindness without wisdom leads to suffering. So true. I've learnt from my own experiences in life, that no saying (like, honesty is the best policy) is without necessary caveats.

To put it honestly - it's easier said than done my friend. I understand what you wanted to convey through Ramana Maharshi Ji's quote too but end of the day we are still mortal beings far away from reaching *enlightenment* and maintain such a stoic attitude. Nevertheless keep churning out videos like these as I agree with 95% of them (the remaining 5% might be because of my spiritual illiteracy😊)

I agree they're easier said than done, my friend 🙂
But the aim is not to become like Lord Rama overnight (or even in this birth). It's to keep moving towards the highest level of peace.
As Lao Tzu said, the journey to a thousand miles begins with one step.
