Hi Daniel. They worried just enough about Western stuff to have spare parts for your motorcycle obviously. I've ridden m'cycles too, I recommend you read "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance". Cheers, P.R.
This took me right out of a trap for the moment, feeling of depression because I wasn't taking the steps to fulfill my purpose, or, I see now, my illusion of one. Been working on balance big time. Thanks, got me through this one.
I agree it’s not good to beat yourself up about the things you want to do but are having a hard time doing. However it’s also bad for the spirit to be lazy is your goals and what you want to accomplish. Think of your death bed
I began to start noticing the overwhelming amount of attention that has been placed on "a purpose". While I originally agreed with it wholeheartedly, I became quite stressed in my search. A red flag popped up just a week ago and I started thinking that a purpose was possibly just a mind construct, an amazing trick by the mind. I wasn't sure how to remove myself from it but after watching this video, I feel I already have. Thank you.
If you seek a purpose you are seeking madness. If you find a purpose you are mad. I am so glad I never found a purpose and now have no desire to find one.
Talking in absolutes like that is kinda like having purpose. You're creating a box that limits possibilities. It is possible to seek and then become satisfied enough to live in present moments...
I love Sadhguru...Iam a failure..in Education,unemployed,separated,stressful..but Iam blessed. I have no purpose but M enjoying life..because I live and m satisfied
I have discovered that our "purpose" is to enhance our symbiotic existence, i.e., do things to make our co-inhabitance more pleasurable, efficient, and happy. I try to live my life helping others feel like their life is worth living, following the "golden rule", turning my attention to what other people need.
I am glad all of you responded to this with positivity. Stop having a purpose you need to "fulfill" and just help others live and be happy, stop pushing your agenda and start embracing the art of being nobody...life is much easier and pure that way...when kids are playing...they aren't trying to be someone, they are just being and in the moment. Stop being defined by your job position...Does your job define your life...or do you? Do you see the problem with this false hope of identitying yourself?
Well, earning a living does take focus and commitment. It's not all "play". But to me, it's balance and awareness that there is more to us than the mundane wage earner, or whatever title we may have. I think many jobs because they can be so technical or repetitive don't value our creativity and uniqueness.
His words changed my life. I have anxiety and I’m also a nurse when I got panic attacks at work I quit I felt like a failure because this was my purpose in life, I had bad anxiety, I dont look at the world like that anymore, I have no purpose my purpose is to live, i trapped my self in this safe goal of mine and the minute it cracked my whole life changed, i am more stress freee now
From someone who has had anxiety since I was little, off and on...thank God I've learned when it hits hard it will get better in time. Anyway, I know the horrible feeling so I understand...it's not really a choice to do what you have to do to cope with anxiety. Sometimes I wish we could meet the other people who comment here...bet we would be friends! haha
If you really need a purpose in this life, create one and follow that. My purpose is to live my life without fear or worry, inspire others to do the same, and to offer a little assistance to my fellow travelers who are on their personal journey, if they should fall by the wayside! Life is good!
There is a book by Gaurav Pattnaik, it’s called Finding Shiva.. it gives some deep and interesting perspectives on origin and purpose of life in a scientific way.
Consider the Lillies of the field.... while I'm not a Christian, this passage has always been meaningful to me. Thank you Guruji for sharing this wisdom with us!
The easiest purpose to follow for me is "to make the world a better place" in whatever way you can. Keeps things open and allows you focus on the present most of the time.
Every morning George Harrison had breakfast with his family in his later life. As they sat around the table he asked "What should we do today to make life better?" they talked about it while they ate them they did what they could with the skills and resources they had at their disposal
You have moved me to tears, which is not whom iam, my family always says iam most happy when I have a purpose, I feel I have been floundering in life for the last year for I have been seeking a new purpose, a new insanity in my life thank you for your words, they so ring true.
Purpose is source of pain and stress. Life without purpose is spontaneus life, without calculations..... calculations are always connected to purpose. Most of the people do things just for their own profit and benefit. And when they fulfill one purpose, than they search for another one. Never satisfied, never enough..... I just enjoy life with everything it brings.... pain, love, disappointment, all those ups and downs....but without plans.
Well, ultimately everything is ILLUSION anyway, if the purpose is to be beyond this duality, the suffering has a purpose to make one get into God consciousness, without suffering, we'd have no motivation to want to quit this Samsara, either way, we're going to die soon, but if you want to come back here billions of times, and experience the same suffering in each birth- you're at liberty to do so.
All is ONE! Know this, FEEL this, BE this. The rest is just chatter for the mind (which is also the ONE appearing as chatter of course!) As soon as I say, “All is ONE,” to myself the smiles and chuckles appear and all is seamless and whole.
Joy is the key. Joy and appreciation in the easy and the hard. Knowing that it unfolds just like it is meant to and there is great love for you here. You are loved. You are being guided to create, to expand, to appreciate. Let go the oars and flow. You are exactly where you are supposed to be. Enjoy the journey. That is the joy of life.
The purpose is to perpetuate in a small way the species forward, just by being alive every day everyone is contributing without knowing it in there own individual way😘
I think what he is saying definitely has value in that you shouldn’t focus so much on a “purpose or meaning“. But I think people should have some general goals or at least something that they like to do and look forward to. If you don’t have these things, then life becomes very depressing. The problem is you can try and live like a child where all you do is focus onthe present, but as adults you are always thinking about the future. You have to have a balance between the two. Maybe that’s what he’s saying.
Well, life is going to be depressing anyway- even if you have goals and purposes, they will one day fade, in time, and other things can go wrong too! Happiness even upto Brahma-loka is temporary, and he lives trillions of years, still, even with that fantastic lifespan, it is less than a lightning flash compared to eternity.
Eckhart Tolle explains it in a way that's a little easier for me to understand... "Being" is the primary purpose in life...but the "Doing" is not bad...its necessary to life in our world... but it's secondary to "Being"
1:56 Just like that high school commencement that got so much attention a few years back. You are important, but we need to stop thinking we are somehow special. There are a handful of truly special people, but most of us are not. But, we, each and every one of us, are important.
In the part he refers to the war has some very important things to say about this that happens in Palestine and the fanatics in both sides. Its very useful!!
lt's useful. Is it also not about power and egos and labeling one another as 'the other' also? And the use of violence throughout history to solve problems between countries?
Once it is understood that everything is interconnected, it logically follows that when one suffers, to some degree, we all suffer. Therefore, everyone has the same purpose. To self improve. This process never ends. So the question of what does one do in life after they fulfill their purpose assumes there is something different to do in the future. Self improvement never ends. As one self improves one gains tremendous benefit from practicing the knowledge one gains as self improvement occurs. The human conscience motivates concern for the self and others and consequently will motivate the desire to assist others in gaining that knowledge that helped you along the path of self improvement. All spiritual figures throughout history did the same thing. They sought knowledge, practiced what they learned and then used that knowledge to assist others along their own path of self improvement.
Hi there birdie. I agree, and self-improvement means moral improvement because that affects others as much as ourselves. The easiest way to improve everyone at the same time is to be honest, because honesty gives others THE TRUTH, which improves them. In other words "know (speak) the truth and the truth shall make you free". Cheers, P.R.
@@philliprobinson7724 wow!! An oasis in the desert. Thank you fellow traveler. Yes. And morality must be objectively derived which the human conscience and our ability to discern helps with immensely.
Hi @@birdsinacage6627. Spot on. Thanks for your refreshing words, and also watering my camels. Deserts bloom after a shower of rain. Your comment "objectively derived" is true, honesty is the only secular ethic needed to practice science, and the only ethic that doesn't need a "God" to justify it. Even atheists know that honesty is necessary to communicate meaningfully. Maybe that's why the church, despite their best intentions, neglected honesty as a moral axiom. For them, anything that didn't "give God the glory" first, wasn't "worth the candle". (Monks worked the fields by day, and studied by night, hence the saying.) Cheers, P.R.
@@philliprobinson7724 thank you my truth seeking friend. Your comments regarding deceit are spot on. Peruse "radical honesty" by brad Blanton. As far as why society is mired in deceit read the first chapter of "the curse of cannan" by Eustace Mullins. Also understand that the judeo-christian conception of God has been misinterpreted beyond belief. Review the works of Mauro biglino and Paul Wallis. An understanding of basic quantum physics and cosmology would lead the objective researcher to conclude there is a guiding organizing designing quality to physical reality. This conception has been supported by the likes of Tesla, Spinoza, Einstein , Darwin and most recently John Wheelers strong anthropic principle. Again we have been and continue to be ubiquitously deceived. Our unique internal power has been intentionally occulted from us and these dime store gurus are nothing more than shill apologists who unwittingly, or not, promote a don't worry, be happy narrative, eerily reminiscent of the elite globalist refrain: "you'll own nothing and be happy", paving the cognitive dissonant road toward a totalitarian dystopia. Glimpse the world view of the great dalia lama for a quick example and pass this shit on. These are just snippets as regards everyone's purpose and take delight in the fact that purpose, far beyond "just being" takes monumental effort which includes all this esoteric data and infinitely more.
did you not watch the video? your reasoning "Once it is understood ... that when one suffers....we all suffer Therefore, everyone has the same purpose. .." does not follow from your premise to your conclusion because we have no purpose - watch the video and listen to the words - when you declare a purpose for yourself, or anyone else, you put yourself in a self-made trap the mental processes of pattern recognition together with problem solving are inherent in human life, in all life. It happens without you needing to "improve yourself". It happens subconsciously you are perfect just the way you are find the balance in your life between the things that make your life better, and the things that make your life worse, and walk in between
I've been researching this topic long time and many brilliant minds in personal growing that I admire (also as I admire Guru) agree that purpose cannot be found, because if you seek sth, means you lack it, therefore you search from lacking and that only brings misery. Purpose is something you stumble on, and it's sth always social related. The purpose makes your life and other people's life better, and that feeling is something that makes you wake ap happy and with the right attitude every morning, so I don't think they're mad, as he says. Balance is everything in life, but disagree now with him.... it's always important to ask ourselves everything, not only what we listen, but also be aware and listen our heart, then we'll reach out essence and awake :)
Mind blowing as a soldier, now veteran, I thank you for that statement, you fight because you have too. So many people don’t understand why we serve. Because I watched the suffering of others in places not as fortunate on tv, and I knew I could do something. Not for personal gain, lord knows the pay isn’t the greatest, but by doing my part so some may not have too suffer. It was just something I had to do for as long as I remember not a purpose but a need to feel like me. If that makes sense. Like Afghanistan, I’m not disheartened by the return of the Taliban, not happy, but am at peace with the realization that for 10 years they had the ability too live as they choose. The former Yugoslavia is much harder too come too Terms with, but such is war. Now I is because I am. That’s my philosophy.
I believe redemption and kindness are the great purposes. Essentially: aking ourselves and our world better through our interactions and deeds with others and ourselves. I believe we can find meaning from that. However, I am thankful for his message, it is very calming and interesting
When you’re living life right, that’s when you’re able to reflect and become aware of everything you’ve conquered and there your purpose begins. That’s why it’s called life’s purpose not purpose then life. ❤
This man is amazing. SO much wisdom and knowledge. I've read Inner Engineering but need to do it again. Reading his Flowers in the Path. SO good. Atma namaste, Sadhguru.
Do NOT stop looking for a purpose in life. The purpose is to, through life experiences, good and bad, to learn about your SELF, the good and the bad. Once that is accomplished, you will find peace. Failure to do this makes you a sucker for every control freak in the world.
What if there is no self. Therefore there is nothing to learn about your self. And this is why there is no purpose for your self. In fact, what if "self" is your own psychological creation, and you trying to learn about it is like a dog chasing it's tail.
I friggin loved this. I stopped looking for my purpose, because even the most genius or smartest person in this world won't be able to answer mine or their purpose. We just need to all live life and enjoy the moment. Enjoy our freedom. Enjoy exploring the possibilities. We need to let go of everything. Of course we still have our loved ones that give us a purpose, but what if they die and you are left alone.. so what now? We have to just embrace life and love each moment of peace and tranquility, and to learn to evade danger to survive another day. Accept the things we cannot change in the world, to have courage to change what I can for the better, and the wisdom to know right from wrong.
Yes by informing us we have no purpose, when God clearly states our puorpose is to give him praise and to extend his love to our brothers so they can be experience His liberation and love also and the whole of humanity can be lifted. Sounds like a purpose to me. Sadhguru maybe wise but he is missing this crucial distinction. Yes the ego mind of purpose must be dimantled, bit it should be replaced by this higher spiritual purpose for creation.
Sorry mate. I have a purpose. I came here with a purpose to help others. And now I am using my life experience to help many others if they choose. By doing this. Much future harm will be abated for generations of people to come. I only wish someone would have told me these things when I was young. So now I share them with new generations. That is my purpose. To help. Raise awareness of what is possible for us if we choose. I get what he’s saying. I’m not sure he gets what I’m saying. We chose to come here and we chose with a purpose to help us grow spiritually. Amen Sadhguru!
I agree. Our purpose is to raise our level of awareness, to wake up from the dream of life, and realize we are all part of one being. And to help others know this. The creator and the created are one and the same. "I and my Father are one" - John 10:30 KJV
I once saw a psychologist over 20 years ago, he said the same thing. Stop looking for a purpose in your career and job, because everyone thinks they need a purpose.
The purpose of life is to balance. The meaning of life is to exist. We are all learning this but Life does have a meaning and a purpose. Sad guru is only alive. He isn't looking from that point of veiw so he cannot see these things in an overview that he can comprehend. Life is the serenity prayer. The meaning is balance among the unbalanced The purpose is to exist! Seek balance in Love is a deeper understanding that's balance among balance. Life is a long tightrope walk of Balance.
I have to say Thank You to and for Sadhguru for shining his Light all over the World! And most likely the Universe.
What a force Sadhguru is to this world, immensely eye opening speech.
Purpose of life- To free oneself from phycological traps to find balance within for what's all around you🙌
I began to start noticing the overwhelming amount of attention that has been placed on "a purpose".
You are a FOOL !.VERY UNWISE UNGODLY FOOL WE ALL HAVE A PURPOSE EXCEPT YOU
Those who always seek are always lost, no matter their success
I am there. You should see how gracefully lost I truely am.
Be here now
Absolutely love that
Talking in absolutes like that is kinda like having purpose.
Hi sytdoc. Just be honest, and you give the priceless gift of truth. Cheers, P.R.
"Freedom without balance is destruction." This was what i needed to hear at this moment. Thank you for this piece as it is helpful atm.
I am trying to become nobody, but I guess if I am trying then probably it's won't work...Just be ? so so hard
I try to live in the moment....it's not easy, but I know that's my purpose.
Have you read Eckhart Tolle ?
Hidden Money Manifestation on Shirlest feels like having a secret weapon. It's empowering to take control of my financial destiny.
thank you
I agree
I found it on shirlest and its real
thank you
I recommend it also
I love it!. The life and the love you deserve is you.
Life is important make sense here .
Just listen living for present . Not over thinking finding the right vibration. Of peace love acceptance not being so judgemental.
As they sat around the table he asked "What should we do today to make life better?"
they talked about it while they ate
them they did what they could with the skills and resources they had at their disposal
I've noticed these insights help me deal with my life. It grounds me which allows me to appreciate what's going on around and within me.
God's Love is what gives Life, that spark is within us all.. learning to Love ignites that spark and becoming pro creation is the ultimate purpose..
You have moved me to tears, which is not whom iam, my family always says iam most happy when I have a purpose, I feel I have been floundering in life for the last year for I have been seeking a new purpose, a new insanity in my life thank you for your words, they so ring true.
I would rather less material gain or wealth and striving ...but rather inner peace and joy as a guide ...🙏💥
BRILLIANT. I wish I could live as he said. Bcos the maya or the psychological structure influence is very strong.
Best explanation I‘ve ever seen on this topic.
Wow. This was beautiful. In its entirety, but especially the last few sentences really hit me.
Thank .. I have lived my entire life without any purpose & I have literally enjoyed it . Blessed Life
Wonderful reasoning. Wish I had heard this years ago.
Gratitude for this, may the power of love, grace, and understanding happen to all asap.
“We are what we think.
ALL that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts,
We create the world.
Buddha
All is ONE! Know this, FEEL this, BE this. The rest is just chatter for the mind (which is also the ONE appearing as chatter of course!)
As soon as I say, “All is ONE,” to myself the smiles and chuckles appear and all is seamless and whole.
3:13 This is the greatest aspect of life, that it has no meaning to it, and there is no need for it to have a meaning.🖤
This was powerful and beautiful.
I love you, human being, reading this right now. 😊
Change the world.
The purpose is to perpetuate in a small way the species forward, just by being alive every day everyone is contributing without knowing it in there own individual way😘
My my dear Sadhguru: the way u explain and unloosen the creeper of life
The purpoae of life is to .... wait for it..... Live and experience. That's it. It really is that simple.
The main purpose of life is to enjoy while you can. To live as long as possible to enjoy what this world has!🙏

Thank you guruji. This really hit home for me.
A little Japa with the Mala some barefoot nature walking. Feeling good being a positive light that's been my jam lately.
"Being" is the primary purpose in life...but the "Doing" is not bad...its necessary to life in our world... but it's secondary to "Being"
I garden... but I dont make it my purpose. I do not attach a title. It is only something I enjoy
Very special, and important, video.
Yes Absolutely correct...we came here to Live...❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Sadghuru- great message, i agree with you , purpose it trap.
These are just snippets as regards everyone's purpose and take delight in the fact that purpose, far beyond "just being" takes monumental effort which includes all this esoteric data and infinitely more.
did you not watch the video?
your reasoning "Once it is understood ... that when one suffers....we all suffer Therefore, everyone has the same purpose. .." does not follow from your premise to your conclusion
because we have no purpose - watch the video and listen to the words - when you declare a purpose for yourself, or anyone else, you put yourself in a self-made trap
the mental processes of pattern recognition together with problem solving are inherent in human life, in all life. It happens without you needing to "improve yourself". It happens subconsciously
you are perfect just the way you are
find the balance in your life between the things that make your life better, and the things that make your life worse, and walk in between
A purpose is an answer, but life is a question.
Well I'm flabbergasted. That was the most sensible speech I have ever heard and it feels right.
Well said! ❤
I believe redemption and kindness are the great purposes. Essentially: aking ourselves and our world better through our interactions and deeds with others and ourselves. I believe we can find meaning from that. However, I am thankful for his message, it is very calming and interesting
There is no such thing.its just 0 .
Brought me to tears and I was not ready for that. Thank you.
When you’re living life right, that’s when you’re able to reflect and become aware of everything you’ve conquered and there your purpose begins. That’s why it’s called life’s purpose not purpose then life. ❤
What's your definition of living life "right"

This man is amazing. SO much wisdom and knowledge. I've read Inner Engineering but need to do it again. Reading his Flowers in the Path. SO good. Atma namaste, Sadhguru.
His purpose is sitting around all day being a shaman, we can't all do that, we don't have the time currently
Great see you and hear you again
There’s people that live for a purpose with a smile on the outside but miserable inside.
Truth is so simple, clean, without noise, peaceful, clear, comes with its own journey/direction, and as strange as it may sound it is wrapped in love.
@@CelineDivine It is your "self=your total being that ia debating with me now. No Self- no existence.
@@itswagon My comment was a question. You seem to be debating your "self" lol.
Amen ❤ If you're seeking truth beyond death, do not expect not to stumble along ignoring this life as if it is unimportant
Beautiful Sadguru.
Purpose of life to live.

This is the best video I’ve seen on TH-cam ever, thanks Sadhguru 😊
@triciakolsby3037 - Then you need to watch some other videos !!
He shares the same philosophy as Alan Watts imo these men speak Life giving words
God has sent Sadhguru to show us the Divine way of living
Yes by informing us we have no purpose, when God clearly states our puorpose is to give him praise and to extend his love to our brothers so they can be experience His liberation and love also and the whole of humanity can be lifted. Sounds like a purpose to me. Sadhguru maybe wise but he is missing this crucial distinction. Yes the ego mind of purpose must be dimantled, bit it should be replaced by this higher spiritual purpose for creation.
As these things work…this is where I have been sitting …..the words were not there but the truth is….thank you…for the words…

We are all learning this but
Life does have a meaning and a purpose.

Life is the serenity prayer.
The meaning is balance among the unbalanced
The purpose is to exist!
