My wife and I have the 2010 RX 2WD. We bought it new in 2010 and take very good care of it, now we have 165k miles on it; it runs and looks like new. Other than tires, filters, fluids, wipers, brakes and floor mats everything is original. I have people offering to buy it from me all the time. I want to keep it until it’s 20 years old, even if I have to put a little money into it, it’s worth it.

Great review! 2010 owner here. Several months back I hit 100k miles, just hit 110k and it hurts me.. comforting to know it still has plenty of life left in her 😊
Wow! And I thought my 2010 RX was in great condition. Because to me it still drives like new, but mine has only 136,000 miles on it! but this one looks like a cream puff! Definitely got to give respect to Lexus with their 2010 RX! I still enjoy taking mine on road trips😎
I had a 2010 RX 450h then traded it for a Highlander Hybrid thinking I'd use the 3rd row and got sick of it and just got another 2010 RX 450h. Gonna keep this one for road trips to not worry about Superchargers. There is nothing much lux about Teslas compared to this Lexus. And with the hybrid, you feel like an electric car on city streets and parking lots. Timeless shape from back, too. Rented a 2022 Highlander (which drove exactly the same as our 2012, not good on sweeping wet highways) to drive to Vegas and it was nothing compared to our sublime 450h, so we agreed to look for our older Lexus. Testdrove samples that had up to 220k and all the engines felt tight and smooth. Amazing.
Our 2010 RX350 had 136,000 on it was a one owner traded to the Lexus dealer very well kept Silver car and the interior was very clean . My only complaint is the ride noise going over expansion joints less than a 1/4" wide other drivers said they noticed that also, now on very good roads ride nice and quiet. I bought the Lexus for the ease getting into the car for my wife mainly for that reason our GMC Yukon is impossible for her to get into due to the height
I just bought a 2013 RX 350 with 82k miles. It’s basically just getting broken in. My 1999 ES 300 has 415k miles. AC is stil ICE COLD 🥶 Toyota/Lexus is in my opinion is the most reliable product on the road! Btw, major improvements to the mouse by 2013! 😎
Wow and I was thinking of getting rid of my 2010 rx350 with 111k miles because some stuff might start going, but now Im more confident in keeping it a few more years and miles.
The rattle is from the steering wheel column. There is a shaft that adjusts the steering wheel that is loose. It costs about 1/3 of the value of that car to fix it. I replaced the column in my 2010 RX.
5:57 if you replace the factory screen with a 10.25" or 12.3" display, that display would be a touchscreen & it would give you Apple CarPlay & Android Auto. And if you get that touchscreen, then you don't have to deal with the Remote Touch controller
I’ve taken my 2013 rx350 off road on some pretty interesting trails, it did amazing on dirt trails with snow, I would confidently drive it off-road if I had to, pro tip is to turn traction control off via the “pedal dance” if you start spinning the tires off road, the car will cut all power to the wheels which can lead to you getting stuck. Edit: it is important to mention I have AWD, I can’t imagine the 2WD would do as good.
We bought a used 2010 RX 450h almost 3 years ago with only 56k and have since put 54k on it and there hasn't been any issues other than a leaky radiator. Other than service maintenance, it's been solid. Plan to drive it until it dies. I know it's the hybrid version so there could be battery issues. Does anyone have long term issues with the RX 450h?
I'm actually planning to buy one in a few days. Same year, same trim. In my research, the battery can last over 200k miles but the ones that prematurely fail are the ones where people don't clean the air vents and surrounding areas that cool the battery down; clogged vents can cause batteryto overheat and fail. I found this out watching a 2010 rx450h battery replacement video on YT. I plan on having a car detailer clean that for me after a purchase the suv. Hope this helps!
@@maurice2014 might be a good idea to change the inverter coolant as well depending on how long ago its been done. Recommended every 100k miles or 10 years I believe.
I’m not sure if anyone else has commented on this: you forgot to talk about the USB ports in the car. Maybe you didn’t know they were there, because they are buried under the second layer of the central storage space and are impossible to see and almost impossible to use. This is my only complaint about my 2010. It has been so dependable. I will definitely buy another 350, but I hope that won’t be happening for a while.
I have this same model and I love my car. The worst thing I hate about this car is where the usb plug is located in the console. Charging cell phones is a pain.
Getting a longer cord maybe will help? Idk I personally like that about these cars because you can keep it away but not have to unplug it when not using it.
I love the joystick and use it very frequently, especially while driving. The vehicle is a good offroader. I have taken it offroad here in Nigeria many times. No issues. It is most reliable.
My 2010 Lexus rx350 has 200k it is so reliable this car is a beast. 195k starter battery. Spark plug.transmission fuild. Water pump. Rear shock. Lift gate lift hood
How much did it sell for?? I have a 2006 RX 400h….runs get…..I have 223000K on mine…it was my moms and she left to me…looked up the KKB…I’m keeping it!!
4:39 that has been a hallmark of every Lexus RX since 1999. I think that ended with this generation though. It proved to be quite successful, so they did the same thing with the first generation Highlander, as well as the 2nd and 3rd generation Sienna (the Sienna lost its column shifter because of this), as well as both generations of the Matrix (and Pontiac Vibe, because their interiors were identical), even with the manual transmissions.
There were a couple of Lexus hybrid crossovers of about this one's age used as NYC taxi cabs. Toyota's hybrids are admittedly as reliable as the sun rising, but the consensus was that yes, Toyotas last.
These cars have a nice look. His comments lead me to believe he would rather have a hideous new civic because of the mean grill and sharp lines, even though it looks like a dumpster fire. The new rx350s try a little too hard around the grill
I just bought a 2015, with 60,000 miles. I specifically wanted one with a basic LCD screen and no mouse. Tech ages badly. I want to update my phone, not my car regularly. I also wanted Grey with Grey interior, so it would age gracefully and not looke dirty warn like lighter colored interiors.
@@gregorykayl5760 I have been used regular Unleaded since 2010 .. no problem at all still run like the first day I have it and I did try Premium and it run the same ..
Toyota/Lexus have been the most reliable cars for decades. If you want a car to last, especially a used car, there's no better option. Sure, the RX is a little boring to drive but they look fantastic and have great luxury options.
My 2010 just turned over 200K and then promptly rewarded me with a failed alternator. No easy job to replace either. I change the oil myself every 7000 miles with full synthetic. Uses almost nothing. Expect to replace the evaporator coil as it corrodes and leaks at the bottom from poor condensate draining. This could be a $3000 to $4000 bill, maybe more. I replaced it myself. What a job. Uggg. Also HVAC damper motors can be a problem, but this is true of any car. Hood dampers will also need replacing and likely the rear. The drivers seat in the car you reviewed would have been reconditioned by a detailer. It would not be in that kind of state after 268K unless it had a cover. I can see in the top right shoulder it's likely true condition. Finally I absolutely hate the seats. Very uncomfortable. I have to use an addition lumbar pad, otherwise my leg goes numb on long drives. The seats in my 2012 F150 are more comfortable. Average fuel economy is about 19, maybe 22.5 on the highway, although you might be able to eek out more with a light foot. Overall it has been a great vehicle.
I take my AWD 2010 RX350 off-road in the north Georgia mtns. It won't do jeep-trails, but with my KO2's on the rims, it will fly on dirt roads. And after 14 years, there isn't a single thrown code in the computer.
I have a 2010 black Pearl 350RX and I have to say when I go to the gas station people walk up to it and ask what it is and go wow great looking car. It is always garaged because the sun will tear up Lexus leather interior. What problems have I had at a 110000 miles absolutely none. I'm going to keep it because I don't like the way the new version drives in comparison.
I have the same year stellar blue color and I’ve had no problems with the leather being in the sun. I store it outside in my driveway but take care of the paint and leather.
My 2010 RX has 153,000 miles. My alternator went last week and the replacement cost $750. Last year I had to replace my control arms, which cost $1100. Other than that, just oil, and tire and fluid maintenance. BUT.... my biggest complaint is the ride! I live in AZ so the roads are pretty smooth and I feel like I'm in a stage coach!!! I feel every single pebble! My sister also has 2010, lives in NY and has the same complaint. Why is no one else complaining about this? It is the reason I want to get rid of this car. The ride is so choppy and unpleasant. My sister gets car sick in hers. Let me know!
I have replaced my entire front end suspension and even some stuff in the rear, brand new high quality tires and I still have that choppy bumpy ride at 157k miles. It’s a great car and I’m sure it will last for many years but the ride is more like a sports car.
It is very reliable. Most of the car is easy to work on, I have done a few minor repairs but can attest it is nothing difficult. Parts can be a touch more expensive for specific to Lexus items, but for the drivetrain these engines are widely used so it can be easy to find cheap replacement parts. My 2010 rx350 has 322k KM and the most difficult fix I’ve had is rebuilding the front driver caliper.
I might be wrong but wasn't it Lexus who pioneered the Luxury Crossover? To that degree I think the design is iconic even if it looks more generic now that most Manufacturers have adopted this style.
They do not use the 3.5L in the Tacoma lol. They use in Camry, sienna and rav4 then they use the engine on the Lexus vehicles es350, rx350, gs350. I worked at Lexus toyota for 14 yrs lol. So not barking at you just stating the facts with proper information but understand you said this was your first Lexus review
Correction: they didn't use *this* 3.5 V6 (2GR-FE) in the Tacoma. That was the 2GR-FKS, and even that wasn't used in the Tacoma until 2016. Tacomas of this era used the 1GR-FE 4.0 V6.
Now that you have done an RX you should do a 90's era Lexus LX 470 (AKA the Lexus Land Cruiser)! That would make for a pretty neat review since I haven't seen too many people talking about them!
I own a 2003 Toyota Highlander with 200k miles and a 2010 Lexus RX350 with 150k miles. I bought them both new. The Highlander is still the better vehicle in every way.
I stopped doing the report cards because I felt like viewers didn’t care since they just watched a 10+ minute video about my thoughts, they didn’t need it written out. What do you think?
I'm interested in knowing if the transmission fluid had ever been changed on this car. Toyota has referred to the WS fluid used in this and similar cars as "lifetime", and made it a royal PITA to change. I have heard of similar Toyota transmissions lasting 200k+ on the original fluid, but they can be hit or miss.
@@damilolaakanni That is definitely true. If you change the trans fluid every 60k and do all other preventative maintenance, there's little reason any Toyota shouldn't last 200k+. I was just curious, because my '11 Camry has 110k miles on the original trans fluid. I wanted to get it changed at the dealer, but they flat out refused.
Well. I have a 2001 Lexus LS 430. I got it with 215,000 miles. It has 230,000 now. Fluid has never been changed. It still shifts very smoothly. If I was the original owner I probably would’ve changed it. But I don’t want to take the risk now. It works just fine.
Cant believe you said the Lexus isn't anything special to look at. The thing looks like something from a sci fi movie. It screams futuristic. To make it any more sporty you would have angles of a corvette. Sometimes people mistake Class and elegance for aggressive sexy. Shallow people wanted Ginger from Gilligan's island~ I always thought Maryann was the perfect package of wholesome, feminine and Class. That's the kind of girl to bang in the bedroom.
Could someone tell me why the wood colors are different - like steering wheel and middle compartment two different colors??
Great vid👍🏽
I take my AWD 2010 RX350 off-road in the north Georgia mtns.
It won't do jeep-trails, but with my KO2's on the rims, it will fly on dirt roads.
And after 14 years, there isn't a single thrown code in the computer.
But my 2007 Rx350 is more comfortable and gets better mileage.
i’m thinking about getting one with 143,000 miles this week wondering if i should purchase it.
did you end up purchasing it?
@@2000LexusRXyes
I picked up a 08 should have looked for a 2010. Cause it has a key instead of push start mode.
Seeing as WW3 has started did you in fact run for the Lexus?
I have a 2010 black Pearl 350RX and I have to say when I go to the gas station people walk up to it and ask what it is and go wow great looking car. It is always garaged because the sun will tear up Lexus leather interior. What problems have I had at a 110000 miles absolutely none. I'm going to keep it because I don't like the way the new version drives in comparison.
I have the same year stellar blue color and I’ve had no problems with the leather being in the sun. I store it outside in my driveway but take care of the paint and leather.
Is the Lexus RX 350 F sport 2013-2015 with the 8 speed transmission reliable too or only the 6 speed?
If your thinking of selling 'im interested in buying . I'm sure you'll have no problem selling but I would be very interested in purchasing . Thanks
Something is wrong. This vehicle glides along, smooth as it gets
I have replaced my entire front end suspension and even some stuff in the rear, brand new high quality tires and I still have that choppy bumpy ride at 157k miles. It’s a great car and I’m sure it will last for many years but the ride is more like a sports car.
There is something wrong. Just about everyone agrees that the ride is smooth as can be.
As for the joystick, that's weird. Because my 2012 GX460 with the exact same software uses a touchscreen. In 2022, it still does.
My 2014 lexus IS250 has the joystick. I love it. My 2006 RX400h has 176,000 miles. Drives like a dream.
How many miles does it get now?
Use oxyclean on seat belts or buy replace them. It has 300,000 like you said
Mine has 218,000 miles. Time for another timing belt. Wonderful car.
There is no timing belt on this engine. It has timing chain.
You sure you own a RX 🤔
@@larkt6693 Mine has the 330 motor in it. 2005 model. Love the car. Daughter had a 2010 it has a timing chain.
@@larkt6693 3rd generation RX350 and yes, it does not have timing belt, it has serpentine belt and timing chain
I just bought a 2010 RX350 with 230,435 KM, should it be trusted for every drive? And easy to fixed car?
It is very reliable. Most of the car is easy to work on, I have done a few minor repairs but can attest it is nothing difficult. Parts can be a touch more expensive for specific to Lexus items, but for the drivetrain these engines are widely used so it can be easy to find cheap replacement parts. My 2010 rx350 has 322k KM and the most difficult fix I’ve had is rebuilding the front driver caliper.
@@gregorykayl5760 super useful Information ✌🏾
268.000 miles is 431.304 km c.a , did he really travel so far ?
I still havent been in or driven a mk3 RX
If you put anything other than a cup in that cup holder, you get a ticket
🤔seriously? Where?
Where dat?
I actually like the shifter.
Audi or BMW will not Outlast a Lexus!
Yes Japanese beats German
Very true 👍
100% facts
The infotainment mind as well be an old school game boy LOL that green and black awful screen we all loved haha
I might be wrong but wasn't it Lexus who pioneered the Luxury Crossover? To that degree I think the design is iconic even if it looks more generic now that most Manufacturers have adopted this style.
No they didn’t
They did come out with the first luxury hybrid, though. RX400h in model year 2006.
They either did, & bmw did a thing
or
They did a thing and bmw did that
Lexus and bmw made suv what it is now
My RX 350 - 2010 just hit 238k and still feels like new... Note: try to use premium gasoline only if you can ...
People that drive a Lexus wouldn’t use your huge green bottle. Go get a truck if your that type.
Those seats have def gotten new leather. Look at the headrests. Those are super aftermarket. Lol
@@damilolaakanni it’s all good bro
Air conditioner tarmostan cont off not pick up again , u we off it back and on it pls l need your help
Now that you have done an RX you should do a 90's era Lexus LX 470 (AKA the Lexus Land Cruiser)! That would make for a pretty neat review since I haven't seen too many people talking about them!
Funny you mention that… I filmed a 1998 today! It’s on my Instagram @shooting_cars!
@@ShootingCars I noticed that, wow, that was quick!
Do anyone knows where is the usb port ?
At 180k now I’m going back to school I plan to keep it until after I get my Masters
Yay! I have always wanted to see you do an older RX
I'd like to see a review of the RX300 or RX330.
@@damilolaakanni same
I have 2011 RX350 and had only 56K miles.
I was waiting for the review to see what the joy stick was for and you didn't say anything😢
Whoa 268k... Mine is at 210k, I thought that was high.
I own a 2003 Toyota Highlander with 200k miles and a 2010 Lexus RX350 with 150k miles. I bought them both new. The Highlander is still the better vehicle in every way.
I don’t see a joy stick in mine , I have a 2o10 too
24,447 a year avg. dear god!
Hey I noticed you do not rate the cars anymore?
I stopped doing the report cards because I felt like viewers didn’t care since they just watched a 10+ minute video about my thoughts, they didn’t need it written out. What do you think?
i feel like mine at 150k just finished breaking in :)
Toyota transmission fluid should be changed every 60,000 miles.
I have never had the transmission fluid changed in my 2010 RX
Well. I have a 2001 Lexus LS 430. I got it with 215,000 miles. It has 230,000 now. Fluid has never been changed. It still shifts very smoothly. If I was the original owner I probably would’ve changed it. But I don’t want to take the risk now. It works just fine.
@@eleanormassaro5195 How much mileage ?
You have to sacrifice one Karen per ten thousand miles.
Says the asian living in a white country. Go home to your jungle.
😂 trời ơi
Actually all windows are auto one touch !!!
I thought 2010 RX yr had a lot of issues
Aight if I ever buy an RX I'll make sure to lift it and put it on 37s 😂
Cant believe you said the Lexus isn't anything special to look at. The thing looks like something from a sci fi movie. It screams futuristic. To make it any more sporty you would have angles of a corvette. Sometimes people mistake Class and elegance for aggressive sexy. Shallow people wanted Ginger from Gilligan's island~ I always thought Maryann was the perfect package of wholesome, feminine and Class. That's the kind of girl to bang in the bedroom. You want something aggressive? Buy a junk Chrysler. You want Sexy Classy dependability for a l;lifetime ~ GET A LEXUS
Lexus is unbeatable ❤
@joannaquanttumphysics ok....?
It’s barely broken in at 268k
really? only premium gas? for this 2010 vehicle in 2023?
Lexus switched to regular gas in 2012. Not sure what changes were made to allow this but my 2014 Rx350 runs great on regular gas. 28mpg hiwy.
@@sptrader6316 thank you! just bought one. a 2011 Lexus RX 350 FWD one owner no accidents reported premium package black leather seats! the works! maintenance records (guess got lucky!) for even the mileage is low considering it's a 2011 runs great! and both the inside and outside! is short of perfect, including the paint job guessing this vehicle was garage kept for people get confused (friends and family) I keep telling them this is the second generation not the third it looks that good. it came with brand new back tires! but the front ones need replacing relatively soon! the ones installed in the back are Michelin all terrain but where I live don't need special tires there is not even snow for the most part what you would recommend? and thank you! for clarification of Gas Use :)

Not only do the front seat belts need a bath but so does the reviewer and his shirt
I'm looking at one with about 170,000+
Did you get it? And how was it? I’m also looking at one but almost 180k mileage
The dark seat belts might be due to flood damage.
Not a fan of that infotainment either. My wife’s CT has it
