Tina, You are so much fun. Projects are cute and you help us through the steps. Stories, like the sewing machine, make us laugh and feel like members of the same club. And your musings about lockdown, with associated worries, are the same for all us, US, UK, Europe etc. Your videos and printables will always be one of my best memories of this period. Long or short -- they're a great diversion from the concerns of the day. My most sincere thanks.
What an excellent expression...I feel gutted! Exactly the feeling when I flip through my journals even the smallest ones and find out that I have loads more to go. You are so right! And yes, please be careful with looking down so much. :) Thank you for how much fun you make all this and how real you are.
Thank you so much Sonia, yes you’re so right, gutted is exactly how it feels when you flip through your journal and there is so much more to do………it does get better, but honestly it still never fails to amaze me just how much it takes to fill a journal 🙃🤭 x
I knew when you said the back of your sewing was a mess that you may not be threading it right. I taught beginners and advanced sewing for years and I always teach my students how to trouble shoot their machines when it messes up… wish I was there with you to help out years ago… 😊😊😊 glad you figured it out. Great time saving project, I need to mass make some of these, they take me forever to make. 💖😊💖
How fantastic Laurette to be able to troubleshoot your own sewing machine, yes I wish I could have attended one of your classes. Yes these are a bit of a time consuming booklet, but nice for a change x
Shabbydabbydoodah I started four little booklets today, I am looking forward to decorating them for some journals I am working on. 😊😊😊 thanks for the great idea!
Sometimes I listen when I have anxiety It help me You make lovely things and you show how things can go in real life 😂 not perfect crafting’s It always turns out beautiful 💜💜💜🥰🥰🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
I so enjoyed this video. You are so funny telling about your sewing machine. I always say I know just enough about sewing to be dangerous. I love your channel and watch regularly. Your ideas are so creative. Thanks so much for sharing your ideas. 😁
Tina, don't feel bad. I used to teach sewing classes and you'd be shocked at how common that is, to thread the machine incorrectly. Now that you've got it figured out, you'll be a sewing Rockstar! 😉
Great video Tina. Cant believe how fast you cranked these out. I barely got one done by the time the video ended, without decorating! I did two more afterwards. Your sewing story was very cute. Sounds exactly like something I would do. I didn't do well in home economics in middle school, that was the last time I touched a sewing machine. Love the look of the journals sewn though. Thanks for recommending watching Carol's channel, will check it out.
I gave up sewing machine because I had same issue. This was 40 years ago. No instructions and even if there was I didn't read them anyway. I am wanting to get a machine now to do my crafting.so thanks for the info, will use it and pay more attention.like your little project.I took a break from watching crafting videos and am back watching a select few people on Utube. Yes you are on that list. Enjoy watching you. I was previously under Cliff Fogler but now under my own name.glad to be back. Hugs, Shirley Harrington
Oh welcome back to you Shirley, and I am thrilled to be on your list 🤗 . Hope all is well with you. Honestly I can’t believe I had been threading wrongly for all that time. If you can pick up a sewing machine,it really is worth a revisit, I am loving mine now x
Hi Tina: When you got to the part about wrapping the thread around the bobbin thread guide, I lost it. But, I’m laughing with you. I always had the most uneven threaded bobbins for the same amount of time - 20 years! Then, I got my Brother machine and had a wow moment. There’s a little notch in the bobbin that snaps into the little metal piece. Perfect stitches and perfectly wound bobbins. Yay! BTW, working on a journal with your beautiful yellow collage papers and this little booklet is perfect. Thanks for the idea. 💜😎
Lol, Joanne I am so pleased that I am not the only one who spent such a long time threading my machine wrong! I just thought it was amazing it managed to sew at all! X
I had to stop eating my lunch because I was laughing so long. I was not laughing at you, I was laughing because it reminded me of my first sewing machine. It was a cheapo from Sears and it NEVER worked right! Now, from the age of 12 I had been sewing so I was familiar with the working of my mom’s machine. So when I got my Sears machine I figured I knew how to thread the machine so I proceeded to thread it the same way I threaded my mom’s machine. Well, my husband and I decided it must have been a dud machine and gave it away and bought another upgraded machine. This time I read the directions and discovered that there had been nothing wrong with the first machine I had just been threading it ALL WRONG. 🤣😂🤣. Don’t feel too bad about it...we can’t be the only ones to have done this. BTW, I loved your pockets. I bet you’ll start enjoying sewing now. Thanks Tina.
Oh thank you so much Kathryn, great to know I am not the only one! What a shame that you gave the first machine away, still at least you were then able to enjoy the next one.........yep threading it correctly has been a game changer for me! So much more enjoyable without the constant jams, Lol x
Oh Tina you are a hoot! Love it with the sewing machine. Thinking about it my machine often plays up with the gloopy stiches so i shall have to check it out! Love the booklets.
Hi Tina, I am new to your channel. I love how you just take your time putting your projects together. I have never made a journal, yet alone using envelopes! This is definitely going on my list of things to make.
Thank you for the kind and thoughtful videos..I listen every day and appreciate the effort you put into coming up with thoughtful content for all of us!!
Thank you so much talking about Carol and her TH-cam channel. I bought a Journal from her and received it yesterday (11 May 2020). I did not now about her channel. Thank you so much for sharing your projects. Blessings x Mariana UK xx
Good morning Tina! Love these envelope booklets. Thank you so much for sharing what you do! Always enjoy my time with you. Hope you have a wonderful day 🌹❤️
I absolutely love watching you craft, your work is always so beautiful. Thanks for the sewing machine tip. I have several machines and one of them does the same as yours did. Lol. So I will be looking at that soon. Thanks Tina for all your lovely ephemera classes ,well all your videos🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰😷
Absolutely love these. Such a good idea. And yes I am just starting out with the JJs. So doing mass will really help with that overwhelming feeling of. What next. Thanks
Hi Tina, Loving your envelope booklets, what a great way to use up those envelopes and I'm so going to make some, perfect to pop in the post for some happy mail! Hope you and yours are keeping well! Take Care, Kylie X PS: I did have a chuckle at your sewing machine story, too funny lol! X
Great video! Made some booklets today along with you on my second viewing! I too have dizziness from longer hours crouched over the craft table! Your sewing share was sweet! It made me go pull out my booklet and check a few things haha! Thanks again!
Ohhhh what a relief to hear your bobbin story.....have done that also....ugh! Just when I thought I was the only one who did things backward......I need to be shown, written instructions a no.....Husband noticed .....showed me what I was doing wrong.....😔🥱😂😂😂❤️
While you were talking about the sewing machine and why it wasn't sewing right I new you wasn't threading it right. I am a tailor and I know how to fix my machine to. You made me laugh so much. I love your work and have already made some of these booklets.
Oh my you have me crying laughing! To be so honest is wonderful. I truly needed this laughter . .. 20 years 😂😂. I have been sewing for 50 years and understand.. easy to do. So thanks for sharing.
Little booklets are great! Good idea. I have 7, count them 7 sewing machines in this house and none work - well 2 I can't fine, one miniature and my Mum's old 40's black Singer which probably does work if we could locate it - when we do it's going back in it's original case. Fighting the little Necchi my Dsd bought (we never did figure out why when Mom hand a really nice Kenmore) trying to make masks for everyone was such a treat. Life is strange.
Love these! I'll definitely do a day of mass-making these later in the week - my reward for doing stuff that needs to be done first! When I'm mass making, I use a bit of masking tape on my paper cutter so cutting those book pages to size would not be so finicky.
Oh Tina, I'm howling, knowing that I have done the exact same thing! I have 6 or 7 sewing machines, in various states of working, or ready to sell for parts! I have done it! I love the envelope booklets. They are adorable and I will be dying some envelopes and paper soon, so these would be the natural next step. I do love the mass making idea and the ideas that you have shared. Some I have made as you did, others I customize to suit the needs I have. Thank you Tina. I adore your personality and the way you share these great ideas with us.
You made me giggle 🤭. I did a similar thing with my machine when I changed the needle...after taking it apart, cleaning it and a little rough language, I finally figured it out. You are a warrior for persevering 20 years. You go girl! Love your all your videos. Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️
Chuckling about the sewing machine, once in a while I put my bobbin in the bobbin case backwards and the makes a mess on the back of the sewn paper or fabric. Soooo glad you had the light bulb moment. Don’t be too hard on yourself. 🙃
Love these cute little booklets, I have to admit I had a good giggle over the sewing maching story, I think your sewing will be more enjoyable now and less frustrating. Thanks for sharing Hugs and Smiles
Thank you, Tina. These are great little booklets! Such a funny story about your sewing machine 🤣 I would have guessed you just needed to change your needle. Love your videos.
Had to laugh, I have made mistakes with my sewing machine too. Great video on making little envelope booklets. I love these as they are perfect for inserting into the journals.
That's good that you have all that coffee dyed papers. I don't iron clothes or paper. My husband said we have to buy a printer which I wish he would have told me before he cleaned out the computer because I could have printed as much as I wanted to use up all the ink. I started color copying a few things so far. Really nice mass makes❤
I love these booklets. I have to search for my envelopes and make some. Your sewing machine story just shows you have patience. I would of thrown the machine away or found someone to take a look at it. I am not as patient Take care of yourself. If you get vertigo again, I suffer from it often, lay on the hard floor with your head straight, the floor may spin but it passes faster.
Lovely lttle booklets .... the vertigo i can relate with mine is caused by sinus issues, my aunt gets it to but hers is caused by neck problems... i think its called spondilitis. My first little sewing machine i used for about a year threading it all wrong and it just used to gather all the thread and make a rigt mess ! glad you sorted that problem out lol tfs
Oh the vertigo is just horrible isn’t it? I do get sinus issues, but I do also suffer from bad neck aches, which I have at the moment, so that is useful to know. Glad I’m not the only one who was threading my sewing machine wrong! X
I like these little booklets. I’m about to make a bee journal and will have a few of these little booklets inside it. I will cut them into hexagons to go with the theme. Thank you for the inspiration. And I,too, have had some visual confusion after days of crafting at my table and then going out. I think the eye muscles haven’t been exercised for looking in farther distances. So the advice is to take breaks and look off into the distance or the imagined distance. I will explain to my family what I’m doing in case it looks like I’m bonkers.😜. ✌️🇨🇦🙏❤️👍🐝
Oh my gosh what a great point you make about not looking at long distance at the moment, I am definitely going to try this, maybe every 20 minutes or so, thank you x
I was sick a few years ago. I suffered from constant dizziness for over a year. To make a long story short, a terrible illness struck me and then I felt like I was on a merry go round going as fast as it could go and I couldn’t get off. I was like this for nearly 4 months if you can imagine the horror. The epely maneuver didn’t help me but it might help you. So I know how awful it is to feel dizzy. Thank you for your time helping us to make crafts and many beautiful things. Ginger is good to help with dizziness. Also you may have allergies. Bonine is over the counter here, it’s good to help but it makes me sleepy.
You need an artists easel or a slanted board, you can’t stop all bending, and this video is a year old so you have sorted it by now( I’m watching all the videos I missed or have forgotten about) I’m having a great time xx💜💜
love these, thank you..... next time you have loads of ironing to do, most ironing boards drop down quite low, drop your board lower and sit down while ironing, i have to do mine like this all the time because I get the same feeling as you from having my head forward and thios stops it happening, hope it helps x
Thank you so much, I used that last year, and had completely forgotten about it, I am suffering again with vertigo at the moment, I will definitely try it again x
I love these, Tina! So cute. I will definitely make a bunch of these! -Don’t feel bad about the threading mistake-it seems every time I change threads on my machine, I do some little thing wrong and it tangles! I always have to rethread, Lol.
I can’t use a sewing machine, I have no idea how to use one, bobbins total failure, and I can never figure out the threading ha ha so you have nothing to worry about. Anyway these envelopes are a great idea. Thanks xx😁❤️
Thank you so much. Yes I couldn't believe how long I had owned a sewing machine, and it turned out I had been threading it completely wrong for all that time!!!! Lol. Glue is a great alternative x
Oh my goodness Tina... I can't believe some else has had the same problem with their sewing machine! I avoid sewing things that will be seen on both sides. Maybe I will have to take a look at the little diagram. 🤔🙂
Hi Tina - re your sewing machine threading... and to keep things in some perspective... we are peeling bananas from the wrong end. We peel from the big end, but a monkey of course peels from the smaller end which of course is easier. Happy sewing. You might also want to have a look at the tension “screw” on the actual bobbin because that’s a great trick to know if you are sewing something very thick. BUT WATCH FIRST. Have fun. OH bought my first doilies today, finally found them, the big square ones and 2 sizes on round. On table now swimming in coffee. Jackie
Great fun project today! Is it possible that the vertigo is actually from the WiFi or other waves, which are powering the laptop? Just wondering if you sell your products on Etsy for another side income? Question: Do you ever flatten out your project pages with a heavy stack of books?
Have you tried the Epley maneuver for your vertigo. My physical therapist told me about it and it worked for me. You can Google it and find how to do it. Perhaps it will help.
You melted coffee in water and hot boiling water then you mix rubbing alcohol in with it and you spread it all out on a plastic tablecloth and you start spraying it and if I am a fan out it and it dries really quick and it doesn't make a big mess like everybody else does it and then when it's soaked in somewhat you flip it all over and you spray it again and you let it dry and then when it's dry enough to handle it you pick it all up and you said it somewhere to finish drying it's simple as can be and you do the same thing with Kool-Aid that way your head in the game you don't have to wait hours for it to dry
Love these!! I’ve got my oldest granddaughter til school starts in August..my youngest has gone back to “Little School” (day care!). Now I have time to create!! Thank you!!❤️
I suffer from vertigo. It happens more when I'm not allowing myself enough rest time and not drinking enough water. Hope you feel better, it's terrible 😔
Thank you so much for your suggestion, I should maybe take little walk around every so often to break up the looking down. It’s pretty horrible isn’t it? Lots of empathy for you x
My husband has vertigo sometimes and the doctor told him it’s an inner ear issue. He takes motion sickness medicine you can buy at a drug store. This may help you. It is a terrible feeling . 💐
Oh thank you for the tip about the motion sickness medicine, I might try that as I am still experiencing it, slightly less thankfully but still there. It’s a horrible feeling x

Oh thank you so much. Stay safe and well x
Hahahaha! I'm so pleased to hear that I'm not the only one who can't work out this sewing machine lark! Another great tutorial Tina. Fantastic!
I hope you work it out quicker than me x
What an excellent expression...I feel gutted! Exactly the feeling when I flip through my journals even the smallest ones and find out that I have loads more to go. You are so right! Fantastic! These look great. definitely doing these🤗. Still laughing about the sewing machine🤣.
I love these Tina! Will be mass making this afternoon! I had a chuckle about your sewing machine discovery. I have done the same thing! Hugs!
Thank you, Tina. These are great little booklets! Such a funny story about your sewing machine 🤣 I would have guessed you just needed to change your needle. Love your videos.

I agree with you the journal and it's very elements take so much time, I'd rather watch them being made rather than make one myself.
I spent a few dollars on a laminator. If you put your paper through it it will iron it out! Someone taught me that trick but I don't know who!
What a fantastic idea, tfs x
Thank you Teresa, I didn’t know that about ginger, I must try some, maybe a little in my tea. Glad you are well now, a year......that’s awful x
Oh thank you so much, great idea, I will try this next time x
36:36 oh my God i did the same, and I never figured out why my sewing was such garbage, I felt very silly after I figured it out 🙈
Lol, thank goodness I am not the only one! Haha x
Lol, thank goodness I am not the only one! Haha x
@@shabbydabbydoodah for 7 years, SEVEN YEARS 🙈🙈🙈 God i felt so silly when I finally looked at the directions 😅
and wow how my sewing improved
You did list her and I subscribed. Cudos to you
Oh that’s great Sherry, her first set of videos and project was great, and I think she has more since, but I haven’t had a chance to watch yet x
Try the epiley manoeuvre if you get vertigo, it really helps
😂😂😂dying about your sons shave!! I have three boys...the oldest is 20. They do love their hair...OR maybe not. 😂
Lol, yes I so know what you mean x
Oh my goodness Tina... I can't believe some else has had the same problem with their sewing machine! I avoid sewing things that will be seen on both sides. Maybe I will have to take a look at the little diagram. 🤔🙂
Lol, yes take a look, I had been threading it wrong for literally years! Hope this works for you, you will be so chuffed 🙃 x
Jackie
Lol, thank you, lovely perspective. So glad that you have some doilies now, you will love them x
Great fun project today! Is it possible that the vertigo is actually from the WiFi or other waves, which are powering the laptop? Just wondering if you sell your products on Etsy for another side income? Question: Do you ever flatten out your project pages with a heavy stack of books?
I know exactly what you mean when I would crochet too much I would get that horrible feeling in my neck with light headed feeling it's awful
Have you tried the Epley maneuver for your vertigo. My physical therapist told me about it and it worked for me. You can Google it and find how to do it. Perhaps it will help.
Oh thank you, I have never heard of that, but I will check it out x

What is the brand of glue that you use?
I use a mix of Anita’s Tacky glue for the papers, Beecon 3in1 for fabric and bosch hot glue sticks for my glue gun x
