I totally agree with you on this point. Whilst I've taken good advice from around the internet on many aspects of finger picking, I'd not heard the definition of seeing a triangle between the fingers and thumb. Excellent advice and shown from the correct perspective to understand too. Bravo.

    Inspired me
I was informed yesterday that I'll probably check out between 2 ~ 6 months thanks to kidney cancer
After watching the complete video 📹 I just set a goal for myself to be able to correctly play this at speed on video for my family in 3 different sets
    6 string guitar
    12 string guitar
    11 string lute
    Amazing lesson 👏 thanks

Thanks so much. I’ve been working on Travis Picking for about a year now. This really is a simple, but effective song to do Travis Picking. I had tremors in both hands, but I had a new procedure called focused ultrasound which seared a specific point in the brain and now my left hand is tremor free and I can deal with the right hand so I’m able to play again. This song is great therapy.

I'm now 79 (Imperial, not Metric) years old and still going strong with a dozen or so harmonicas ("Blues harps"), 16 tinwhisles, 3 native American flutes, one Peruvian "Quena", 5 guitars, 2 violins (which magically become "Fiddles" when I play them barefooted), and two keyboards. There's probably more instruments - but at 79, who cannot forgive me for a receding memory?
Oh, I just subbed - the publisher gave me no choice whatsoever.

I stopped playing 15 years ago when I could no longer see the sheet music from a distance. You've inspired me to re-learn the guitar and give it another try. My fingers are screaming already since the callouses are long gone but it will be good for me in the long run.

One of my first songs I picked to learn (teaching myself)and I always thought I was doing it wrong! Now I know I was doing it right so I’m going back to it again.

That was wonderful! I just started trying to learn the guitar about three weeks ago (I’m 63). The finger pattern you demonstrated seems easy to me but I’m thinking it’s because I took banjo lessons for a year when I was 20 so holding my hand the way you showed must have been imprinted on my 20 year old brain and is still stuck in there somewhere (in my now, old brain). - I love the way you filmed this so one can see exactly what you’re doing.
I wish you would do more videos. Hint, hint…the Ah Ha song, “Take on me”.

    Wow, thanks for this upload!
As a beginner on acoustic from many years of playing rock/metal on electric, I am finding it so very rewarding on actually learning the basic 12 chords and all I can do with them now as opposed to just bar and power chords.
I have begun a tendency to just use my fingers on acoustic guitar because it just feels and sounds more natural to me. Plus it seems easier, and this lesson is a foundation for me to elevate my finger style of playing on guitar. I really just have to clan up the changes and picking, but because I learned all the chords by name, it makes it a little more feasible for me to learn and understand acoustic guitar and the potential in music it offers.
    Thank you!
