heldenhaftig Yes I’m sure they have people who helped tend their farm. But it does not take away from the skills and creativity of producing and maintaining garden worthy of praise and joy. The person who mucks the stable Is as essential as the person who built the stable, is as essential as the person who designed the stable. One person could be all three. Same with the garden. I would not less admire this garden If they had a gardener who tended to it. But What is the most compelling emotionally, is to see the music of the colors in the sway Of the forms and how they collectively work together to create such a gorgeous landscape. The Hydrangeas may change colors depending on your soil chemistry. You could end up with multi colored blooms. We had one that came up with blue, pink and purple blooms.
Not sure if he said two rows of 8 or two rows of 6, but.... Matt explained he was calculating as far as 16 stall-sized spaces. And he said several were going to be for feed room; tack room (2); grooming/wash stall; maybe a storage area for muck tub and other equipment; blanket and show stuff storage...; so that already leaves only 9 or 10 for stalls. It is amazing how much space horses' "stuff" takes up. Lol, and I have seen their videos organizing their tack and horse supplies and they have a lot!!! My barn is 4 stalls (one used for hay and shavings storage for now since I only have 2 horses), 2-stall-size area for tack and feed, and 1 area for grooming/wash area. And you never know, they might get a working student at some point...

Wow, looking amazing! I would love to afford a place like this one day! Matt could I make a couple suggestions for your paddocks? A couple Willow trees would be awesome in the paddocks, they give great shelter and the leaves are really beneficial for grazing. The other is I suggest you plant a hedge of Rosemary (maybe along the fence line of the paddocks by the lawn?) as Rosemary is great for deterring flies!

Chickens can help control the flies that accompany horses and cattle. Mother Nature can be called on for Fly control by sprinkling the chicken feed on and around the cow patties and such. Flies lay their eggs in the patties and the chickens feast on the fly larvae. This system works great with a movable chicken coop.

I was super overjoyed to hear this great news. Means committing and devoting care for a home, family and community. Roots. Huge amount of work. Wonderful update, thank you.
Love the property & your landscaping changes so far ( this one being 2 yrs in the past). At my viewing of this today, this is over 2 yrs old, but as they got talking about the chickens "flying the coop," ( an expression in the US), I wonder if Matt knows he can clip the outer row of wing feathers back a bit so they can't get airborne. Do look it up though to see at what point you must not cut beyond. As far as saving the fruit trees, #1 - since the roots were pruned significantly by digging them out, if you want them to survive, they must be pruned back. Same as with transplanting shrubs & perennials. #2 - it helps to keep transplanted trees or shrubs well watered based upon their native needs, for up to 2 yrs, though ongoing care is a must for fruit trees, roses, & other woody plants, which are well worth the trouble. To reduce the stress of having lobbed off so much of the root system, it's important to prune the branches back significantly as well, to restore a balance a bit by reducing the demand for water to be delivered to the remaining branches, & leaves. Beyond pruning & feeding & watering, I'd let the fruit trees rest for the first couple years by removing the flowers after you've enjoyed them, to restrict fruit development. Let the tree or shrub get re-established a bit first. Pruning in general, of fruit trees, roses & many other shrubs, begins with the removal of any dead branches, back to live wood if possible, or desirable for a desired structure, & at a good, outfacing bud where a branch can grow outwards & unobstructed. For fruit trees & roses, cut back to a main stem, any branches which are growing inwards. By keeping the center as open as possible, more fruit gets the right amount of rain, with improved air circulation - reducing some types of fungus, mold, decay, & especially to allow more direct sunshine in, to help form the best fruit possible. You may want to keep the crown tip-pruned at first to keep it smallish until you're sure the root system has recovered & has established itself again. By pruning the outer tips at the right time of year for the type of tree, or shrub, you can encourage fresh new growth where you want it to grow, which gives you more options to prune to the shape you want, & so the fruit grows where it can be easily reached. That said, most fruit trees have naturally beautiful growth habits, but be on the lookout for branches which cross each other, in the interior. When rubbing together, from the wind, branches will scrape open the bark & expose inner layers, which can become a source of disease. #3 - Feed the trees, shrubs, plantings & lawn with late winter/ early spring, then before July - some more but a lighter application of a layer of a few inches of aged, composted, vegetative matter plus horse & chicken manure, plus all the animal bedding from the stalls & coops. If aged, put at least 2" on top of the soil around the fruit trees & roses, & shrubs, & a lesser amount on the lawn, at the same same times of the year. Pull the top dressing away from the tree trunks, to prevent rot & discourage mice. If you don't have enough of this top dressing, buy what you need to to balance with the manure.you have to mix , or you could dry it in the sun & store it, or give it to community gardeners if you don't need it. This way you won't need to buy any chemical fertilizers for your plantings. A strong & diverse soil biome also strengthens the root systems so they can better defend themselves from inevitable challenges. Also, when roots run deeper & more feeder roots are produces, as the soil becomes more moisture retentive, so you may be able to back off on the watering, depending on the depth of the amended soil, which will get deeper over the years if you continue to top dress everything that likes a high fertility. Between soil beetles, worms, rain & hand watering, nutrients will move deeper, creating exceptional soil. You'll have plenty of manure, so to get started, you can buy truckloads of compostable materials, plus add in all your veggie scraps, bread & pasta, (but no meats, or dairy), fall leaves, wood chips, etc, ideally to maintain a balance of equal parts of carbon, & green material. Add in the daily coffee grounds, tea bags, with strings & tags too, egg shells, (but not the white & yolk). The dogs can use that. Mix these materials with a larger amount of native soil, or purchased soil, plus horse and/or chicken manure in equal amounts with green elements, if possible, & mix together & then heap it all onto a pile, or a few piles, which must be turned & watered frequently. If a pile is dense enough, it will heat up to about 140 to maybe 160 degrees - hot enough to kill weed seeds & most pathogens. No wooden structure or gimmicks are required, but many like to do this, & keep the compost out of the rain. Each to his or her own. Just aim at making as much soil mixed with aged compost & manure as possible so you can top dress all of your fruit trees, shrubs, veggie garden, & new garden & lawn, 2 or 3 times a year. That might be like the volume of a pick-up truck bed X at least 3, three times per year. You could try putting dried, pulverized, aged manure & walk along your lawn areas with a mixture of lawn seeds & aged, dried manure, with a hand crank see broadcaster. Your place already looks well taken care of, but you commented on the lawn. A regular distribution of manure & living compost would have your horses grazing in deeper, tastier, more health providing grass, within weeks, & with the soil getting deeper, it will hold onto the rain & sprinkler water much better, & won't be as damaged by being compacted by horses & any heavy equipment used.

Jalientjee13 Sry but why do you even wanna know if they’re gay or not? i understand that you wonder if they’re in a relationship, but if they’re gay, what difference would that make?
@@szamashups2476 i totally get your question. what difference would it make?... to "us"...no difference at all. not when it comes to the respect, the interest in what theyre doing. They are absolutely lovely. So no, no difference. At all. BUT...(and PLEASE, dont get me wrong, im not talking about "obligations" or some bullshit!)...but visibility always makes some sort of difference. Not only in the lgbtqia+ community. But always and in any case. The more people who decide to be visibile are in fact a huge help to make sure that there actually is gonna be a time when young people, boys, girls and every gender on the spectrum, dont need to feel ashamed for the only fact that they are capable of love. Of the fact that "love" is not only between men and women, boys and girls. Or of the fact that they identify themselves as some part of the "in between" or "on the spectrum". Nobody, and i mean that, nobody is obligated to come out. "Coming out" is the most intimate thing people could think of. It shows "who you are" to the core. BUT, of course this decision needs to be made by every single person for themselves. If, and im saying IF for a reason, they happen to be gay, bi, queer or are in any way related to the lgbtqia+ community (which we dont know and they deserve that we believe whatever theyre saying or/and especially not saying), they would be an awesome ally. But even that, its up to them to decide if they want to be exactly that.
Ok, idea, make the new stables in that dead lawn area, and the lawn directly across, is a natural blissfull tack up area, open to the riding area and you could make a matching narrow building on back of area to hold tack, good area for guest to enjoy there process and if you ever do guest housing with horse privilege then it will be sweet. The dead lawn will always be that because moss grows natural there and without tons of chemicals and twice a year thatching you will sink money in it that could have been used on property. Sorry this is long, felt I needed to say this. Congrats and your horses are lovely. Be blessed

The Hydrangeas may change colors depending on your soil chemistry. You could end up with multi colored blooms. We had one that came up with blue, pink and purple blooms.
I agree, it is freaking stunning!!!!!
Jesse’s “SiXTeEn??” To the amount of stables Matt was thinking about building😂😂
O
Two very successful young men! Buying that property by the age of 25 says very responsible with definite goals! Congratulations! 🤗
P S.: Expect a hen house to be dirty the day after cleaning - that's the nature of poultry! They will destroy any "decorations" you try to put up.
Question: How did Steve end up dialectically so Australian, while Matt is so European? No criticism - it's just so noticeable!
Because Matt and Steve are originally from Australia but Matt moved to the Netherlands so he kind of has a blended accent.
I think Matt moved to Netherlands before Steve idk
Holly_HorseBackRider yes he did.
Good comment. Matt also travels internationally as a model. It could affect his dialect.
@@holly.eq78 I don't think Steve ever moved there, did he? I was under the impression that he got stuck there during covid when the flights were cancelled. They never said that but he had been visiting and then covid happened so it's my assumption. Could be wrong.
It's so nice to see your dreams come true and you can grow with your house. With all that nice space you ought to make a stable where they can access the pasture from their stall ❤️️
You are so right.

-People walk in to the house- Where’s Jesse? Matt: ohh don’t worry he’s just sitting in the fountain....💀😂😂😂

New stables for the two stallions so you can have them home
yesss :)
2 PRE full stallions and 1 mare on the same property could be asking for trouble - or ar least a lot if noise! Especially as Andorra is an older, and very strongwilled, mare! If Jesse's videos are truly indicative, he's the only person she freely obeys, and Annie would be the dominant mare in any herd.
Lar In Vermont Were they are currently homed are also mares
They are well trained horses and I'm sure they will make separate them far enough from each other .

The chickens are just so pretty. Love them. Your home and gardens are like a paradise. Beautiful!!!
Congratulations to the two of you and good luck in your new home. Already looks amazing. Well done both of you
Love the property & your landscaping changes so far ( this one being 2 yrs in the past).

Be blessed
