In December 1977, my then-girlfriend introduced me to the world of the songs of this immense singer without equal. She and I got married in October 1980, and since then we have been together, having the fortune of have seen Engelbert sing live in two occasions. What a personality of singer! @@rickypyper7662 Thank you Ricky!! We are still together and, now, enjoying life with our 2 children and three grandchildren. I wish you the best, too!

This song brings back bitter sweet memories 1997. My family attended a ball and this song came up. My father and i got up on the dance floor to this tune. It was the last waltz with him, he past away 3 months later. ...Miss you dad..

Freedom in my childhood growing up in the '70s. Rode my bike all over the place, staying out until the street lights flickered on, and the sun had dipped below the horizon. Eight track tapes, record players, knowing all your neighbors, block parties, playing with all the neighborhood kids in their yards and in the streets. Sucking on popsicles, climbing trees, and playing Ghost in the Graveyard. Beautiful memories.
I grew up listening to Englebert in the 70's because my mother loved him. It's nice to revisit his music as a "middle-aged" adult now. What a beautiful voice.Thank you, Englebert.🤗❤️

In 1975 i came home from school and mom was playing this record i dropped my bag and ran over i fell love with the voice the music the man 😂i was 13.and this music never gets old or sounds old 🤗
I hear this songs when i was 16teen I bekamen a recordplayer from my aunt and a recorder from Engelbert Now 40 years later its always the best ever ❤❤❤❤
Been listening to Engelbert since 1968. When this young generation today hear his songs they ask me why nobody sings like that today. They say it’s the best singing they’ve ever heard!
А меня сын познакомил с этим певцом. Я в юности увлекалась Смоки. Но этот певец настолько душевно поёт, что затмевает других. К сожалению не знала о нём в своё время.
I'm 68 but this 70s compilation has made me feel like a 20 year old again! I can't help but bop around to the beat! So many of these songs take me back to particular places and the people I was with at that time. Better than any blood pressure pills or statins!
He really did this song beautifully ! You know how other well known singers can sing other artists songs ? NOBODY can sing this and come remotely close to making it sound as beautiful as this. N O B O D Y ! Just saying.
Grew up with this music and Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck to name a few . I was 6 yrs old really captivated by the afore mentioned. The world was a wonderful place when I was young.
my papa used to sing this song every sunday when i was akid . last waltz and a man without love was one of his favorite. 4 years ago he died, and everytime that i hear this song, i always remember him. and because of my papa i used to sing his songs too. specially last waltz..♥️♥️♥️
This song is sad. When I listened to it in the late 60s when I was only about 5 years old in Singapore, it gave me a feeling of a wide expanse of space. It is like waltzing in life figuratively. That time we had a Fitzpatrick supermarket in Singapore and the interior building structure of the building consisted of three diamon-shaped motiffs that is part of the building on one side of the wall. When I heard this song, I literally ran to and fro to the motif in ecstasy. So this song although sad, show us life is like a waltz. You can expand out to get out the feeling of sadness.
How does it feel to grow old sir ? Looking back realising so much time has passed ? I am 21 right now and i dont know if I'll make it up to 22. I am suicidal. Have tried twice. Didn't succeed ofc. Dont even want to but cant help it
@Atif Shake Thanks for going out of your way to ask about it bhai , but tbh , i dont know anymore , been feeling it since 3 years now. Cant take it anymore. Only thing stopping me from killing myself is that my Mother's face flashes in front of my eyes everytime i try to do something
@@anubhavagarwal117 hey man, I'm right there with you. Sometimes I just wonder if this life is worth living, and I've thought about suicide many times. But what always brings me back is thinking about what I want in life and the people I love. It's not worth giving them a reason to be sad, and it's not worth ending your own life. I'm not here to preach or tell you how to live, but suicide is never the answer my friend. It's a permanent 'solution', to a temporary problem. It may take time, and it may be a long time, but you'll eventually see the value in living again. I always try and remember this whenever I feel depressed or sad, and it helps me. I hope it can help you too man. There's value in the short amount of time we have in this life, just gotta find it :)
One of my fathers favorite song. Thanks for posting this video. Brought back good memories as a child, I must say it was an era where people could clearly understand song lyrics
This was played at the end of my Nans Funeral on July 20th this year. I never knew of Engelbert Humperdinck being born in 95 myself... It was actually going to visit my Nan in her care home. We would always put on the 60's Music Channel and Humperdinck was on with one of his songs. My Mum said to Nan wasn't he handsome and Nan as if she remembered said yes. When planning the funeral we felt this song was perfect for walking out, as it would be my nan and grandads last waltz together. Now I find myself listening to Humperdinck so much, along with Jim Reeves etc. Such a beautiful song
.. and what a beautiful human being he is too - inside out. Heard him live in concert in Dubai in the clearly 90s. Knocked most of us off our fee! Unforgettable voice and still hoping strong. ❤
I was born in ‘62. This song is one of my earliest memories of Engelbert. Who’d have thought that I’d be at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall October 2021 & The London Palladium April 2022 seeing The legend himself! If only I’d aged half as well Sir Engelbert. Utterly fabulous! ❤️
@@friedrichmoos2378 same here.62 as well and this is one of my earliest memories as a young child singing this in the playground at school in Gloucester.

Wow, when I listened to this for the first time, I immediately teared up within seconds into the song. This song is so hauntingly magical and beautiful beyond any word I can come up with while still crying my eyes out 😭 I absolutely love this tragic song, makes me feel super emotional the most
Another great song by the legend, Engelbert ! Everyone, young and old and in between, should listen to all the unforgettable songs from this fantastic artist !
Divine! Amazing and emotional! Top class! Sung by an icon! Engelbert was gifted by God with that kind of voice! OMG, it makes me cry!! Nobody comes close to him singing it! One of the best singers together with Tom Jonse! Bravo!!!

Please release me.
Agree...I was born in 1962 - and remember this song 🎵 from the late 60's. Sounds just like it did from the days, I am happy to say...I STILL REMEMBER 😁
First time U listened to this song by Engelbert Humperdinck was in 1963 when I passed the most difficult bar exams in the history of Philippine Bar Examination - when the questions were designed intentionally to flunk the candidates. Engelbert's voice has a peculiar fling that uplifts the spirit. I love his music ever since.
I was so young when I hear this song because of my late grandma. Every sunday morning this song is on repeat. Every karaoke she sing this song I'm so sad that I didnt get to sing this to her. I didnt know a have a talent to sing. I love her very much also you sir Engelbert Humperdinck I love you and all of your song. I am 22 years old and still listen to your songs and I admire you
My father always played this song on his record player but i never got the chance to ask him what the name of the song or artist... It took me decade to find out the name of the song through a local radio one day... Listening to the rythem once again brought back so much memories.
My husband and I went to Engelbert Humperdinck's Concert in Perth, West Australia on the 25th May. We loved it so much, it is amazing he still sounds so good at 88. I am so glad that he has had such a long life unlike sadly, so many other singers. The Last Waltz is my favourite Engelbert Song it is just so very beautiful, I loved it so much when he sang it at his concert and all the audience joined in singing this beautiful song. When I came home I listened to it on the internet and I was so mesmerised by it, it is such a perfect song and Engelbert sings it just so beautifully. I always knew he is very goodlooking, but gosh, how handsome is he.❤❤❤
This song I remember in 1968 that I first hear , It was like a invitation to a other wold. It sounded like a dream song, and it was. My dream came true. Thank you 🦅
This coming November 4th, 2022 I will have the opportunity to take my wife to see Engelbert performing live again! She is really happy to see her favorite singer up close, maybe for the last time.
I hope you, my lovely friends are all keeping well and looking after yourselves. Lots of love and best wishes to our handsome/dashing Engelbert. ❤️🇬🇧❤️🌹
Engelbert, you are truly Mr Romance. The Last Waltz was a fantastic song 🎵👏 This could have made into a beautiful movie. Thank you for the flash back, it made my day.God bless!!
I hope my mom is dancing to this up in heaven 🙏🏻 She loved Englebert so much she had every album and saw him multiple times in concert I took her to her last show in Canada I’m so glad I did it was shortly after that she fell ill 🥹
My late grandmother who was a big fan introduced me to your songs when I was a little boy vacationing at their home in the late 90's. This was by far the one I loved the most and strikes the deepest nostalgia for both simpler times on those lazy summer afternoons and of my gran who passed just Oct of last year. Thanks for the memories!
this was a song my great grandma always listened to, she passed away a month ago and it was played at her funeral. I’ll never forget her everytime i hear this song and i hope she’s reading this. We miss you so much ❤️❤️
My father always sings this song in the karaoke, honestly I kinda hate it but now Im grown up and lost him I want to listen to him singing this forever. Miss you Pa.
Can't wait to see you on Monday in Manchester, I have a last waltz tattoo in memory of my late parents, my Dad taught me the waltz to your song so it's extra special to me.
My late parents' favourite and always played as the closing dance at any function they attended. Consequently, one of my favourites too. I much preferred Engelbert's easier power than Tom Jones' seemingly strained tones. And Eng was a much more sultry beefcake!🤭
I wasn't born when this came out but Im aware enough to know songs back then were SO much more lovely, heart felt, sad yet so charming at the same time. Endless beauty in this wonderful piece of art 😪❤🙏
I lost my mum, a year ago, all my life i heard Englebert, elvis, dean martin, and tom jones...she loved them all....not a day gose by that these songs dont hit me like a knife in the heart.....my childhood memories..but a lifetime of music that lives with me forever.
My mom and dad and sisters listened to this music and i was a child it brings memories of them back. ❤ mr engelbert he can sing and entertain like no other❤ all his music
A couple of months ago I first listened your version of “Can't take my eyes off you" and since that moment, you became my favorite singer of all time. You are just too good to be real. Never die 🥺.
I was lucky enough to see Engelbert Humperdink in concert two nights ago. He's still sounding pretty good at 88 years of age. He's moving a lot slower though. I thoroughly enjoyed watching his performance. I grew up with his music and became a professional singer myself. I was one of his biggest fans back in my younger days.
Happy Flashback Friday! 🎶❤️🎶

Happy memories of 50 happy years with my late husband this was the first song we danced to at my highschool Debutants Ball at the age of sixteen and he was my chaperone we married 5 years later and spent 45 year's of marriage Blessed by God's Grace this song will live in my memories for the rest of my life ❤
Makes me cry this song. My Mum n Dads wedding song. They’re no longer here but brings back so many memories
Yes it makes me cry too wonderful song❤
Our wedding song. 17 March 1979. Still together in October 2024… waltzing
Who would've thought that songs like these from decades ago can still break your heart.
Still have vivid memories of my grandparents waltzing to this song from Engelbert, beautiful memories, beautiful song, thank you Engelbert.
Me too bro I realized Soo important but we need to accept what give us 😭😭😭😭
some people have the audacity to compare Tom Jones to this man. Impossible. Engelbert is in a world of his own.
The Last Waltz should last FOREVER! ❤
"The Last Waltz" should last FOREVER!
The last waltz WILL last for ever.
Undoubtedly

I was 13 then too............small world.
I hear this songs when i was 16teen
I bekamen a recordplayer from my aunt and a recorder from Engelbert
Now 40 years later its always the best ever ❤❤❤❤
Been listening to Engelbert since 1968. When this young generation today hear his songs they ask me why nobody sings like that today. They say it’s the best singing they’ve ever heard!
Yeah,this song is the greatest
It is. Sadly, I feel that taste has decreased over the years, which has made a demand for these other types of music, which are nothing like this.
Love your comment.
It's so true.
Music that touches one's heart.
Living legends last forever. 💕
I work with a young man who is 27 years young. He has Engelbert on his Playlist at work! Isn't that Fantastic?! 😁
64 this June same
Hanging on to 68. After the song I will take my blood pressure pill. Beautiful memories of another time and space.
You go back during the song and you don't want it to end !!
He really did this song beautifully ! You know how other well known singers can sing other artists songs ? NOBODY can sing this and come remotely close to making it sound as beautiful as this. N O B O D Y ! Just saying.
You said it
Grew up with this music and Tom Jones and Englebert Humperdinck to name a few . I was 6 yrs old really captivated by the afore mentioned. The world was a wonderful place when I was young.
Memory unlocked! 🙂 My mother loved him. She always had his records spinning on the stereo when I was little.
my papa used to sing this song every sunday when i was akid . last waltz and a man without love was one of his favorite.
Respect
How does it feel to grow old sir ? Looking back realising so much time has passed ? I am 21 right now and i dont know if I'll make it up to 22. I am suicidal. Have tried twice. Didn't succeed ofc. Dont even want to but cant help it
@Atif Shake Thanks for going out of your way to ask about it bhai , but tbh , i dont know anymore , been feeling it since 3 years now. Cant take it anymore. Only thing stopping me from killing myself is that my Mother's face flashes in front of my eyes everytime i try to do something
Meaning you're 70 years old now?
I first heard Englebert in a bar in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, back in 1967. Dang, I said to myself, what a voice.
Dito👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@friedrichmoos2378 same here.62 as well and this is one of my earliest memories as a young child singing this in the playground at school in Gloucester.
You were very fortunate (a memory that will last forever ) INDEED😊😎😀😁😂
I found this song a few months ago and suddenly remembered all my childhood. The surprise has been knowing that it was released 18 August 1967, a month after I was born. The other surprise that I just got is, that I listened to it a lot after my father's death, remembering him. The coincidence that my father was born on August 18.
The golden era of Endelbert hampedick ,Matt Monroe and Frank Senatra
What is sad is that in the 60's and 70's we listened to anything and everything from hard rock to this and soul without a thought of what they were.
So true.
Wow, when I listened to this for the first time, I immediately teared up within seconds into the song. This song is so hauntingly magical and beautiful beyond any word I can come up with while still crying my eyes out 😭
I absolutely love this tragic song, makes me feel super emotional the most
Me too

Divine! Amazing and emotional! Top class! Sung by an icon! Engelbert was gifted by God with that kind of voice! OMG, it makes me cry!! Nobody comes close to him singing it! One of the best singers together with Tom Jonse! Bravo!!!
My mother and father danced to this tune.
She passed in 2013 and 2017
I played it at both their funerals
They don't sing 'em like this anymore!! Took me back to a wonderful time. Great song beautifully sung❤Thanks Humpsfir the memory❤❤
What a legend! What a voice!
I agree.
HE IS A "LIVING
LEGEND." A PERSON OF GREATNESS DOES NOT BECOME A LEGEND UNTIL THEY ARE DECEASED.
Dear Engelbert...with this Song I grew Up...now I am 63 years old but your Songs are with me......Blessings and greetings from Daggy Kiel Germany ☘️☘️☘️
❤❤ This was the last sound played in dancing parties in70’s. It was sweet memory for my teenage hood. ❤❤
My auntie's funeral today, Englebert the Last waltze was her favourite, sadly I couldn't be there xx
We just laid my nan to rest on Friday the 24th of May 2024 , this was her exit song 😭❤️❤️
How beautiful!! That is so wonderful!!!!
So sad to hear that
Great time to end on 😢
Que descanse en paz

Najmocniej przepraszam a cóż życzyłbyś sobie?
В далёком 1988 году, когда мне было 8 лет, я первый раз услышал эту композицию на пластинке. До сих пор время от времени переслушиваю. Скоро 43 годика мне будет. ))) Есть и другие великолепные вещи Энгельберта. Например Please release me.
Тоже в70 с родителями❤😢😊
Please release me was my favourite, back in the day!( Teenager at the end of the sixties!)
Beste zanger 😊 2:40
My dad loved Engelbert as well! I feel a connection to my dad, who has passed away, whenever I listen to Engelbert! Marvelous voice!
thx Mr.Engelbert,
for bring the beautiful songs for our generations to come
Beautiful, timeless. I can listen to this song on repeat permanently.

First heard this song was I was five years old, 53 years later, and it still sounds the same. Absolutely love this.

This song I remember in 1968 that I first hear ,
It was like a invitation to a other wold.
It sounded like a dream song, and it was.
My dream came true.
Thank you 🦅
Wow 🤭 thank you so much 🥰🙏❤️
Am I the only Gen Z in here? Idk but I find Engelbert's songs so calming.
NOPE!! You're not alone!
My friend, good music doesn't have an age. It's timeless.
Seriously, A gen Z listening to older song is rare and we're one of them.
Not alone
You are not alone
The echo sound of Engelbert's singing voice makes the last waltz such a unique and brilliant song.
This coming November 4th, 2022 I will have the opportunity to take my wife to see Engelbert performing live again! She is really happy to see her favorite singer up close, maybe for the last time.
❤❤
Me a 77 yrs.old, Cebu Philippines, after giving thanks to our great CREATOR, while listining this old songs makes.me feel peace, & comfort.❤❤❤
I'm just emotional dancing slowly for my backache, but still inspired me to remember those days ...
Legend, as good as a singer, entertainer & person that you will ever meet
Happy, sad, tired when I listen to him, he makes my day
I hope you, my lovely friends are all keeping well and looking after yourselves. Lots of love and best wishes to our handsome/dashing Engelbert. ❤️🇬🇧❤️🌹
Engelbert, you are truly Mr Romance. The Last Waltz was a fantastic song 🎵👏
This could have made into a beautiful movie.

Magnificent voice. Flawless delivery. Great lyrics and beautiful arrangement.

2023 , introducing this song to 🧉🥥🍍, 🥳🥲😘😘😘. The last waltz that...last forever 🥰🥰🥰
