As a german person this scares me SO BAD. We‘ve been learning about this for nearly five years now in school. About the murders, and the way it was beyond cruelty, and how organized it was, and how it swept up hundreds and thousands of people who thought they were RIGHT. And seeing how people actually, truly think it‘s… I don‘t even know, a GOOD THING??? It‘s beyond me and I hope all of these people get their brain back real soon.

As a Jew, I wasn't expecting Kwite of all people to leave me feeling touched. I've met lots of Holocaust survivors in my life, and seeing all this Holocaust denial while knowing that we are rapidly approaching a point in which there will be nobody alive who witnessed the Holocaust left is frightening. Your support means a lot.
The stupid thing about much Holocaust denial is that it ususally comes from someone who has no connection to the events whatsoever and has never educated themselves on the subject.
I mean ok, where i live denying the holocaust is illegal, but everyone knows what happened either from family or school. ....and then someone like kanye, who never even looked at the evidence comes along spouting nonsense, its absolutly infuriating.

Hearing someone admit that Bipolar doesn't make you a hateful person is comforting. I've been Bipolar my entire life, and not once have I ever thought like Kanye, and it gets annoying seeing the hate towards Bipolar people he has generated in the process of his nazism.
He's got millions of dollars to get meds and treatment, and he chooses not to. It reminds me of my brother tbh. Bipolar and refuses to get treatment, so he thrashes around and throws massive violent tantrums when he's mad that can be very terrifying. He's 32 and holds a job, but acts like a 5yo the minute he's angry because he won't seek help. Kanye reminds me of my brother currently tbh. Hateful and cruel underneath the surface but the lack of treatment causes it to be heightened and worsened almost 10 fold
As someone who’s bipolar type II, I completely agree.
Growing up I had people mocking me and generally alienating me because I’m bipolar, but I keep myself in check. When I have a manic episode I’ll get irritable, but I don’t lash out at others and I actively take medications and utilize my therapist. Meanwhile my dad (who I last saw when I was 16 and he was 48, I’m currently 22 almost 23) would throw literal tantrums, be physically violent, and would drive recklessly, because he refused to do anything about his mental health. It created a stigma in my family about bipolar people, and it spilled out to family friends because they knew him longer than they knew me, so they were terrified that I’d be like him.
It’s comforting watching a creator I enjoy not bash bipolar people/talk negatively about them and also have capability to know the difference between someone who’s bipolar, and someone who’s a scumbag.

Even as a non-jewish person, I have come to realize in my life especially, with my experiences in the LGBT, that voicing where you stand on something like that genuinely does help, regardless of how obvious, expected, or over-said it's said to be. Having the without-a-doubt-ness, whether by a friend or somebody that's influential online, is very helpful, and I think that applies doubly so with a situation like this, so thank you.

As a jew, and a third generation holocaust survivor, it's horrible to see people who have such a high position in society say things that some kids will definitely listen to. I substituted for a middle school science class the other day and somehow our conversations went from genetics to race purity to half of the class giving reasons as to why "Kanye never did anything wrong" and I've lost all hope for humanity

Jewish isn't a race, and antisemitism usually functions really differently from racism, so the point would have been lost on that level of generalization. It's why so many anti-racist people end up being antisemitic. Also, I think that antisemitism deserves it's own conversation, just like anti-black hate, anti-asian hate, etc. Intersectionality is important, but not to the point that all hates are lumped together and treated the same, because they're all different.

I'm not Jewish, but I have friends who are. And even if I didn't, I would still believe the trend towards antisemitism, towards defending nazism, towards simultaneously denying and defending outright genocides, was a massive danger. And it is a massive danger currently, particularly towards Jewish people and especially towards Jewish people who are part of other minorities--trans Jewish people, gay Jewish people, Jewish POC, disabled Jewish people. I'm a disabled, transgender gay man, and the Jewish people who have been part of these communities alongside me have always been important, and their voices have always been necessary, and they have shown me perspectives that I would otherwise have never even thought of, and they are all the more valuable for it.
We need to do more than just punch nazis. While that's good, it's not the only thing we need to do. We need to put just as much effort into loving and protecting the Jewish people around us, in our communities and in our lives, as we do into hating nazis. Otherwise, our activism and efforts are empty, and nothing will really, *truly* change for the better. You can fight fires all you want, but you're always going to be stuck fighting fires unless you do something to stop the fires from happening in the first place.
The fact that he managed to make Alex Jones look sane by comparison is a feat no one has or ever will accomplish again.

It will be significantly hard from this point on, but the best thing we can do is continue to ostracize them and push them from public spaces. Even ironically, nobody should be defending this shit, because others will see that it's regarded with legitimacy and become emboldened to openly praise the same beliefs. While harder than ever, the only thing we have the legal power to do is prevent them from having a seat in civil discussion. When you Tolerate the Intolerant, they will not suddenly tolerate you.

You have a responsibility to seek treatment, but once you think of sick you as “the real me” there’s no coming back.
I'd say the point of no return is refusing your medication and blaming it on the Jews because they don't want Kanye inspiring 'free thinking'.
Before I was treated for bipolar when I was 10, I was punching walls and wanted to kill my family during my manic episodes. Getting treatment is very important and it's all on you if you have access to it and refuse to take it. I'm just grateful that my family put me on medication. I don't want to know what I would have been like as a teenager untreated

That’s true, though he also has dangerous beliefs that shouldn’t be excused by mental illness. Having bipolar doesn’t make you racist. He could have those extremist beliefs challenged over time by friends and family if he was doing better, but since he is refusing treatment and has for a while, while pushing everyone in his life away, that’s never gonna happen now. This is also an issue of extremism being normalized through the internet-as far as I can tell, 15-20 years ago he definitely wouldn’t be saying this shit, but it seems that he was radicalized in the past 15ish years with the help of alt right pipelines.
All that to say that this is an awful situation, and my heart goes out to Jewish people whose lives are being endangered by alt right/neo Nazi fascism. It’s despicable how fascist ideology is still around, and even *increasing* today.

I've never been a Kanye fan, per say, so I haven't been in the loop about anything until it started spreading throughout every fandom/media. At first, when he "started" going off the edge, I was wondering if he was going into psychosis or a psychotic break or whatnot, which I still think that might be happening. But as Kwite said, and as someone with bipolar disorder who's always in the danger zone of a psychosis or a psychotic break, that really isn't an excuse and whoever it is that may still use that to excuse his behavior needs to check themselves. Of course it's a big contributing factor and if that's the case I hope that he'll receive the help he needs (I'm talking as if he has bipolar disorder now, whether that be true or not,) but it's not like you can go "oh but he's bipolar so he doesn't know what he's doing!!" I promise, even if you're bipolar, you're not stupid, though it may feel like it sometimes. I sincerely hope that his mind is just in shambles and that, with the right help, he can start to see what kinda bullshit he's been spewing. If not, well, I still hope that he can get help and see what kinda bullshit he's been spewing. So really, he just needs help in general.
