As much as I DISPISE Twitter, I'm kind of worried seeing it die because that means all the Twitter troglodytes will just migrate to a new websites and ruin them.

It's just crappy people of all kinds in every community, every political belief, every nationality. It's best to keep them separated like they are in real life. Them gathering together is the problem, being small manageable groups on ever site is better then wanting any toxic social media because there's always none toxic people on those socials having to deal with it or abandon ship. The best thing about the Twitter spiral and the potential rebirth of Tumblr is the denizens of Tumblr doing their level best to prevent the latter.
Some of them are massively increasing the circulation of inside jokes, some are reverting to pre-Dashcon levels of cringe, some are trying to revive the 2014-era fandoms, and some are just being flat-out unhinged. It's like the social media equivalent of firing off shots to keep the rent down, it's great.

Actually, this is going to greatly benefit freelance artists. Because freelance artists on Twitter have been constant subjects of Twitter hate campaigns due to "problematic" art (petty level shit) to where artists delete their accounts from the troglodytes. So if those people doing Twitter hate campaigns migrate back to Tumblr, artists will have it much easier

I watched a Tiktok of a former Twitter worker who was fired in the most obscene way possible. They sent him an email with a meme saying that he was being fired(yes, a fu*king meme), only to be begged back to work WITH ANOTHER MEME. It's great to see it fall apart and being set on fire cause I can't imagine getting fired via email with a meme attached.

YIKES, hearing that people might be mass migrating to tumblr makes me very grateful that I got bored of my tumblr a few months ago and just kind of abandoned it. Honestly, the one social media app that actually brings me happiness these days is instagram. I know a lot of people hate insta, but I am pretty sure that's because they are following the wrong sorts of accounts on there. Unfollow all those celebrities and influencers and models, and instead follow meme accounts, visual artists, people who share your niche interests/hobbies, and IRL friends who you actually care about. When you get rid of all the superficial bullshit, instagram can be a lot of fun.
Artist insta is THE WORST though, that's majorly why it's mostly hated, the insta algo HATES artists.

twitter is the only place i can actually browse through art. i follow like 1k people and all of them are art accounts, im not a fan of other social media sites like instagram or deviantart cuz it just doesnt feel the same idk, so im a bit sad that a lot of artists are either only posting in lists(?) or migrating to other sites

honestly tumblr belonging to wordpress, which is pretty much now known as a few hobbyists' blog site, is fitting for tumblr.

i love how on tumblr 1. the checkmark is a one-time purchase 2. you get two of them and 3. there is literally no limit to how many you can purchase. i think 8 is the max i've seen on one blog but there will definitely be more soon

It’s the same stance in regards for prices when you want to sell a house or ground. If you want 10k but know you can’t get that flat out then you list it for 15-20k.
When the haggle time hits you’re already in a much better position to either sell your stuff for the price it’s actually worth or more than you hoped for.
Yep! Fun fact this is sometimes known as the "Door in the Face" policy of haggling, as opposed to "Foot in the Door" where you start low and slowly jack up the price over time (think all those streaming sites that had really low costs at first and slowly raised them)

I'd also like to point out that all the people who bought Twitter verification are literally only IOS users. You can't buy it on the website or on Android.
The main thing that sucks is that if twitter disappears all the wonderful artists and animators will be alot more limited with options, Twitter is alot better than instagram when it comes to uploading your art and animations.

Yeah, NGL. I left Twitter the moment the buy was finalized.. granted I was teetering on the edge for a good while as it is so toxic, but musky Musk finalized it for me. Life is much less stressful now.
the twitter experience is so wildly different just based on how you cultivate it. like i followed 1 person who was practically active all hours of the day who would complain about all sorts of drama, and then i cut twitter. holy shit life got so much easier not thinking about what that person's blowing up about i'd say the same for reddit too.
i visit those websites now and then for art and content i enjoy and maybe it's because i'm no longer "ingrained" into the media but it feels like a lot of the userbase is following suit.
