For 'phantom tails', you totally can have weak phantom limb syndrome for limbs you've never had. I had (and still do have) a fascination for feathered wings in secondary school. When I was in primary school I would get bored enough to just practice flexing individual muscles all the time, so I ended up developing a really strong ability to do that over time. So when I was stressed or bored in secondary, I'd flex some back muscles and pretend I was stretching some wings, and it was soothing. Weird I know, but harmless.
Well it turns out doing that enough times can make you actually start feeling wings that aren't there. This wigged me out a bit so I did a bunch of research. Turns out I'm not the only one. Some see it as a spiritual thing, some as a furry thing, others are completely detached from both and wonder why they feel these sensations.
Anyway, it doesn't interfere with my life at all, and 98% of the time I have no phantom sensations, I just still trigger it on purpose from time to time when I'm bored or stressed.
I get that with bunny ears. it feels nice
