It’s so amazing to me when I see the timing explosions on an engine with no exhaust manifold. It just shows how perfect and harmonious humans can be with their design capabilities. True artisan craftsmanship and engineering.

I had a 1968 Camaro with 450 HP 350ci in it with a Cowl Induction hood with the opening in the rear. I was replacing the windshield and decided to drive it with out the windshield in place and getting on it and the sound of the engine right there was AWSOME!!! I drove it around that way for a couple of weeks, as long as you kept the windows rolled up the high pressure in the interior would not let in the air at speed, but don't roll down the windows or it's like sticking your head out the window.. I was disappointed when I put the new window in...

Not really old tech , it has modern if not better tech than an GM LS/T motor , it's got over head cam, 4 valves per cylinder , twin electronic ignition , 2 plugs per cylinder , roller bearings. Etc

An acquaintance of mine has one in the garage under a living complex. We fired up a late night some years ago. Car alarms and a lot of very angry people showed up. Now that's what a Rolls Royce does! It brings people together!

I think you find if you care to check it out, that the Vast Majority,if not all Meteor Tank engines were manufactured by Rover.
And a Packard Merlin would be built to better tolerances.
