It is to your advantage that I go!To be at an advantage is to have conditions or circumstances that put you in a favorable or superior position. Having spent 3 years with Jesus the news of His departure must have saddened the disciples.
How could His departure be advantageous for them?
But this is what they did not know; that the One who was promised to them would not only be with them but in them.
He would be with each one of them wherever they were and they would have access to Him anytime.
The promised One is the Holy Spirit; He is our advantage.
Having the Holy Spirit in our lives gives us an upper hand for He guides us in all truth. He reveals the thoughts and the mind of God.
