Episode 164: I will boast only in the Lord!

I will boast only in the Lord!
To boast is to talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about something like one’s achievements or abilities.
In 1 Corinthians Paul wrote to the believers because quarrels had broken out among them. Some claimed to follow Paul, others Apollos, others Peter while others Christ so Paul wrote to remind them Who it was all about.
1 Corinthians 1:26-31 says “Brothers and Sisters think of what you were when u were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were influential or of noble birth. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, He chose the weak things to shame the strong, He chose the lowly things and the despised things and the things that are not to nullify the things that are so that no one may boast before Him. It is Because of God that you are in Christ Jesus who has become our wisdom from God- that is our Righteousness, Holiness and Redemption. Therefore, as it is written; let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”
Paul did not boast in his eloquence of wisdom because if he had this would empty the Cross of its power.
Our only boasting should be in the fact that we are in Christ and that we owe our being entirely to Him.
We boast in the fact that God chose to save us through His Son Jesus.
He chose to clothe us with His Righteousness and Holiness and to draw us to Himself.
It is all God’s doing so we have no right to boast before Him except to boast in the Lord.
“SO I WILL BOAST ONLY IN THIS; THAT GOD CHOSE ME, THAT HE REDEEMED ME, THAT HE LOVES ME AND THAT I AM HIS.”
