Each Costco will do their own open box sale. In my state it varied from store to store. The one closest to me was the best for getting the open box for electronics. But the one a few cities over was good for other items. Lawn and garden for example
I've seen it in a store for a combined 2 hours. Probably the best value for money when you want a new high end tv. So much cheaper than the S95C, the G3 and the A95L. And the picture is still so good.
Just had the 55” model installed on the wall today. WOW. My wife who never seems to be impressed couldn’t believe the picture. We watched Tomorrowland a few days ago and then tonight. She said it was like being there. Pretty good endorsement.

@@DoubleTheB We put a plug behind the mount and wired it power above our fireplace. We also ran an HDMI cable from the TV through the plug to a female HDMI port on the wall. This allows my Grandson to plug in his Switch dock without anyone seeing any cords.
@@rss1761 yeah I bought the s90c few days ago and went for that haha , not gonna fool around with one connect and wall installations or have cords hanging on the wall ... One connect might be a good solution for someone who wants to just watch stuff but I want a performing tv to game on aswell etc. and I see it as another potential problem I do not want to deal with , cheers !

When it comes to fine tuning, I recently used the SmartThings Smart Calibration tool on my QN90B with my Galaxy S10e. Holy crap what a difference! Colours are balanced, whites look white, and blacks have separation. Skin tones look realistic, and no more yellowish tinge on cheek and forehead highlights. SDR is defaulted to 150 nits, but I found it a bit dim still, so I bumped it to 200 nits. It's perfect... I can still see details in dim scenes. It also does HDR now. It looks absolutely fantastic! I wish I did this a year ago.
For the 77" you should definitely get the s89c, as it's an incredible value. I hated mine for a solid month. It's not great out of the box and I really struggled getting picture settings that I liked. But eventually, it clicked, and I love it now. There are specific situations where the motion isn't the best, but overall, it's a great tv for the price. Most people complaining about consistent lousy upscaling and motion probably don't even own the tv.
If you buy this TV, make sure to TURN OFF PICTURE OPTIMIZATION. It shifts the whole screen unreasonably blue and gives you just two picture modes "Eye comfort" and "optimized" both are very blue. This setting is not under picture but under General & Privacy -> intelligent Mode Settings. You can't change it on Tizen you have to switch inputs. Then go to Picture and change to Warm 2, full brightness and contrast, and do minimum sharpness... Click apply to all inputs.... And do this for every picture setting.... This will also change Tizen.... I almost returned this thing until I figured this out.

I was looking at the s90c and the LG C3. I read about problems with the S90C having problems the screen not being straight. So I checked out the S90C in John Lewis (UK) and yes, it had a distinct kink 3 quarters along the screen! So I've chosen the C3. The quality issues that samsung seem to have along with their poor history of firmware updates was too much of a negative, especially as little to chose between them
@@swissbliss24 logical get the c3. Why would you want a oled that’s bent and has motion issues which also Samsung nerfs their TVs months after release to make their next look better. Read up on s90c it’s not as great as you think
I wish you would have talked more about motion processing. I own the S90C and it's a phenomenal TV in virtually every way but it has far worse motion processing than my friends old LG CX. Basically for those sensitive to motion the combination of OLED's instant response and this TV's mediocre processing can make some shows and movies unbearable to watch, even with the optional motion interpolation. I had hoped I could get used to it but this problem is basically forcing me to get an LG C3 as the G3 is simply out of my budget.
@@peterfredriksson834 Thanks but I already own an Apple TV 4K 3rd gen and this does not resolve the issue. I have tried with both match frame rate on and off as well as all different changes to motion interpolation. For some 24fps content the TV is fine but especially content with constant motion (like shows filmed with handheld cameras) it's nearly unwatchable with the constant stuttering even with de-judder raised as high as one can go without introducing SOE. Motion is a very personal setting so it's not going to be the same for everyone. My partner cannot tell the difference between his CX and my S90C when it comes to motion however it's very clear to me that with some content there is no setting that makes motion okay for me on my S90C whereas on his TV I can generally always find something that makes me happy with the very same content.

Same for me. I dont like Samsung but I know this TV Is just better than C3, so I was thinking about getting it but that processing just Killer it for me. Also I get that Samsung panel is better but the colors just look a little bit too much saturated for my liking.

Don’t even think twice. I just bought this for gaming on my pS5. I am coming from a Hisense u7k which was great. This has completely changed my gaming experience. If you play GOW Ragnarok with this you will be blown away. It did so amazing. I am broke but so happy with this purchase.
After dropping $200 overnight, the 65" is available in Canada for $1999.99. Even the 65S92C, with the improved sound, is at that price. It appears to be an all-time low. The LG C3 took a similar $200 CAD reduction dropping from $2400 to $2200 CAD.
Having owned the previous years S95B and we’re impressed I have the S90C on the way due to a 2 year old managing to break the panel and the insurance matched this one like for like

I don’t understand something. Everyone says the S90C is a QDOLED. Everyone, that is, except Samsung. And their website is not shy about shoving the QD aspect of the S95C in everyone’s faces. So what’s the deal with the S90C?

I went to John Lewis store and preferred all the LG OLED's to Samsung. Glad I went. I nearly purchased a TV blind based on reviews.
I noticed you don’t mention 5:5 pulldown, my 90C have a major issue with it. Between panning shots it would micro freeze the image. Especially in EU regions where cable TV is 50Hz!!! There is no way to do inverse pulldown 3:2! Cause you cannot bring back 50 fps from 60fps! This caused major problem for me!😢 The issue is negated only by enabling de judder to 2-4 clicks or disabling picture clarity completely or running AppleTV or Google TV in a Game Mode (for USA you would just ran ATV or GTV in match frame rate off in any mode as it would do reverse pull down correctly). I settled to run more de judder for sports 4 clicks and for shows 2 clicks as I don’t notice soap opera effect. But for other people who are more sensitive to this effect this would be a major issue. Hopefully with next review this would be also mentioned from here on forward ❤ It would be lovely if ratings actually could communicate this issue to Samsung about last year models, so they could actually address it 🙏
You say hesitant but if you knew what DV actually does compared to regular HDR, then you would know it makes pretty much ZERO difference on high end TV's over regular HDR
I have to report on quality issues with my 77" s90c. The screen didn't turn on but the sound was playing after 3 months of use. It took Samsung 5 weeks to repair and it seems they replaced the LCD panel. After that I looked up on the internet and seems this issue is pretty widespread.
Can I cast TH-cam, Prime Video, Netflix... with the Cast Icon from my Android Smartphone to the S90C? I wasn't sure about that due to the fact that it hasn't Chromecast built-in. I'm currently using an old LCD TV with a Chromecast Dongle and like the Cast functionallity very much. 😊

I really don’t like Samsung OS and worried about the black screen issues. Also I hear blacks are more dark gray than black vs WOLED. Would you say the G3 is a better buy or save the 1300$ or so and just get a S90C? I would love to know what you recommend Abby, as I’m looking to buy in the next couple weeks. @@stennan the panel lottery is not confirmed for s90D. Get a S89C and I can guarantee QD OLED 2nd gen. Great TV at great price. The Tizen OS is great and smooth. If you don’t like it get an Apple TV box to go with. All your problems solved and you saved some massive coin for the best TV out now.
Can you explain why you want or really even need Dolby Vision on an OLED? The fact is people don't even know what they need to get what they want. Literally the only difference Dolby Vision makes is per scene adjustments that a good TV simply doesn't need, regular HDR looks just as good on a good TV because it can handle displaying any image properly with a wide min/max set for the whole title, it's simply not important at all. I have a Samsung without DV and another high end TV with it and I don't notice a difference between DV and regular HDR on the Samsung mini LED and since OLED is even better it just doesn't matter.
@@DanielBrownOreYup, DV is completely irrelevant. Most people want it because streaming uses it, but streaming image quality is garbage regardless. The only time it actually matters is for 4K blu-rays, which is super niche. And even then, nobody can tell the difference. HDR is a gimmick for the most part anyway.
Been reading and people have been saying atmos is not supported without a soundbar. But when I watch movies that say they have atmos on Netflix or iTunes through my Apple TV without a soundbar, it shows on the tv that the audio is atmos. Clarification would be awesome, thanks
I got disappointed by LG, you spend 1-3k eur on 65 inch oled and it lasts between 3-5 yrs. Have a 2 yrs warranty and mine went into problems in 3rd year already with white line in middle of the screen. Many people reported same known issue, well rip money. This is why I’m exploring samsung as alternative. Does not have same issues.
This is my first time buying a nice TV. I play video games on the most recent Xbox and watch sports. Is the s90c good for both? I hate watching TVs and there is a lag behind the ball and want to make sure that’s not an issue before purchasing. Thank you!
I got my 77 s90c a few weeks back, I don’t know if I got lucky with the panel but the windows HDR calibration tool sets me to about 1590 nits until I can see the pattern disappear, also, on the ps5 calibration tool I have to go up 19 clicks until the sun disappears, aren’t those measurements above average for this tv model?
Hi Abby. You mentioned in your review the automatic brightness limiter. Does the limiter kick on only in certain situations? How does the algorithm work?
The Automatic Brightness Limiter significantly dims bright highlights when they take up a large portion of the screen. So scenes with a lot of bright areas, like a bright sunny day at the beach or sports like hockey, are significantly dimmer on this TV than they are on a non-OLED panel!

Going to pull the trigger on the 65" tomorrow. Buying direct from Samsung with military discount I can get it for 1,439 with a 2 year Samsung care plus for free. At that price point it just seems like a no Brainer even with the couple small negatives. The other tvs I was considering were c3 at 1600 and a75l at 1500. Coming from like a 4 year old vizio m series nothing special qled I'm hoping this will be as big of an upgrade as I think it will be lol. Side note: the s90c I looked at on display in best buy had insane burn in. You could clearly see Amazon prime logo and the word Cinderella 😂😂.

I bought a Samsung S89C and wow am I having lots of stutter issue. Especially while watching hockey, feels like people jolt every so often, is that normal?
This TV's low-quality content smoothing is only alright (we rated it a 6.8.) It can't smooth out macro blocking very well, so it's very noticeable in dark scenes but fine details are still preserved very well!
The only problem I see with this TV is that the coating it has it's terrible for durability, if you pass your finger through it you take it out, that simple. It shouldn't be that way and you should be allowed to even clean it without taking out the coating. Luckily I still didn't clean it but those small finger prints still stay.
So frustrating that Samsung still has not sorted out the dropout issues on the s95c. Just got a warranty replacement for mine and still dealing with the same issue boo.
Grabbed my first ever OLED last week because of this review. It's certainly a very hefty purchase, but coming from my trusty Philips PUG6654 (Which is a wonderful TV for a LED one) it should be quite a revelation.

Motion Interpolation doesn't work that well, if you want the tv primarily to watch movies get something else. But for games it's perfect@@ahmet_10

yeah LG does this so well in comparison to Samsung unfortunately for Samsung owners
Use a appletv and use match framerate with my s90c. Works great and to dont find any diffrent from my lg c2.

The lack of one connect box is actually a plus for me. Lots of people complain about HDMI audio and video dropouts on S95 models.
I modded my s89c to s95c. Best tv I have ever had. Way better than my LG oled tv. This will be my tv for atleast 5 years!

I don’t understand something. Everyone says the S90C is a QDOLED. Everyone, that is, except Samsung. And their website is not shy about shoving the QD aspect of the S95C in everyone’s faces. So what’s the deal with the S90C?

I only watch TV through streaming apps - Netflix, Disney+, Prime, NowTV. Should I be concerned about the comments on it not being good with these streaming apps?

I went to John Lewis store and preferred all the LG OLED's to Samsung. Glad I went. I nearly purchased a TV blind based on reviews.
I noticed you don’t mention 5:5 pulldown, my 90C have a major issue with it.
Between panning shots it would micro freeze the image.
Especially in EU regions where cable TV is 50Hz!!!
There is no way to do inverse pulldown 3:2! Cause you cannot bring back 50 fps from 60fps!
This caused major problem for me!😢
The issue is negated only by enabling de judder to 2-4 clicks or disabling picture clarity completely or running AppleTV or Google TV in a Game Mode (for USA you would just ran ATV or GTV in match frame rate off in any mode as it would do reverse pull down correctly).
I settled to run more de judder for sports 4 clicks and for shows 2 clicks as I don’t notice soap opera effect. But for other people who are more sensitive to this effect this would be a major issue.
Hopefully with next review this would be also mentioned from here on forward ❤
It would be lovely if ratings actually could communicate this issue to Samsung about last year models, so they could actually address it 🙏

I have an LG and I'd say almost everything is in Dolby Vision now (on the streaming services). So I'd be hesitant to sacrifice that feature.
Where are you seeing Dolby vision with streaming? Maybe MAX and that’s it.

You say hesitant but if you knew what DV actually does compared to regular HDR, then you would know it makes pretty much ZERO difference on high end TV's over regular HDR
I have to report on quality issues with my 77" s90c. The screen didn't turn on but the sound was playing after 3 months of use. It took Samsung 5 weeks to repair and it seems they replaced the LCD panel. After that I looked up on the internet and seems this issue is pretty widespread.
Anything will be better then my 3 year old budget Hisense I haven’t even had a QLED or OLED so this will be my first high end tv

Can I cast TH-cam, Prime Video, Netflix... with the Cast Icon from my Android Smartphone to the S90C? I wasn't sure about that due to the fact that it hasn't Chromecast built-in.

Yes this TV is cast capable, so you shouldn't have any issues casting from most common platforms or streaming services!

I really don’t like Samsung OS and worried about the black screen issues. Also I hear blacks are more dark gray than black vs WOLED. Would you say the G3 is a better buy or save the 1300$ or so and just get a S90C? I would love to know what you recommend Abby, as I’m looking to buy in the next couple weeks. Also this is to upgrade my LG C1 which still looks amazing I also own the A80J and A90J.

S90c all the way, its better tech full stop, also you'll get second gen panel, no brainer
put a gray image and adjust the brightness 0-5 and see if it has vertical stripes ... mine does and it is even visible in videos

@@stennan the panel lottery is not confirmed for s90D. Get a S89C and I can guarantee QD OLED 2nd gen. Great TV at great price. The Tizen OS is great and smooth. If you don’t like it get an Apple TV box to go with. All your problems solved and you saved some massive coin for the best TV out now.
Can you explain why you want or really even need Dolby Vision on an OLED? The fact is people don't even know what they need to get what they want. Literally the only difference Dolby Vision makes is per scene adjustments that a good TV simply doesn't need, regular HDR looks just as good on a good TV because it can handle displaying any image properly with a wide min/max set for the whole title, it's simply not important at all. I have a Samsung without DV and another high end TV with it and I don't notice a difference between DV and regular HDR on the Samsung mini LED and since OLED is even better it just doesn't matter.
@@DanielBrownOreYup, DV is completely irrelevant. Most people want it because streaming uses it, but streaming image quality is garbage regardless. The only time it actually matters is for 4K blu-rays, which is super niche. And even then, nobody can tell the difference. HDR is a gimmick for the most part anyway.

Been reading and people have been saying atmos is not supported without a soundbar. But when I watch movies that say they have atmos on Netflix or iTunes through my Apple TV without a soundbar, it shows on the tv that the audio is atmos. Clarification would be awesome, thanks
I got disappointed by LG, you spend 1-3k eur on 65 inch oled and it lasts between 3-5 yrs. Have a 2 yrs warranty and mine went into problems in 3rd year already with white line in middle of the screen. Many people reported same known issue, well rip money. This is why I’m exploring samsung as alternative. Does not have same issues.
This is my first time buying a nice TV. I play video games on the most recent Xbox and watch sports. Is the s90c good for both? I hate watching TVs and there is a lag behind the ball and want to make sure that’s not an issue before purchasing. Thank you!
I got my 77 s90c a few weeks back, I don’t know if I got lucky with the panel but the windows HDR calibration tool sets me to about 1590 nits until I can see the pattern disappear, also, on the ps5 calibration tool I have to go up 19 clicks until the sun disappears, aren’t those measurements above average for this tv model?
Hi Abby. You mentioned in your review the automatic brightness limiter. Does the limiter kick on only in certain situations? How does the algorithm work?
The Automatic Brightness Limiter significantly dims bright highlights when they take up a large portion of the screen. So scenes with a lot of bright areas, like a bright sunny day at the beach or sports like hockey, are significantly dimmer on this TV than they are on a non-OLED panel!

Going to pull the trigger on the 65" tomorrow. Buying direct from Samsung with military discount I can get it for 1,439 with a 2 year Samsung care plus for free. At that price point it just seems like a no Brainer even with the couple small negatives. The other tvs I was considering were c3 at 1600 and a75l at 1500.
Coming from like a 4 year old vizio m series nothing special qled I'm hoping this will be as big of an upgrade as I think it will be lol.
Side note: the s90c I looked at on display in best buy had insane burn in. You could clearly see Amazon prime logo and the word Cinderella 😂😂.

This TV's low-quality content smoothing is only alright (we rated it a 6.8.) It can't smooth out macro blocking very well, so it's very noticeable in dark scenes but fine details are still preserved very well!
The only problem I see with this TV is that the coating it has it's terrible for durability, if you pass your finger through it you take it out, that simple. It shouldn't be that way and you should be allowed to even clean it without taking out the coating. Luckily I still didn't clean it but those small finger prints still stay.
I'd assume the Best Buy exclusive S89C (only 77") is included in this group? Disregard, I should've watched the whole video before commenting.
So frustrating that Samsung still has not sorted out the dropout issues on the s95c. Just got a warranty replacement for mine and still dealing with the same issue boo.

No one can even tell the difference. But I can sure tell the picture quality is way better by default on the samsung.
