Mike dirnt is the most criminally underrated bass player ! His sound is so recognisable and unique, so technical and the fact he plays with a pick just shits on all the “purist” nerds that couldn’t sound this good if they tried! Legend absolute legend

Mike`s slaying!
As a bass player myself, I can confirm Mike dirnt is an absolute god for being able to play that.
I found a few of the parts very tricky, just cuz of how fiddly it all is
It’s a great bassline though
As a guitarist I have always felt bad for the under representation of bassist and this made me feel incredibly happy

2:10 I’m so glad they showed Mike’s bass fill-it’s one of the best but easily overlooked moments in this song. He’s a rock solid bass player with melodic ideas, and it’s great to see him in the spotlight. Also love to see how hard Billie-Joe and Tré dig his playing.

You guys are my favorite of all time. I saw u in concert in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately my world flipped upside down that night. It was my 22nd wedding anniversary about 10 minutes in my husband left me front row mosh pit to text his mistres. I found him only 30 min into concert and i took a cab home. A year and half later i was by my fathers bed while he died. Havent been the same since. My one solace is when september ends. Bless u, hope to try again.
I love this song. And absolutely agree the bass sounds incredible on it.
That bassline for the song is so damn cool, I particularly love the up and down of the scale in the pre chorus and the middle 8 section is so good too and I love that in places it follows the vocal melody
