@@riphdy1 Yes! I immediately thought of Stuck with Me when he busted out that major scale run. Mike is such a beast, and his tone is consistently *chefs kiss*
I love how they’re still impressed by each other’s abilities after over 30 years and still appreciate and compliment when something sounds killer!! Mike really smashed it out of the park with the bass on this one 🤘
Mike dirnt is the most criminally underrated bass player ! His sound is so recognisable and unique, so technical and the fact he plays with a pick just shits on all the “purist” nerds that couldn’t sound this good if they tried! Legend absolute legend
Billie always looks like he's working Tre always looks like he's having a really good time Mike always looks like he's got the song in 1 take but everyone else keeps fucking up haha
Mike Dirnt: casually knocking it out of the park for 37 years. This is my favourite track off the new album so thanks for the little behind-the-scenes peek guys!🤘🤘🏻🤘🏿
@@sidvicious332 That’s what I meant when I said it’s basically a three-chord song. The chorus is 1-5-4 and the verse is 1-4-5 which is the majority of the song.
2:10 I’m so glad they showed Mike’s bass fill-it’s one of the best but easily overlooked moments in this song. He’s a rock solid bass player with melodic ideas, and it’s great to see him in the spotlight. Also love to see how hard Billie-Joe and Tré dig his playing.
I've waited my entire life to see you guys live. After decades of copied tapes, voyaging thru CD booklets, and singing out loud to driving-in-my-car jams...I finally will. Fan since 1994. And, I was born in 1981!
i love how much they all 3 really let loose on this record! everybody has some absolutely standout parts on every song! especially hearing Mike do all those fun little transitional runs again is an absolute treat 💚
This song has sounded incredible ever since the first time I heard it in July. Definitely shows the ability of how Green Day can still write spectacular pop punk songs!
Man I miss Green Day growing up as a kid in the 90’s. Insomnia is still the best album ever made and I remember receiving it when I was 11 or 12 when it just came out
The cool thing is you know by looking at Cavallo and the boys it’s Mike’s first take on the song. He is just killing it on the bass and in his head he have all the lines written before he’s about to record. And everybody goes crazy about it. After almost 40 years of jamming together. They was asked in interviews if they really did record live together in the same room. «Nobody» do that anymore. I’m proud to have been supporting this band for close to 30 years. Basically my entire childhood and adult life. It’s a major part of my identity, and it will always be that way.
Mike really knows how to blend melodically in a groove. It's like "yeah I'll groove and play what rhythm guitar plays, but I'm gonna throw in some razzle dazzle at the end of every 4/4 measure" what a treat
Mike is the reason I started playing bass. Now I’ve been playing for 15 years, half my life, and I’m still so impressed with him. Thanks for your years of inspiration, Mike!
I love that brotherhood and connection they have when they get into the studio, it's perfect ❤. Best of all, you can see and feel it in Saviors' music. 😊
You guys are my favorite of all time. I saw u in concert in Pittsburgh. Unfortunately my world flipped upside down that night. It was my 22nd wedding anniversary about 10 minutes in my husband left me front row mosh pit to text his mistres. I found him only 30 min into concert and i took a cab home. A year and half later i was by my fathers bed while he died. Havent been the same since. My one solace is when september ends. Bless u, hope to try again.
That bassline for the song is so damn cool, I particularly love the up and down of the scale in the pre chorus and the middle 8 section is so good too and I love that in places it follows the vocal melody

Dude watching Mike absolutely slay is always a treat to watch
Mike going Stuck With Me levels in this track
Yes it's always exciting when Mike have space to express his genius ❤
@@riphdy1 absolutely! definitely reminds us of insomniac. such a great album
No regrets signing them to Reprise not some 30 years ago
@@riphdy1 Yes! I immediately thought of Stuck with Me when he busted out that major scale run. Mike is such a beast, and his tone is consistently *chefs kiss*
3:19 they praised the shit out of mike and it was well deserved. That's a sick bassline and its so cool to see them support each other like that
Came here to say the bass goes hard
Frrr
That bass line is insane 👀😍

He's one of the most recognizable bassists in modern rock, yet I agree. STILL underrated!
Watching him just go to town on the bass is fascinating. He's truly one of the best.
Sheer pride on Bill and Tre’s faces as Mike slayed that riff. Epic.
I love Billie nodding like "that's my man right there that's why we've rocked together since the beginning"
Bass sounds sick! Look at them enjoying .Great Job Mike
Let's all take a moment to appreciate the hell out of Mike Dirnt's incredible bass playing! Holy hell!!!
Billie always looks like he's working
Tre always looks like he's having a really good time
Mike always looks like he's got the song in 1 take but everyone else keeps fucking up haha
This song is absolutely awesome!! Please make a documentary of you guys recording saviors, I think we all would enjoy watching that!

This is my favourite track off the new album so thanks for the little behind-the-scenes peek guys!🤘🤘🏻🤘🏿
dude that bass tone 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love how much Mike Dirnt adds to what is basically a three-chord song
Its definitely not a 3 chord song. 3 chord chorus yes.
@@sidvicious332 That’s what I meant when I said it’s basically a three-chord song. The chorus is 1-5-4 and the verse is 1-4-5 which is the majority of the song.
@@sidvicious332 shut up
PLEASE KEEP MAKING THESE FOR EVERY ALBUM
As a bass player myself, I can confirm Mike dirnt is an absolute god for being able to play that.
I found a few of the parts very tricky, just cuz of how fiddly it all is
It’s a great bassline though
As a guitarist I have always felt bad for the under representation of bassist and this made me feel incredibly happy
Everyone shines in this album. I believe that they needed to prove to themselves that they still got it. And boy, they absolutely do

Mike Dirnt is such a badass on bass.
Green Day fills the hole in my heart The Jam left when they quit. 😊
Mikes bass lines on the whole album are so fire .

Green Day We Love You ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This is one of the best mike basslines in the band. He absolutely slays in this song!!!
2:11 Most underrated bass player in Rock & Roll right there. Rob Cavello knows.
That bassline for the song is so damn cool, I particularly love the up and down of the scale in the pre chorus and the middle 8 section is so good too and I love that in places it follows the vocal melody

I could watch fly-on-the-wall footage like this of Green Day recording for hours
Green day making a masterpiece 💚💚👽
so this is why playing this song alone in my room sounds lacking. the bassline goes so hard!
Mike's technique is so damn clean it's beautiful to see
Can't wait to see you guys in Chicago, grew up listening to you guys!!! Green Day coming back was the best thing to happen in 2023/2024
