I love Souzas voice. But I also love Rob Dukes as well. I love Souzas work with Exodus. I wouldnt want to, say, hear Tempo of the Damned with Rob on the record, or Shovel Headed... with Souza. The frontmans respective efforts on each makes it unique. Rob had a streetwise edge to his vox that made songs like Raze for example that much more punchy and intense. Souzas on the other hand has a voice that is sharper, distinctly his, and shrill, and keeps the listener at a slught unease the whole time, which is what metal is all about.
I agree. I think it would be cool if they would record an album with both of them. Zetro sing a few songs. Dukes sing a few and maybe both of them together on a couple. I know it'll never happen but I bet it would kick ass

I like both singers, Steve and Dukes. But the band's sound changes dramatically when the singer changes. I mean, I can't compare songs like War Is My Sheperd with Deathamphetamine, or Blood In Blood Out with The Ballad Of Leonard And Charles, they are a bit different (in a good way). I like Dukes and his albums more (Exhibit B is one of the best Thrash albums I've ever heard), but Steve is also amazing, I loved the new album. Exodus is one of my favorite band anyways.

This is how I see it too. Generally I prefer Steve's stuff, though Dukes era was heavier for the most part and my favourite song is Funeral Hymn.

I was turning 12 when i heard my first true metal album and of course it was exodus bonded by blood and when it got to piranha i felt this overpowering energy and at that moment i knew i was now a true thrash/death metal slave and it was because of this most underated band who should of been amongst the big 4 where thee great(est) guitar player HOLT! could do the slayer set and the exodus spot.....holt is a fucking beast on the guitar and thrashes harder than anyone ive ever seen.
One thing i respect from exodus is that, guy who enters the band guy who put his own thing to the band and never lost the line, baloff, dukes and now zetro, exodus has that characteristic line realy clear about their style LONG LIVE EXODUS!
This song gives me so much energy it's unbelievably.

I've seen Exodus 4 times with this bass player (and with all three of their singers!), and he always looks like he hates being onstage. Reminds me of Snowy White from Thin Lizzy; great player but not much of a showman.

Been a metal fan since I was a kid in the early 80's. Sadly though they remained unknown to me till a few years ago. Very quickly they became one of my favorite bands.. This just shows why.

Kreator is already part of the "Big 4 of teutonic thrash metal" so they can't be part of the "Big 4". Anthrax should stay, yeah they messed it up with shit like "Bring The Noize" but they are still thrash as fuck. I would take Metallica out and repleace them with Exouds.

I was there for the fiming in Oakland CA. I thought it was gonna be something different, but when me and my friends got there, the idea was a bit off. The director was this emo looking guy that did not look like he knew enough about thrash.

I know a lot of people really don't like Zetro's voice but I've always thought it was pretty badass, he does sound different and I can see how people could dislike it but he just always sounds pissed off, especially in the older Exodus albums which is what it all about

I hope those 2 bands earn a really title for themselves. Especially when you look at Bobby Blitz, no one could sing like he does.
Overkill was originally a Punk band, so the concept of Thrash didn't come to them yet. You can even hear their Punk influences in their first album. Metallica wasn't the first Thrash Metal band, but they were the ones who made it mainstream and popular. Sorta like Death wasn't the first Death Metal band, but they were the ones who made Death Metal popular. Exodus was the first. They were formed on 1980. Hell, even Kirk Hammett originally played with them till he joined Metallica. They were the ones who came up with the idea of mixing Punk with Heavy Metal which is evident in their 1980 Demo.
Well, thrash metal started in the early 70's and they started somewhere in 1980. So I guess NO!
The Unadulterated Dolphin Actually Death was the first death metal band. Everybody else only experimented with growling vocals and Scream Bloody Gore was the first death metal album

Got to see Exodus at Soundwave yesterday - was amazing and then I met them and let them know they put on a great show. They are so nice, I got to have a good talk with them. Very laid back, and great performers. EXODUS!
