In Elite Dangerous I worked my way from zero to Elite status in Commerce/Trade simply by running passengers to a set loop of star systems then back home within a set time limit. Simple, clean, made me millions of credits and that ranking. In SC the 600iTouring and 890Jump will likely serve that same purpose. Luxury travel and sight seeing, in Origin Style.

That elevator platform glitch is killing me twice a week in several ships like the C2, Corsair, Caterpillar, and 600i. Gotta wait a couple seconds before getting on or off those platforms.
It's always funny to me how they give such kind of ships offensive weaponry instead of defensive ones. The main firepower of this ship seems rather useless to defend from likely somewhat smaller pirates, but seems good for things like attacking larger transport vessels and the like.
@@HypePerformanceGroup I mean there's at least turrets, which are more defensively oriented. They can protect angles of the ship smaller ships would usually attack from. And even for the front they would make some sense to protect from smaller ships as a turret turns much faster, than the ship and thus can track small targets better.
This is what I would expect of a luxury touring ship worth it price tag. Be nice once everything is functional & have some personal touches. Like a nice small water feature would really make this ship unique & stand out for what it is. Which can be customized by the owner or whoever has authorization. This helps make my decition a bit easiler now. Moving towards my Space Admiral ranking . So this makes for a good present to myself here. Not to mention the perfect ship for those long flights with my VIP guests. :)
I look forward to seeing the finished reworked ships in the game. It's a bit strange that they made it specifically able to transport a Nova Tank, but I'm sure there are a lot of other things you could move with it.
This has to be one of my favorite ships in the game (not surprising, given that we unfortunately only have a few luxury ships). I’m currently using the 890 Jump as my daily driver, but I only bought it because I wanted the biggest, most over-the-top ship. Looking back, I probably should’ve gone with the 600i instead. The 890 Jump is awesome, but it’s also way too big-something I never thought I’d say. I think the 600i is probably the best daily driver if you like to just chill during quantum travel.
Excellent video on the 600I Farrister. Of course if i were to purchase one, it would have to be the Explorer version. I had the chance to buy the large Explorer pack that included one, but it was a bit out of my budget. Besides, at the moment, I can do as much or more with my Carrack. Luxury is nice, but function is what I was looking at. Don't get me wrong, I like the luxury as much as any person, but at what cost and sacrifice financially is it worth it. Thanks for the video. Was at a ship meet last weekend where a buddy brought his executive edition 😮 But I really prefer the 400i for a daily driver, as it’s faster and more agile.
My favourite ship. I love the 600i so much. I sometimes just travel aimlessly around planets or POI with it. I am not getting tired to say though my major problem with it is that i can not carry a small vehicle. I hope the rework would atleast get a small vehicle, even a STV would have been fine, but got dissapointed.
I loved it - i wanted it, and after checking it in game i did discover there is NO CARGO entrance by you can load in to ship. Huge ship that cannot take 1SCU from outside (on small elevator it will bug out) and cargo grid can be loaded by terminals ONLY!
I just love the window in the floor of the passenger area... just perfect but i guess i will buy the explorer instead cause cargo space and a small vehicle for me makes just more sense. most of the time im sitting in the cockpit enjoying the view.
Well, I finally have this after melting my Nomad, all of my paints, etc and CCU chaining my 400i up to this. Got it for $50. Now what am I going to do with it? I haven't a clue. If only it had a way to store the G12 - but we'll see if I eventually bump this to the Explorer variant or not. For now, well, I need to give my wallet a rest on this game for another year, I think 😆 I always enjoy your vids, thanks for taking the time to make them.
While the luxury style is nice at first sight, you quickly notice visual glitches all over the 600i and 400 that cannot be ignored. At that price range, be it real cash or in-game currency, one would expect to have something flawless, but its not the case. I might be nit-picking, but for me, to farm millions of aUEC for having weird glitches every time I get on the ship pop up is a big nono. I was going to farm the 9.5M to get the ship, but at 7.5M, I decided to try it and rent it for a day at 280k. That was the best spent credits ever. In my opinion, I dodged a bullet, for now ...who knows what the rework and time will do for this ship. Great tour as usual Farrister!
Love the 600i but agree it's going to take a lot of games updates for the touring to ever be better than the explorer. You don't lose the luxury feel for you in the explorer at all just the guest cabins. Best looking ship in the verse though IMHO and awesome for doing bounties.
I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the lose of crew cabins. I don't understand why they don't have any in the upper deck. Plus the lower back deck guest bedroom area needs windows or something to make it feel less gloomy
i can relate to that verdict, ship looks great but the lack of stuff compared to the 600ie is just so much, and with the rework it'll only have me more interested in the 600ie, i pledged the 600t thinking it would tide me over till 600ie is on sale but the lack of cargo bay and extra SCU is just awful. great ship design but rework defo cant come soon enough! also you forgot to mention the wonderfully sized and visible name placement for the 600 series! i have "Daves Luxury Cruiser" on both sides of mine :D
I think the Corsair has proven that they can do much better with the sleeping arrangements for the crew. There is so much empty space that it could be reconfigured to small cabins for some privacy.
Love this ship! I just bought an 890 jump and I regret it so much. Nothing but bugs, even claiming it at docking ports doesnt work. Total waste of money. Will be getting a 600i explorer soon 😊
The main reason I traded my explorerer 600i for the touring was because of the explorers vehicle bay being more trouble then good the pad not having gravity leads to bouncing around of anything you place on it damaging the ship or destroying it or most the time flinging it so I down graded to the touring while it does not have a garage at least you have a space that looks nice and you have more room for friends I'll probs go back to the explorer after the rework however but till then yea.
i recommend trying that though take a normal 600 and try to put a box on the ramp and see what happens when me and my friends did it it flung the ship up 30km into space it was quite comical i recommend anyone trying that see how far we can fling a 600 into space. (my bad was not meaning to ping you on that
I do like heading out in the 600i and cruse the space and planets lol I went for the Explorer but looking at the re-worked model I dont know we will see I may have to have both lol
I really like the design. But I find it a weird design choice, that the passenger suites don't have windows. Also, the hallway for the passenger suites look really dull and empty, more like a crew area. Thinking about the purpose of a luxury tourer with people who book a flight to get some systems across, I would want windows in my suite.
I was shocked to learn that there is no vehicle or cargo bay at all on the Touring. I'm not sure what I'd do with this ship. I guess if I'm only using it for interplanetary travel it would be good, but then I could use a Freelancer for that. Or a Constellation Phoenix if I wanted to travel in style. I guess for transporting passengers it would be good too, except that the passengers have to board through that little elevator.
You realize that the 600i touring is the only ship of that class (constellation Phoenix, 890 jump), with no bath, pool or similar facility? It is a very cheap “touring” version. The new interior is not out.
The only benefit I see this having over the explorer might be the guest areas, which might somehow affect passenger missions once those are in-game, other than that though it's a straight up downgrade to the explorer imho.
The biggest deal breaker right now for me is the sterling paint and cold forge paint dont work on the touring. Like bugged out. So im REALLY hoping the new iae 2953 paint works with the touring and isnt bugged like the rest
Did the elevator platform just leave the atmosphere on 1:42? 🤣 I don't get Touring ships. I can imagine there being a purpose there. There is this little great game called Windward, where you control a sailship and go make trade with towns, protect from pirates, go discover etc, all withe the perspective of a dungeon crawler. In windward you can accept contracts for sightseeing: you take on a "cargo spot" of passengers and sail to certain spots and towns on the map. Something similar might be feasable for Touring ships. You pickup npcs that want to go somewhere, perhaps with cargo and then you ferry them around. Like a taxi, but you couild make mor money the more amenities you have on board. Or some touring missions require certain ship types and luxury standards. There is no point in getting the 600i Touring with the exploration variant existing. That one I really like!

I'll never pick up the Touring, unless its part of a CCU chain. The exploration boat is my poison, because the Carrack is too barebones and the 890 Jump interior is annoying as hell. Clogged up with pure roleplaying geometry lacking function. You'd need a Tumbril Ranger to get anywhere in reasonable time. If I had any say, I'd do a shrink to 70% of the 600's current size and that would be big enough for me.
Loved my 600i. Had to melt it because of that stupid pulsating light pointed right at the captains chair. Who thought it would be a good idea to put a flashing light right in the captains face is anyone’s guess lol
that's quite a trek to get a 1 SCU box into your cargo area - don't count on transporting anything more than food and alcohol for your parties.🤣 assuming it even fits on that outer elevator
I feel like there's a lot of wasted space in the crew quarters. Couldn't give the crew a bit of privacy while they sleep, huh? A little strange imo. I feel like that table in the dining area is just asking for plates to slide off it as well. Fantastic use of materials throughout, though.
This is definitely the ship youd want as a home for a family (I imagine these ships as flying portable deadly homes, sometimes) lol The touring is wack. Theres no rooms for the other crew members, they could at least put two someplace. More windows would be nice also
I love the idea of the 600 series but the interior is a mess. There are some nice spaces but they are in the wrong places and some of the spaces get priority when they shouldn't (the crew restrooms are larger than the owner's restroom for example). I'm looking forward to the rework.
in the current state of the game, I would rather go with Hercules. It does everything 600i does but with better flight dynamics, better cargo and ability to carry any vehicle. After rework, things might change.
Corsair is a fine ship, most of the new breed are, yet it suffers frpm being drull, likened to flying in a trashcan, no source of natural light, abysmal Drake aesthetics and moves at a snails pace, and with all the charm of Klescher. Nothing i would want to spend time in.
1:42 nothing more than a slow, unsurprised look in the lift's direction as it flies off into the distance at mach 8 before returning to from whence it came within the blink of an eye. Star Citizen has conditioned us to see some real shyd.
I prefer the touring over the explorer. As of now they only benefit the explorer have is it's cargo bay. Every other function of the ship is just waste of space. At least with my touring I can have passengers on and make it seem like they have their own rooms and an entire bottom floor to relax in, instead of a none functional scanning room taking up the entire upper half.
I have the normal 600i, love it and its quite tanky in doing some heavy bounties...just question anyone notice if their ground vehicle start to break apart when they store on the cargo bay? not sure why, I noticed this recentlt, sometimes I notice the wheel came off etc..kinda weird because I have ground vehicle on my corsair, connie and other ship like MSR, and if I store there, they stay there undamaged...
I can imagine this would make quite a pretty penny transporting npc multi millionaires or even billionaires between systems. I imagine that would be a rather lucrative career path, and not that hard either.
Flew it during freefly. It is a lovely ship, I'll give it that, but I dont think its the right ship for me. It did very well in combat but it lacks in every other department. The tiny elevator as the only entrance and exit is a serious designflaw. It needs another entrance and maybe even a dockingcollar. For a ship of its size, designation and class it lacks medical facilites. No way to transport a single small vehicle. Yeah I know the Explorer exists but something as big as the 600i should have the ability to deploy a small parasite craft. Even if it is just a bike. I hope they adress some of these points with the rework but even then I think the the 600i explorer would be more my cup of tea.
You describe the 600i as "not slow" but it has the 3rd slowest SCM speed in the game, behind only the 890 Jump and the Reclaimer. It's slow, no two ways about it.
It is a ship alright. The interiors look good, it does well in PvE and once passenger transport comes into play it'll be a good VIP transport. However, I'm not a fan of Origin design. Most of the lineup looks like eggs, the luxury designer style bothers my practical sense when that space could be used for something useful and wood and marble just aren't spaceship materials.

I really like the design. But I find it a weird design choice, that the passenger suites don't have windows. Also, the hallway for the passenger suites look really dull and empty, more like a crew area.
Thinking about the purpose of a luxury tourer with people who book a flight to get some systems across, I would want windows in my suite.
I was shocked to learn that there is no vehicle or cargo bay at all on the Touring. I'm not sure what I'd do with this ship. I guess if I'm only using it for interplanetary travel it would be good, but then I could use a Freelancer for that. Or a Constellation Phoenix if I wanted to travel in style. I guess for transporting passengers it would be good too, except that the passengers have to board through that little elevator.

You realize that the 600i touring is the only ship of that class (constellation Phoenix, 890 jump), with no bath, pool or similar facility? It is a very cheap “touring” version. The new interior is not out.

The only benefit I see this having over the explorer might be the guest areas, which might somehow affect passenger missions once those are in-game, other than that though it's a straight up downgrade to the explorer imho.

The biggest deal breaker right now for me is the sterling paint and cold forge paint dont work on the touring. Like bugged out. So im REALLY hoping the new iae 2953 paint works with the touring and isnt bugged like the rest

I don't get Touring ships. I can imagine there being a purpose there. There is this little great game called Windward, where you control a sailship and go make trade with towns, protect from pirates, go discover etc, all withe the perspective of a dungeon crawler. In windward you can accept contracts for sightseeing: you take on a "cargo spot" of passengers and sail to certain spots and towns on the map.
Something similar might be feasable for Touring ships. You pickup npcs that want to go somewhere, perhaps with cargo and then you ferry them around. Like a taxi, but you couild make mor money the more amenities you have on board. Or some touring missions require certain ship types and luxury standards.
There is no point in getting the 600i Touring with the exploration variant existing. That one I really like!

I'll never pick up the Touring, unless its part of a CCU chain.
The exploration boat is my poison, because the Carrack is too barebones and the 890 Jump interior is annoying as hell. Clogged up with pure roleplaying geometry lacking function. You'd need a Tumbril Ranger to get anywhere in reasonable time. If I had any say, I'd do a shrink to 70% of the 600's current size and that would be big enough for me.

Loved my 600i. Had to melt it because of that stupid pulsating light pointed right at the captains chair. Who thought it would be a good idea to put a flashing light right in the captains face is anyone’s guess lol

The Touring needs a cargo elevator. I didn't do my research, else I've bought the Exploration. Waiting for a reset before grinding again :/
that's quite a trek to get a 1 SCU box into your cargo area - don't count on transporting anything more than food and alcohol for your parties.🤣 assuming it even fits on that outer elevator

I feel like there's a lot of wasted space in the crew quarters. Couldn't give the crew a bit of privacy while they sleep, huh? A little strange imo. I feel like that table in the dining area is just asking for plates to slide off it as well. Fantastic use of materials throughout, though.
Need to keep them from sleeping in too long, so they can serve the clientelle!
This is definitely the ship youd want as a home for a family (I imagine these ships as flying portable deadly homes, sometimes) lol
The touring is wack. Theres no rooms for the other crew members, they could at least put two someplace.

I love the idea of the 600 series but the interior is a mess. There are some nice spaces but they are in the wrong places and some of the spaces get priority when they shouldn't (the crew restrooms are larger than the owner's restroom for example). I'm looking forward to the rework.
Hopefully the rework addresses those issues
in the current state of the game, I would rather go with Hercules. It does everything 600i does but with better flight dynamics, better cargo and ability to carry any vehicle. After rework, things might change.

Corsair is a fine ship, most of the new breed are, yet it suffers frpm being drull, likened to flying in a trashcan, no source of natural light, abysmal Drake aesthetics and moves at a snails pace, and with all the charm of Klescher. Nothing i would want to spend time in.
600i explorer or constellation andromeda is the question...

I prefer the touring over the explorer. As of now they only benefit the explorer have is it's cargo bay. Every other function of the ship is just waste of space. At least with my touring I can have passengers on and make it seem like they have their own rooms and an entire bottom floor to relax in, instead of a none functional scanning room taking up the entire upper half.
I like the personality of the touring too. Hoping we get to see a meaningful rework, this ship has huge potential!

I have the normal 600i, love it and its quite tanky in doing some heavy bounties...just question anyone notice if their ground vehicle start to break apart when they store on the cargo bay? not sure why, I noticed this recentlt, sometimes I notice the wheel came off etc..kinda weird because I have ground vehicle on my corsair, connie and other ship like MSR, and if I store there, they stay there undamaged...
Sounds like an industrial warehouse inside when it should sound more like the Next Generation Enterprise... I don't get it...

It is a lovely ship, I'll give it that, but I dont think its the right ship for me.
It did very well in combat but it lacks in every other department.
The tiny elevator as the only entrance and exit is a serious designflaw. It needs another entrance and maybe even a dockingcollar.
For a ship of its size, designation and class it lacks medical facilites.
No way to transport a single small vehicle. Yeah I know the Explorer exists but something as big as the 600i should have the ability to deploy a small parasite craft. Even if it is just a bike.
I hope they adress some of these points with the rework but even then I think the the 600i explorer would be more my cup of tea.

You describe the 600i as "not slow" but it has the 3rd slowest SCM speed in the game, behind only the 890 Jump and the Reclaimer. It's slow, no two ways about it.
These days the SCM speed is just where the limiter sits, it's more of an arbitrary thing than a performance cap.

It is a ship alright. The interiors look good, it does well in PvE and once passenger transport comes into play it'll be a good VIP transport.
However, I'm not a fan of Origin design. Most of the lineup looks like eggs, the luxury designer style bothers my practical sense when that space could be used for something useful and wood and marble just aren't spaceship materials.
But beautiful wood and marble... :D

@@Farrister ummm yes and no but with the 600I its a Major Rework especially the interior layout look, feel and function. Old vs New would have made more sense.

I would not use the 600i Touring to self fund it's running costs!! Use other ships, and take the Touring out for those well earned Week End 'breaks'
