These restaurants challenges are no joke. Having the judges watching and expediting is already enough. But in season 3 having Eric Chong giving instructions on making a dish, Alvin being the expo, and having the season 2 alumni as the customers that’s double the pressure

@@tenzintulotsang1953Hell's kitchen have PROFESSIONAL chefs. They are bound to and expected to do that every week. These are home cooks. Thats the difference. They are not used to this

That was TOTALLY Kaila's fault that their table left the restaurant. Had she LISTENED to Tamara's instructions and WAITED to drop her fish, until the correct time, they would have had that plate done and the table would not have left. But because she failed to follow instructions, she had to start over and the customers finally lost patience with her incompetence.
Exactly. That was on her and nobody else. Why can't you follow direct, repeated, clear instructions from your team captain? made me so mad

It’s all in turns at the start. But main problem is that they don’t repeat restaurants; Claudio’s places shuts down while Alvin’s restaurants are mostly overseas.
Michael owns the most restaurants by a long way out of the three. I believe he actually owns a company (Oliver and Bonachini) which owns multiple restaurants

Chef Micheal is a very calm and descent judge but very different when in the actual kitchen service, he’s aggressive and way more strict 🫣 all his aggressiveness makes sense btw he’s not out of the line
When you serve food, it basically needs to be perfect especially if the dishes run the risk of food poisoning if it’s undercooked like with Chicken, Pork, and Lobster.
Micheal: “What color is that? Make sure it doesn’t happen again.”

What's cool is that these 3 restaurants are unique in their own aspects of how they can challenge the chef
Claudio's restaurant chellenged the key elements of timing and precision when it comes to firing off orders
Michael's restaurant went for beauty, accuracy and experience for the customers, how they enjoy the food and how the food appeals to them.
Alvin's restaurant focuses on more foreign and more technical aspects of food, using woks, plating complex dishes filled with different elements.
All of these 3 restaurants shown in the first 3 challenges seen definitely exercises the different aspects of what a chef is
7:15 - Chef Claudio comes in there and gets all the orders done in 10 minutes. He is an aggressive and great chef.
Funny how he said serious consequences cause a table walked out. What was the consequences? Giving the red team the win? What's worse? Have a table walk out or jumping in to help get the food out? You can tell he wanted Eric in pressure test to get him eliminated.
@@MrGordon000 you get no money and your image brokes when you screw up and a table gets out so when you constantly screw up the chef comes in that shouldnt happen because the chefs expect that you can do it with your team alone

@@MrGordon000 In the real world, which they are simulating, having customers walk out on you is terrible for business. It is a customer that will never come back, won't tell their friends and family to come to your restaurant, and is likely to drop a negative review. It's horrible business practice to constantly fail your customers.

@@nikhilcruz the difference is that Eric made a mistake by placing it down on the wrong side, kayla ignored a direct instruction that was told to her multiple times.
@@nikhilcruz Oh please, she was told many times to wait for the steak and to not drop the fish UNTIL the meat was ready. Difference between Eric and Kaila is that Eric made a simple mistake while not being told on how to do it properly. Kaila straight up ignored what was told to her and then proceeded to be reprimanded.

What I really enjoy about this show is that Judges like Alvin might be strict, however they also praise techniques, dishes which deserve to be praised. Like they don't see all the skills they have as the standard the cooks require to have.

I could watch a compilation of current contestants cooking for past contestants, runner ups, and winners all day. The previous season constants are respectful because they were in the shoes of the current ones. I'd much rather see that than the newbies cooking for rich, stuck up, old assholes who get up and leave because they don't have 5 minutes of patience due to 1 mistake.

Man this gives me anxiety.. Even if it is the "Best of". Being an expo for years I know the struggle of getting things out, pretty and fast. Perfect and quick. Every plate that comes back is an insult and a sign of weakness. Cooking is just as stressful. There's a LOT of yelling in the kitchen lol
