    Canp biscuits, a scrambled egg and squirrel gravy. Breakfast, or dinner fit for a king. Yumm yumm.

    I learned way more than I ever knew about boning out and using a squirrel. My son and his wife knew this stuff years ago: she said it was her duty to cook whatever her man brought in.

    An American fella can't go wrong with Uncle Ben's Rice! The SPOON is 'Ace.' A generous-sized spoon is just what is needed to stir, serve, and dine from. MY GRANDFATHER brought spoons like this back from his Navy service in WWII.

    Squirrel and wabbits make for some good eats. Make you some stew next go round with the old timey lima beans and corn and tomatoes and black pepper and such. Squirrel and ramens is a good meal too.
    Hopefully your pack won't have
    43 pockets like most of the packs offered these days.
    A canvas version of the ALICE
    pack would be a good one if
    it had good shoulder straps.
    Have fun. Be safe
    Thanks for the video

    I bought the 8” skillet when it first came out. I thought it was too small at first but it turns out that the DEPTH is perfect! It holds plenty of food as well as ample room for storage.
    I have yet to use my 10” skillet but I’ve got grandkids now…
    This is my go to gear for Bushcraft cooking. Dave’s background is in engineering and he is constantly adding and improving this line of gear.
    I’m looking forward to what’s next😃

    Another, Spot On video Sir! I've been watching your videos for a long time (at least since you just started developing the sling bow (so, maybe 14ish years?)) And I keep getting new ideas to teach my 8yr old grandson. I actually showed him how to make a dish similar to this yesterday ,only using dove instead of squirrel.

    Thx again "chef dave". You should try making my favorate camp dish. I use knorrs mac n cheese. And a starkist buffalo chicken packet. But i would imagine you could substitute the chicken packet for some similar game animal and some franks red hot. Give it a try. Any animal that eould be good with cheese and buffalo sauce flavoring would work. Knorrs are usually only about a 1.50 each and the chicken packet is usually only 2 bucks and some change. And they are pretty compact and lightweight.

    I can watch these all day. Lots of skills here. A question for you also. You had a single squirrel and never cracked it's skull for the brains. Whenever my Father had several squirrels he always cooked their brains with bacon and eggs. Have you enjoyed them before? I know timing is a factor in these presentations, only curious, wishing all the best for ya.

    Hey Brother. I just need a couple little things to round out my cooking kits. I have your Woodland Chef Kit, stainless steel bottle cook kit with extra nesting cup, and stainless steel canteen cook kit. Along with a second small bushpot, and an alcohol stove. So I have multiple kits for different situations. I'll be putting in another order here real soon.

    What kind of water can/jug is that you have there? The guys from Coalcracker had a tan one looked like that with all kinds of attachments on the cap, forgot to ask while I was there. By the way the ring tripod trick is badass in the rain when you don’t want to be messing with knots. I wanna find some lightweight polymer rings for the kit

    Great video! Still can't bring myself to eat a rodent unless I'm really hungry, but they are one of the most fun hunts to go on. I didn't even care if I got one. Did you just cook the rice in an unopened bag? Can you do that with all of the bagged rice like Knorr and others? Cool trick and nice cook set. It's a shame that they use some of the old style cookware around the world, that's more reasonably priced and lasts a long time, and we can't get it as easy here. I'd have to admit the stuff you've been working on at Pathfinder is really nice stuff. Quality and functional as camping gear (nesting and folding).

    • @modemode3663
      @modemode3663 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @JPMerolla001
      @JPMerolla001 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No. Knorrs has no liquid added. Thats ready rice. Knorrs is instant rice. The downside to the ready rice is that your carrying a lot of extra water weight to be able to cook it in the bag. I prefer instant rice. Like knorrs because it takes about the same ammount of time. For a lot less weight.
