I have some questions:
1. I’ve been rejected from about 50 interviews. (In the last one they found the excuse that I could have given more examples. There must have been 20 to 30 perfectly given interviews with no feedback at all. The feedback I got from a lot of them is that they went for another candidate).
2. Before the pandemic it only took around 4 interviews to secure a new role
3. I went to a top business school and have half a decade of experience working for blue chip companies
4. *I’ve been given the advice by some corporate operatives that I could still somehow secure a role at a top company even if I’ve been unemployed for half a dozen years*
*Is it discrimination? Is it bias because there is money involved? I would just like to know what is going on as I’m being forced to retire early abroad/take a career break in the summer*
@@jahualhaq9853 Hey, I'm no expert, but I've got a thought on why you might be having a tough time landing a job after six years of being out of the game. Companies tend to frown upon long gaps, and even a few months of gap can put you behind other candidates. My two cents: come up with the best excuse known to mankind for that extended break when you're in interviews and be able to say exactly what you were doing or working on pretty much every month of every year that you had a gap. I’m using this video as a refresher because I still consider myself a novice. However this man is right about several things. You HAVE to sell yourself up. Being confident and well spoken goes a very long way in interviews.
I worked as a housekeeper in 2021 but decided I wanted more than that role. I went to a temp agency and landed a job as an admin assistant at a property management company. I worked hard at that property, where I was initially only supposed to be an admin assistant. I ended up working in the maintenance office as a suite coordinator. The corporate office was so impressed they offered me an interview as an accounting administrator, and I nailed the interview. I had no experience other than working with their company, however I sold myself the best I could with the experienced I gain with them
So I went from working in housekeeping to being an accounting administrator within 2 months.

Very detailed and high quality answers. I managed to smash the interview and the hiring manager called me 10 minutes after the interview to tell me that he could not wait for 5 days to let me know about the result of the interview. He told me that this was the best interview he had ever conducted and cannot wait for me to join the role.

I stumbled on this guy's page and I kid you not after STUDYING AND MASTERING 1 or 2 of his videos, I PwC and KPMG offered me an internship that same summer. Thank you Richard, a week back I senselessly agreed speak with the interview the day after I applied. I made a whole prep sheet that evening and watched this video. After the first question "tell me about yourself" and the S.E.A.T response they were so impressed I was hired on the spot. Hey everyone! Sharing my real experience here. I used to doubt those super positive comments on TH-cam, thinking they were fake. But I decided to give it a shot anyway. I followed some advice from the videos, practiced for my job interview, and guess what? I actually landed the job! The videos weren't a magic solution, but they definitely helped me prepare. I really appreciate your videos about interview preparation. I will be having a one way interview tomorrow with a big school. Honestly, I’m nervous because I’ve never done a one way interview before and would preferred to have either zoom or face to face interviews. I think I’m more prepared that yesterday for the interview tomorrow. I just need the wisdom, staying calm and focused. So thanks again for all the tips. I love the bullet points and examples. EDIT: i got the job! I thought i was speaking to a hiring manager i was speaking with their COO vice president! I wowed their socks off and when they asked me if i had any questions i used your advice and they were happy to hear someone ask these things. I hope is never late to say (as I don’t remember if I said): around November 2020 I was preparing for a job interview that I really wanted, so much that I kinda forced my interview 😂 but then suddenly I got the chance and I prepared with you with only a day to do so.
I was nervous yes but, thank you because after my interview on my home (a 10 min trip), I was called back with an offer.
My only experience was customer service in a shop (about to graduate in finance at the time) and I got into an oil and gas company.

You are heaven sent. I asked the smart questions after the interview and she was really impressed with all my questions and answers. I know I got this job and thank you very much again
