I watched The Lost Footage of Leah Sullivan just yesterday, and I think it's now in my top 10 found footage films. The house and the murder story were creepy enough. Her motivation was clear - she was lying to everyone that it was ‘just a school project’, while actually looking for a hot story so she could become famous and start a career in journalism. So she ignored all the cop's warnings and went too far. I liked the acting, all the actors looked natural. Her interviews didn't seem boring, all the bad takes were there, which added some comedy and realism as it must be on a found footage that wasn't edited. The ending was dark and unclear, obviously there wasn't enough budget for special effects. But it fits in with the ‘realism’ of the found footage film. Overall, I think this is what a found footage movie with a minimal budget should look like - simple and effective, using the well-known structure of the genre, well acted story, believable characters, creepy atmosphere Also loved Leaving D.C.
There's a Serbian found footage film called "Naprata" that has one of the scariest last 15 minutes in ff-horror I've ever seen. The first 45 minutes is just exposition, but the ending really makes up for it. It's on youtube right now.
Dude i have seen 1000s of films but many you have found I have never seen!!! Awesome channel man keep it going its way above everyone else’s and i have seen them all !
I have been loving your channel. This video in particular. I love found footage. Mr. Jones had piqued my interest. I was wondering if you have seen Resurrected on Tubi. Not exactly found footage. The whole movie takes place on various computer screens. It way exceeded my expectations. Def one of those movies that punches way above its paygrade.
Thanks for the recommendation. From the list, I have only watched Leah Sullivan and yes, it's also underwhelming for me. I'm gonna look for the other movies!
I love a good (or even decent) found footage too! I’ve seen all these but Webcast (I’ll pass) and The Collingswood Story- which I’ll watch now, so thank you! Like you, I really liked Leaving DC!
I think there's a lot of fun to be had with The Collingswood Story as long as you go into with the expectation that you're watching a microbudget film from 2002. Definitely one of those films that's more "interesting" than "good" so your mileage may vary.
my personal faves: Cannibal holocaust dashcam late night with the devil all the VHS movies gonjam haunted asylum all the hell house LLC movies cloverfield the bay ghostwatch 56 charlie mopic afflicted savageland atticus institute apollo 18 jeruzalem frankenstein's army diary of the dead Pandemic lunopolis deadstream
Oh my God that one fucking got me. I mean I've explored the A Serbian Film genre, but that one still left me just staring at the credits with my mouth open for several minutes after it ended. Just wow.
I honestly like folk horror more if the folk part isn't expected when you start watching the movie. I personally love the movie kill list a lot, but the whole folk part only shows it's hand about halfway through the movie.

Ooh, your description has intrigued me. Thank you very much for the suggestion!
I loved Leaving DC, I've watched it a few times. You really started to feel for the character.

I love that The Large Family is so accessible. It's usually up for free on TH-cam and introduces people to non traditional horror.
The collingswood story was the pioneer of webcam found footage. Way before its time and watching it now makes it nostalgic
Loved leaving DC. One of my favorites.
My watchlist has increased. Thanks! My favorite found footage is Descent Into Darkness: My European Nightmare (2013) by Rafael Cherkaski.
Haven’t heard of this one, seems interesting! Thanks!
@@guestofhorror The director has done performance art. When he employs it in the film, it works very well.
@@guestofhorroralso known as Sorgoi Prakov. I watched it for free on here. It’s pretty wild
I also liked the Collingswood Story, I think it helped that it came out after Blair Witch but before Paranormal Activity.
Leaving D. C. is awesome if you haven't seen go and find out ASAP.

I haven’t seen it so I’ll add it to the list! Thanks for the suggestion!

I have not! Adding it to the list!
@@guestofhorrorI really like this one too!!

I'm fairly sure you recommended Exhibit A before as I watched it after you recommended it? Unless I'm remembering wrong. It was excellent.
Totally forgot about that! I talked about it very briefly in a wrap up video I did a while back. I think it’s OK but it’s not really my type of movie.

Adding Reportage November to your found footage list if you've not seen it.
I will! It's apparently Swedish and I hadn't even heard of it before, wild!
@@guestofhorror Oh good! After all the recs you've given me I hope this one is good for you. Let me know!
This guy has so many obscures film finds its unreal !
Just wanted to say thank you for your recent comments! I’m glad you’ve been able to find some new films!
Have you seen Evil Things?
I have not but thanks for the suggestion! Gonna add it to the list.
Hadn't heard of that one before, and the internet doesn't have much to say about it. Is it a good one?
@@pariahred13 Decent I would say. I do enjoy the rawness of the movie and its low budget aspect.
One found footage i recomend is Monster Project
Someone else just recommended this movie to me in the comments of an older video today so I’m gonna have to watch it!
I would like to recommend Godforsaken
Interesting! I had not even heard of this one! Thank you!
I really like Frogman. I don't care what anyone says, it cracked me up.
Hell yeah! 🐸
I didn't care for Exhibit A. The daughter was great, but the dad was annoying and I hated the ending.
