I am not even sure how he was fired. He seems to have a dip and recovery season history (most coaches do). Did A&M think that he would get them like 10 wins a season and be like Alabama? They are going to find it hard to get a coach that can improve every other year off their dips in wins from the prior season. My question is why would someone pay a coach Nick Saban money to a coach who cannot produce Nick Saban results? This fiasco is on the university, not Jimbo. All Jimbo did was take advantage of the situation as most people would. The university offered the contract and Jimbo signed it.
Because they thought that because he beat Nick Saban a few times, that he would get Texas A&M 10 win records. They are also firing a coach who recovers from dips in previous seasons. Try getting that with any other coach. I think Jimbo may be one of the best coaches out there right now.

I am not even sure how he was fired. He seems to have a dip and recovery season history (most coaches do). Did A&M think that he would get them like 10 wins a season and be like Alabama? They are going to find it hard to get a coach that can improve every other year off their dips in wins from the prior season. He did the same thing at Florida State and he was never fired (of course, he also had 10 win season records).
The AD needs to fired from hiring Jimbo and given him a free check.

I dont blame the AD in letting Fisher go..AM has underachieved with their great recruiting classes they ve had ...AM should ba a consistent top 10 team ,like Bama, Michigan, ohio st, etc each year.....
AM is one of my SIDE teams besides the ACC and when they hired Jimbo, FSU was in decline......under Jimbo...
Was skeptical about him taking AM to the next level.....
The timing of his release is good for AM...they can start early and get the jump on other teams in seeking out the right coach that will win .....
