I just bought my XXL and was trying to figure out how to do 3D carvings in Carbide Create. This is going to help out a lot. Even if I don't keep it after the year is up I'm just glad that the free version has V-carving included as a standard option. Sadly enough that was one of the tipping points that got me to choose the Shapeoko 3 over the X-Carve.

The startup FREE year subscription is a great idea. I suggest creating the infrastructure for users to gradually pay forward a discounted price point for the projected cost of the final release. That way you will be partially crowd funded and users will get involved as paying clients rather than " Freeloaders ".

Downloaded the free pro trial, how do I get the import button to show in the model tab? Also in my toolpaths I only have 3d finish, no button for 3d rough

Wheres the best place to get 3d g code for shapeoko projects? Can I get the c3d file for this horse you made?
Are there any plans to add the ability to import STL files into this software? Vcarve has that option and it makes it really easy to import 3D designs from fusion 360.
New to this my question is why cc cannot take stl files ? Fir 3D ?

If you can use a touch probe, you can use a bitsetter. Should be compatible with almost all Shapeoko 3's, but wiring may be slightly different. Will be in the instructions.

So.. Forgive me, but I'm new to Carbide software. I just purchased my Shapeoko XXL and a total newbie to CNC. I have been learning on a Redsail 4040. so do you purchase Carbide create Pro Or do you do a monthly subscription?
Carbide Create Pro can be purchased as either a one time perpetual license, or an annual subscription at a lower cost. We are currently providing a free one year subscription.
If you jump to and started with Fusion 360 life will be oh so much better. Also with the XXL the middle (dead center) has a tendency to dip especially if you have heavy stock or always lean on the machine securing stock down. Finding support for the middle of the base or the aluminum base is a must for acurate detail across 32"x32" because of elasticity in the Z/A axis and spring on the board. However the machine cuts just fine without "special attention" you just might have to plunge deeper into your scrap waste board and more gingerly compared to that 4040 to cut 100% through.
Will this work with the Shapeoko 3?
Carbide Create Pro works with any Shapeoko and most other brands of CNC machines.

i'm a artist who uses Blender for modeling. i do occasionally mill things too. can an .stl file from Blender be imported into Carbide 3D? i really don't want to learn another CAD program. learning Blender was a nightmare for me. but i would try if i absolutely had to.

Why would anyone buy the perpetual at $360. PLUS $120 per year for updates instead of just paying $120. Per year? I don’t understand why every software is a subscription now instead of being able to buy the software like we used to.

Carbide Create is an awesome company!!! I needed a single v wheel and instead of making me buy an entire tune up kit they sent me 2 wheels free of charge. And now this!!! I just tried the link for CC pro and it only offered me a 30 day trial, not sure why. Has any one else tried the link yet?

I received two separate emails from them, one with a 30 day and one for the year. I think it's a system glitch.
My link was only for 30 days also I could not get carbide create to open to be able to paste the new license into it. When I opened it all it did was run and then I was told it was not responding.
Well, I guess one month is better than nothing. Please edit your post to reflect that it’s now only one month in length for the Pro Trial.
