- Thoomp is the silo/tube ejected model rocket I've been working on! The ejection tube is coming together well, but we need a rocket to launch out of it, that's what we're doing today!

No he is not, he is building a silo launcher basically. As if you would throw your model rocket up before igniting the engine!
It is more a challenge for stability and a benefit for the launch pad configuration with winds etc.
Or better said, it is an engineering challenge and a lot o fun. The model rocket is not targeted anywhere but up!
