Some milk floats can tow a caravan but that makes their range impractically short. Also, the concept of drive through charging points has yet to arrive so they cannot recharge anywhere with their caravan hitched up.

@@organickevinlondon Yes you are right. Calling EV's milk floats is unfair, as milk floats were perfect for delivering daily fresh milk to hungry families 40/50 years ago, performing a service to the community, so you gotta love 'em for that 😁So, calling EV's "milk floats" in really unfair on milk floats, if you follow me....😁 must try to think of another name for EV's next till I'm recharging one, lets face it I'll have plenty of time.................................................................... @@acwdrivingservices9877 so in reality, you are some sort of a New Age Luddite then, as for the Mac Master, he ain't exactly the sharpest tool in the box either, as he's a high mileage driver, with a mid range EV,
that only does, 2 and a 1/2 miles per kWh, and he's NEVER even used a FREE public EV charger too, (there are THOUSANDS of them in the UK), "no wonder he's always complaining about how much his Taycan costs to run", me I've owned a Mini Cooper Electric for 4 years now, and for 95%, of its mileage, I've been charging it up for FREE, I just drive it 500 meters, to my local supermarket, plug it in, do some shopping then walk home, and when its fully charged, walk 500 meters, from my home, to pick it up.
As for the practicality of my Mini Cooper Electric, its manufacturers stated range is 145 miles, (I get 120 miles of range in the winter, and 170 miles of range in the summer), and my regular longest round trips are just under 100 miles, (I'm an ex international HGV1 driver, so I've done "more than my fair share of driving" if yer call ONE MILLION MILES, in an articulated truck around a dozen European nations" driving), so I can do those just under 100 mile round trips, and get back to my local FREE EV charging point, "NO PROBLEM WHATSOEVER", (even if, I was charging at home, my Mini Cooper Electric, would still be, far cheaper to run, than my old Mini Cooper ICE, that I sold when the Mini Cooper Electric replaced it, oh, and the Mini Cooper Electric, handles way better than the old Mini Cooper ICE ever did,), as I now do, the average UK motorists weekly mileage, of about 140 miles, I only need to charge up my Mini Cooper Electric, about ONCE PER WEEK, with FREE JUICE too, as for longer journeys, I recently did from my home, in London, to Lands End and back, which is about a 600 mile round trip, stopping to charge at, Amesbury, after 80 miles, only needing 20 kWh of a charge, so that was 1/2 hour of charging, Honiton, another 70 miles down the A303, for 17.5 kWh, 20 mins of charging, and Launceston, 60 miles down the road, needing just 15 kWh of juice, taking about 17 mins, so it took, about ONE HOUR in charging time, on a 300 mile journey from London to Lands End, (I used the Gridserve EV charger at Lands End, while I went for a bike of a hike, so that didn't impact on my journey time one bit and as I used Zap Map, I didnt even have to queue to use any of the EV charging points during the entire round trip) and on the way back, on the same day, those 20 to 30 min "kip breaks" meant I didnt arrive home in London, feeling "totally cream crackered", and once yer get, past the M25, and drive into London, "you really do need to be mentally right on the ball, with NO driver fatigue" as the Mini Cooper Electric, does 4 miles per kWh, in winter, with the heater, wipers and light on, it consumed 70 kWh of juice, on the outward London to Lands End leg of the trip, and "paying through the nose at 80p per kW, using 50 kW chargers en route" meant the outward journey cost me £56, meanwhile, "that font of pure EV gibberish, the Mac Master" would have consumed 116 kWh of energy, (as his Taycan only does about 2.4 miles per kW), doing the exact same journey, costing him an eye watering £93 for the same journey, AND if the Mac Master, used the exact same 50 kW chargers as I did, "I would have BEATEN him to Lands End by half an hour", so "the Mac Master, isn't exactly the sharpest tool in the box after all, hey".

"Snagnes", and "Snaustell" - brings back fond memories (used to live in Newquay, and work just up the road for the MOD (Nancekuke))! Don't forget, if Cornwall Council is installing those 250kW chargers, they'll also need to be building extra power stations to provide the juice. How will that go down with the locals?? 😀
Putting them on the beach is a stroke of genius - a nice combination of high voltage, and VERY conductive salt water. Is St Austell still the loading port for all the clay from the ECC mines?

We had a week in Cornwall last year, we have got a petrol golf and from leaving our house near Norwich until we got back home not once did it force us into some shit hole carpark while our life drained away, not once did it make us plan our journey, not once did it only let us fill it to 80%, not once did it force us into a dump of a supermarket in the arse end of nowhere to charge it up. The whole journey from start to finish was hassle free.
However the place we stayed at had around 10 apartments and they had some milk floaterists staying there, they were fucking about with extension leads out their apartment windows across the carpark trying to get some electric into the heaps of shit so they could go out and enjoy their holiday 😂.
On the whole we enjoyed Cornwall and enjoyed laughing at the EV owners wasting their holiday time.
One down side was we went to Padstow and tried Rick Steins take away fish and chips, they were crap.

I recently did, London to Lands End and back, (a 600 mile round trip) hassle free,
in my Mini Cooper Electric, (with a manufacturers stated range of 145 miles),
first stop, Amesbury Travelodge after 100 miles, B.P. Pulse charger, 25 minute charge up,
no queue to use EV charger too,
and its a short walk from there to the Solstice Services,
next stop B.P. Honiton 70 miles later, 20 mins charge up,
      no queue there either,
and the same again at Strawberry Fields farm shop near Launceston,
no queue and ALL of the Pod Point chargers in perfect working order,
(I DOUBT if any EV drivers were "fucking about with extension leads"
as you CANNOT use extension leads, for EV charging,
so THAT graphically exposes yer anti EV BS in ONE GO,
and ONLY ACCORDING TO YOU, there were 10 apartments,
and PLURAL, i.e. "more than one" milk floaterist staying there,
so thats 2 out of 10, or 20% of the occupants had EVs,
hm, ONLY 3% of UK cars are EVs, so your MATHS doesnt make ANY SENSE at all,
as its an at least 7 times EXAGERATION isnt it, as that would make 21%)
oh, and as for the "costs" of running my Mini Cooper Electric,
99% of the time, I charge it up, for FREE at my local, 500 meters from my home,
FREE public EV charging point and I've been charging it up for FREE,
for almost 4 YEARS now, (there are THOUSANDS of FREE EV charging points in the UK)
I've done about 25,000 miles, and paid FUCK ALL for charging for THAT almost 25,000 miles
whenever I go past filling stations and SEE people "filling up with petrol or diesel"
I'm in tears over that, as those MUGS are actually paying for their road fuel, LOL.

Everytime I go past a public charger and see all the poor bastards sitting there stuck on the end of a cable it makes me smile knowing how gullible some people are.
I have been fitting domestic chargers since 2012 and one thing I have learned over the years is EV owners will accept any old bullshit, they are so easy to rip off. If I say I think these are the best chargers and these are the best EV's they lap it up, those words alone are worth at least another £100 on their bill.
One thing I do know for certain is EV owners fucking love carparks and scummy roadside services. "I needed a toilet break anyway" 😂
There is some EV loser on here who walks backwards and forwards to a supermarket carpark to charge his car up, drops it off and then walks home, sits around like a lemming then walks back to collect it, I was going to find out his address and send him a dog lead so he can take his EV for a walk, what a waste of life. I can see his gravestone now, here rests the EV owner who wasted his life walking to and from a supermarket carpark. You honestly couldn't make it up how fucking sad some of these EV owners are. I will be back soon, just dropping the car off at the shitty supermarket carpark AGAIN.
And I can assure you the EV retards were twatting about with extension leads across the carpark, one day we saw one of the familes sitting in their car in a tescos carpark, fully grown adults with their kids being forced by a crap tin box on wheels to waste valuable time of their holiday in a bloody tescos carpark going nowhere. I live in a small town which is a terminal to two RoRo ferry companies, so they all roll off and clog the streets, won’t (or can’t use their GPS/ Google maps on mobiles). I was driving a bus today when a camper drove out of a Give Way sign right in front of me. I rest my case!

Posted by someone else but love it and hits the nail on the head hard.....
    Reasons EV's Suck
    @jakefriesenjake
    1. Child battery mineral labor
    2. Range anxiety
    3. Risk of garage fires
    4. Paying 20k more than a
    comparable vehicle
    5. every time you fuel up an EV, the fuel tank gets smaller and smaller. Battery degeneration.
    6. Poor resale value
    7. Reduced performance in
    cold, highway.
    8. Higher repair costs
    9. Awful charging network
    experiences in the weather
    without restrooms
    10. Higher insurance rates
    11. Replacing tires more
frequently. Michelin states that tires wear out 20% faster on an Ev, and could be as high as 50% faster! Ev tires made for ev's, cost 20 to 30% more, than regular tires for ice cars. As Ev tires wear out, they leave behind more tiny particles of rubber than normal ice cars. This causes more pollution.
    12. Death by autopilot
    13. $25k - $35k battery
    14. Low km range per tank of energy.
    15. must wait in-line 1-2 hrs
    to charge.
    16. Then wait more time to charge, while charging.
    17. Spontaneous combustion, with no way to put out the fire storm.
    18. If they catch fire in a tunnel, many people will die.
    19. People without a pro charger system or a parking spot at their house, will run an extension cord to the road, which is dangerous and could lead to people tampering with your charging setup (super slow charging at the road)
    20. If you're in California, you won't be able to charge your car past 4pm because of a shortage of electricity supply on the cheesy grid.
    21. It is not actually "green". The pollution is made at the power station, not the car.
    22. Only 5% of used junk batteries get recycled, the rest go directly into the bin. It's cheaper to mine for new minerals.
    23. Chhinna actually does 70% of all the refining of the minerals and production of the batteries.
    24. Minerals are becoming more and more scarce, and the cost will only go up, not down.
    25. Some countries where they mine for lithium, actually use a very big boat load of fresh water to only produce a ton of lithium, so they are afraid of running out of water. It takes over 2 million liters of fresh clean water to produce 1 ton of lithium.
    26. Ev cars will soon not be able to drive in tunnels or be able to park in underground parking garage and probably will eventually void your house insurance if you park it in your personal garage....
    27. You can't charge your battery at super stations when it is bitter cold out.
    28. If a fire truck comes to put out an Ev fire, all the chemicals go directly into the sewer system, poisoning everything. They need tons of water to slow down the burn. They can't put them out. They are only trying to prevent over things near by from catching fire.
    29. Ok, there is 2 good things; regenerative braking, which charges the battery while you are slowing down on the highway, which saves your brakes from much wear.
    30. Loss of fuel tax revenue, so now the roads will only get worse, not better.
    31. in Dublin, huge generators are being used to charge EV buses, due to electrical grid strain. buses in Athlone also cannot be put on charge until midnight, for the same reason. Bus Éireann is saying that they can't charge their buses until 11pm for the same reason, and to avail of a lower tariff.
    32. Not everyone on earth even has electricity to charge their cars. What are they supposed to do in 2035? It's easy to get a bucket of fuel to power up a regular car.
    33. VCE, or "vapour cloud explosion" is very bad. If any battery, typically anything larger than an E-scooter battery, and especially only "half" charged. If a problem occurs in the cells, it might not catch on fire right away. Instead, a cloud appears, and then may be ignited a short period afterwards. There are 2 different types of vapour clouds that appear; heavier and lighter than air, which form will be dominate, can not be predicted yet. This produces a bomm.
    34. For Ev transport trucks, they aren't allowed to carry the same payload as a diesel truck, because of the massive weight of the battery. The owner of the Ev truck therefore loses potential profit, every day. They also lose more profit for the waiting times for charging that Ev truck. The driver will get paid to charge the truck, which in turn forces the owner of the truck to lose more money.
    35. Ev cars are more likely to be written off, if they experience a minor collision. After the collision, something could have upset the structural integrity of the battery.
    36. Ev cars lie to you. If you are bold enough to go out on a decent road trip and its 210 miles, one way, and your Ev tells you that your battery will last you 223 miles, there had better be no hills, or excessively cold out.... You'll probably get stranded, trying to get to the charger, at the end of the trip. Ev's have left many families stranded already.
    37. Ev's and their batteries, will soon need their very own "passport". With all info about them when born, and current info about them (power output, resistance, mineral composition, etc.)
    38. Thieves stealing charging cables, will soon make it impossible to "fuel" an Ev car. They take a long time to replace the cables, just to have them cut again for scrape money.
    39. Cars were typically being made lighter and lighter using aluminum and or fiberglass and or carbon fiber, to reduce emissions and pollution. Ev's are only getting heavier and heavier, causing more pollution than ever. Remember, an ev's pollution is made at the power station and the dump, not at the actual Ev, except for the tire particles as mentioned above.
Ev's (External combustion vehicles) suck, and it's a bridge to nowhere. But they do sometimes convert themselves into "internal combustion", but sadly, they can only do that 1 time.

I sometimes wonder if our lass is advising this government with all these daft ideas. Firstly we don't have infrastructure to install all the charges that would be needed. Plus at a guess the country would need half a dozen new power stations to generate all the required megawatts.
The other thing they haven't thought of, where's all the electric lorries coming from? Just think an electric 120 tonne mobile crane!! range per charge 18 mile, or an artic? The bloody delivery time won't be next day. The mind boggles at the stupidly.

I think it's a scandal that there are not enough milk-float chargers in Cornwall. We should welcome them with open arms. After all, if they can afford a £60,000 milk-float, then they can afford to spend lots of money in Cornwall when they visit. So, let's have enough chargers. They could be put in Trago Mills in Falmouth, with an exclusive "Emmetts Only", £2:50 per kilowatt rate; snd a shoo selling pastys, ice-cream, cream teas and £5 postcards with a picture of the charger on them.
Provide a one-way street into Cornwall for EVs only. One car wide with its own tractor to cut 5mm off the hedges _ then another one-way EVs only route out over the Tamar Bridge with a special EVs only £10 charge to leave the Duchy.
See? You're not the only one with good ideas Tony.
