My stepdad was a big fan of Ravi Shankar after seeing the movie Bangladesh when I was eleven. This is quite a bit different than Ravi! I love it when a good experiment works out! George would have liked this, I think.
The only thing similar between a guitar and sitar is that they are both string instruments. Nothing else. Sitar was originally not build to play any fast paced music, let alone Metal. The things he's doing on that Sitar (hammering, shredding etc) are just out of this world. Imagine what 2 cellos did with a Cello. He's the same with Sitar.
Always loved indian music there has always been some bad ass musicians over there. Shakti is a good example. More tradisional but extreamly well played. As a fellow Scandinavian i hope you will react to Ylvis.It's two Brothers that use humour in music. The cabin is a good start. Im sure you can relate to it. Heidå søta bror😊
